Chapter 112: Myrtle (Part II)
"Make a difference? What role can we play? β
Harry asked, confused.
Luo Cheng didn't answer, but shouted directly towards the single room.
"Hey, Myrtle, don't be depressed. In fact, we came to you today for something else. β
"Something else?"
Myrtle got out of the toilet bowl and floated out of the private room.
"Do you still want to make fun of me?"
"It's not β well, it's actually these two of my students, they're really curious about you, and they think you're pretty, right?"
Luo Cheng winked at Harry and Ron.
"Yes, yes......"
Although I don't know why Luo Cheng said this, as students, they have to do what the professor wants.
"Don't lie to me." Myrtle gasped and said, tears rolling down her cheeks, "Do you think I don't know what people call me behind my back?" Fat woman myrtle! Ugly myrtle! Poor, crying, sullen myrtle! β
"No, trust me. I'm also a professor at Hogwarts. β
Luo Cheng said, "These two young men really think you are beautiful, and they want to make friends with you." β
"Make a friend?"
Myrtle looked at Harry and Ron suspiciously, then turned silvery white with shyness, and whispered things like "that's not good" and "there are too many people".
"Oh, that's right...... I can be your friend, and if you both die, you are welcome to share this flush toilet with me. β
Harry and Ron looked at each other, not knowing whether to be happy or angry.
"Now that I've helped you find two friends, Myrtle, can you answer me a question? This time, don't hide in the toilet to avoid the problem without listening. β
"Just ask."
Myrtle floated around Harry and Ron, looking very excited.
"I want to ask how you died." Luo Cheng said.
Myrtle's whole demeanor changed all at once. It seemed that no one had ever asked her such a question that honored her.
"Ouch, it's horrible," she said with relish, "and that's where it happens." I died in this toilet. I remember it very clearly. At the time, Olive Hombe laughed at me for wearing glasses like a four-eyed dog, so I hid here. I locked the door and was crying inside, when I suddenly heard someone coming in. What they say is funny. I guess it must be another language. But what annoyed me the most was that I heard a boy's voice talking about life. So I opened the door, yelled at him to go out of the way, went to his boys' bathroom, andβ"
Myrtle, thinking herself remarkable, puffed out her chest and her face radiant, "I'm dead." β
"How did you die?" Luo Cheng asked.
"I don't know," Myrtle said mysteriously in a low voice, "I just remember seeing a pair of frighteningly large yellow eyes." It was as if my whole body was caught, and then I floated away......"
She looked at the three of them in a trance.
"Then I came back. You know, I'm hell-bent on settling accounts with Olive Humbe. Oh, and she regretted laughing at me for wearing glasses. Because I kept pestering her and pestering her, no matter where she went, she couldn't escape my entanglement. β
Hearing this, Harry and Ron felt a chill.
"Of course, in the end, the Ministry of Magic intervened, and they forbade me to pester Olive Hombe anymore, so I went back to Hogwarts, and I enjoyed staying here despite the pesky Peeves here."
"What a great experience, thank you for your answer, Myrtle, I think my students should go to class, thank you for sharing."
"Gone so soon? Then goodbye. Myrtle said wistfully, and then slipped back into the toilet.
The three of them walked quickly out of the girls' bathroom.
"Professor, why did you just go-"
Ron asked impatiently, but before he could finish speaking, Luo Cheng interrupted him.
"In 1943, the last time the secret room was opened, a student died, and that student was Myrtle."
