Chapter 105: Spoilers
"Petrification? Yes! I think so too. Lockhart said, but no one cared what he was talking about at the moment.
"But I don't know exactly what's going on......" Dumbledore shook his head.
"Ask them!" Filch screamed, turning his mottled, tear-stained face towards Harry and Malfoy. "They're on the scene!"
"There's no way they're going to do that, Filch." Dumbledore said firmly.
"The oldest of them is a second-year student, that little girl is even a little wizard who has just entered the school, they don't have the ability to petrify cats at this age, which requires a high level of black magic attainment."
"But who else would they be?" Filch said with a spit of his face, his fat and sagging face turning purple. "There are so many students, they are the first to show up on the scene! And everyone else is at the party! β
"Filch, the principal is right, these students don't have the ability to petrify cats." Luo Cheng said: "And these children, three are Gryffindors and three are Slytherins, I don't think they will act together." If there's a problem between them, the other side will report it, won't it? Let's hear what they have to say first. β
"Allow me to say a word, Headmaster."
Snape's lips twitched, a slight sneer. "I think neither Potter and his friends nor Malfoy and his friends should have been in that place at that time. But I think they have to explain why they left the banquet early and went to the corridor above. Malfoy! You speak first! β
"Professor, I, Krall, and Goyle just went out for a stroll after they were full, and it didn't take long to see the new Gryffindor students standing there alone. As for Potter and Weasley, they came later, oh, Weasley seems to be the older brother of the Gryffindor freshman, and they're in a gang. β
Malfoy said unhurriedly.
"That means Mr. Malfoy is not suspected of committing the crime. Can Potter and Mr. Weasley, and the new Gryffindor student, explain? β
Harry and Ron scrambled to explain that they had heard Neville say that Malfoy's gang had gone out with Ginny, and that they had come with them because they were afraid that Malfoy would do her a bad deal.
"Really? Caring about his sister is reasonable. Snape said, dark eyes glistening in the candlelight. So, was it the Gryffindor freshman who witnessed the first scene? So, this Ginny Weasley, can you tell us, what's going on? β
Ginny looked at the crowd with a pale face, trying to open her mouth but unable to speak.
"She's terrified, Severus!"
Professor McGonagall snapped, "She's just a freshman!" You won't be so confused as to wonder what she can do! β
"Professor McGonagall, I didn't mean that, I meant to ask her if she had seen the real culprit, we all knew that these students were unlikely to do such a thing."
Snape smiled a twisted smile.
"Professors, you don't have to argue at all." Luo Cheng spoke. "In my opinion, this matter really has nothing to do with these students."
Snape's ugly smile became even more obvious, "Does Professor Luo Cheng have any high opinions?" β
"I can't talk about it, I just want to express my personal opinion."
Luo Cheng walked up to the cat. "Obviously, this cat has been hit by a very powerful petrification charm. Professor Dumbledore had just used several special spell solving spells, but to no avail. As we all know, there are many spells that can cause petrification, but either one can be lifted by the corresponding spell solution. β
"Maybe the caster is too powerfulβ" Lockhart interjected.
"What wizard is stronger than the Headmaster? If he had, would he be so bored as to run to Hogwarts to attack a cat? β
Luo Cheng couldn't help but roll his eyes.
"Not necessarily, isn't that all the words written? That's a Slytherin heir! That Chamber of Secrets in Hogwarts! When I was at Hogwarts, I was also a student at Ravenclaw House. I know this legend very well. β
Lockhart was unexpectedly serious.
"You're right, Mr. Lockhart." Luo Cheng said, "But I still insist on my opinion, even if Salazar himself is alive, his petrification curse will definitely be lifted." β
"Go on, Professor Luo Cheng, but don't talk too far." Dumbledore said.
"I suspect that this cat was not killed by a wizard's spell, but by some dangerous magical creature, such as a basilisk."
