Chapter 124: A New Victim
Harry Potter, plagued by rumors, sat by the fire in the common room, worried.
"I really didn't let that snake attack Justin! I'm protecting him! ”
Harry stressed the matter to Ron for the 50th time.
Ron was a little bothered, and even though Harry was a good friend of his, he couldn't bear to be talked about over and over again!
"For Merlin's sake, Harry, if you really take this matter so seriously, you should go to Justin. We at Gryffindor House believe in you! ”
Harry then stood up and walked out of the portrait hole, ready to go in search of Justin.
Because of the snowstorm outside, thick, gray snowflakes fluttered in the sky, sealing every window, and the castle was much darker than usual during the day. Harry trembled as he walked across the classroom, intermittently hearing something inside. Professor McGonagall was yelling at a man who, by the sound of his voice, had turned his friend into a badger.
Harry resisted the urge to take a look and walked on. He thought that Justin might be using the time he wasn't in class to catch up on his homework, so he decided to go to the library first.
Harry slammed up the stairs and turned into another hallway. The light was particularly dim, a window pane was loose, and a bitter wind blew in and extinguished the torch. He was halfway through when he suddenly tripped over something lying on the floor.
He turned his face and narrowed his eyes to see what had tripped him, and for a moment, he felt as if his stomach had turned into water.
Justin Finchrie lay on the floor, cold and stiff, a look of horror fixed on his face, his eyes glazed on the ceiling.
Harry quickly stood up, breathing heavily, his heart pounding like a small drum in his chest. He looked around the empty hallway in confusion, and there was no one. He couldn't hear anything else, only the teacher's voice in the classroom at the other end of the hallway.
Harry didn't know if he should go or run away, would anyone believe he had nothing to do with it? He stood there, panicking. Just then, a door next to him slammed open, and Peeves, who was a prankster, rushed out.
"Ah, it's little Potter!"
Peeves giggled and jumped past Harry, knocking Harry's glasses crooked. "What is Potter doing? Why is Potter sneaky-"
Peeves flipped halfway through a hollow heel and suddenly stopped. He saw Justin with his head down.
He quickly straightened up, took a deep breath, and before Harry could stop him, he screamed in a straight voice, "Do it! Let's do it! Let's do it again! This time it's not a cat, it's a student! Run for your life! Let's do it!"
Boom - Boom – Boom – Boom –
One by one, the doors in the hallway were pushed open, and people swarmed out. During those difficult minutes, the scene was extremely chaotic, Justin was in danger of being squashed, and Harry found himself squeezed against the wall.
At this time, the teachers shouted loudly to maintain order. Professor McGonagall ran all the way, followed by the students in her class, one of whom still had black and white hair. Professor McGonagall slammed her wand with a loud bang, and everyone fell silent, and she ordered everyone to return to their classrooms.
The only people present were the teachers and Harry Potter, as well as Justin, who was unknown on the ground.
Harry stammered, "I swear I didn't-"
"We can't handle that, Potter." Professor McGonagall replied briefly.
"Potter, I don't know if it's the trouble that keeps bothering you, or if you're always looking for trouble everywhere." Snape said in a strange voice.
"New victims?"
Luo Cheng raised his eyebrows and looked at the petrified Justin a little puzzled, the basilisk has been removed, how can there be victims? Could it be that there is still a basilisk? Neither he nor Dumbledore had said anything about getting rid of the basilisk.
Moments later, Dumbledore arrived at the scene, his expression serious, and he checked on Justin's situation.
"It's different from last time, this time it was a wizard who did it."
