Chapter Ninety-Seven: Respect for Teachers
Luo Cheng ignored Lockhart because Dumbledore had already walked towards him.
"Professor Luo Cheng, I heard that you came to school with Harry Potter and Ron Weasley on the knight bus?"
"Yes, Headmaster."
Luo Cheng is not surprised how Dumbledore knows, Hogwarts has many secrets, and Dumbledore, as the headmaster, probably has a lot of special permissions, and it is normal to know how they got in.
"I was a little too drunk last night and got up late to miss the Hogwarts Express, but I happened to run into Harry Potter and Ron Weasley, who were also blocked in front of Platform 93/4, and someone had cast a blocking spell on the entrance, and they couldn't get in. I'll take both of them to school with me. Otherwise, the two boys were already planning to drive Arthur Weasley's magic car to school. If that were the case, you might have seen the "Muggles surprised that the Ford Anglia could fly" in the Evening Prophet. ”
Luo Cheng poured himself a glass of butterbeer.
"Headmaster, do you want some?"
"Oh! I think I know what the hell is up to! ”
Without waiting for Dumbledore to reply, Gilderoy Lockhart, who was not willing to be lonely, leaned over and interjected, saying that this guy was bored and had been eavesdropping on them, because Professor Trelawney had been drunk and he couldn't find other faculty members willing to brag with him.
"I think it might be a prank by a vampire from out of town, maybe just from Eastern Europe. I know their habits very well, there are too many vampires in Eastern Europe, such as Romania, where vampires can even openly go in and out of wizard bars. I wrote about my experience in Traveling on a Boat with a Vampire, and the vampire who had been trying to sneak up on me was keen on this kind of boring prank - of course, I had helped him get rid of this bad habit, and now he stopped playing pranks and started eating carrots instead. ”
"Thanks for the suggestion, Professor Lockhart, I'll send someone to look it up."
Dumbledore said with a smile.
The Sorting Ceremony is still going on, and new students at Hogwarts wear the Sorting Hat in order to decide which house they should attend, which loudly calls out which house they are best suited to attend. This year's students are a little smaller than last year, so the sorting was completed quickly.
Dumbledore stood up and began to speak.
"Welcome!" Professor Dumbledore said, his beard glistening with the light of the candles, "Welcome to Hogwarts for the new school year!" I have a few words to say to all of you.
"It's a great pleasure," he continued, "that this year, I'm excited to welcome a new teacher to our team.
"He's Professor Gilderoy Lockhart, and I'm sure many of you have heard of him, and he's readily agreed to fill in the void in Defence Against the Dark Arts class."
The girls applauded wildly, while the boys looked disinterested. But Lockhart was delighted, standing up and bowing to everyone, like a sought-after superstar.
"Thank you, thank you!"
"Then I have one more thing to announce, according to the minister's education order, the ideological and moral education course is listed as a compulsory course open to all grades, and it will be officially opened to everyone from this year, and it is still Professor Luo Cheng who is teaching."
There were some scattered and not very enthusiastic applause below, but Luo Cheng didn't care, because he was very boring in teaching, and he never gave the circle a point, and only the junior students who had never taken his class would applaud their face.
"But then again, these dead children really don't understand the truth of respecting teachers, and it seems that we have to hang a few for them this year."
