Chapter 47: Malfoy's Honor
About a quarter of an hour later, Draco gave a brief account of the family's glorious history. It was probably these heroic deeds that infected little Malfoy, and he finally regained his old and lofty look.
"Yes," Calvin applauded softly after listening, "what a touching deed, the Malfoy family has been fighting for the wizarding world since birth, and the glory of the family has been passed down from Lucius I to Abraxas, and it has not fallen for thousands of years, even after the twists and turns of the fairy rebellion, it has always stood at the top of the wizarding world." Even today, it's still standing, isn't it? ”
Draco smiled a rare shy smile and nodded.
Calvin's expression became unpredictable, "However, this doesn't match the Malfoy family I know." ”
Calvin beckoned, and a golden notebook flew out of the shelf, spreading out in front of Draco.
"See for yourself."
Draco began to peruse the open page, and as soon as he read the first line, his face instantly became angry.
Treachery. Defections. Eater of the Lord. Slaughter. Default.
Draco had no idea that these words would be associated with his own family.
He read five pages quickly, and when he tried to read other chapters, he found that he couldn't open the other pages.
"Done?" Calvin had a sneer on his face.
Draco was breathing heavily, if someone else had smeared his family like this, he would have reciprocated. He gritted his teeth, remembering Professor Snape's warning in the morning, and in the end it was the family honor that prevailed.
"Professor Capet, how dare you, how can you wantonly discredit my family, this is an insult to the Malfoys." Draco asked Calvin angrily.
"Smear? I don't understand, these are all facts. Calvin looked at Draco with a grin.
Draco dared not speak, and the faint smile on Calvin's face was like a sharp knife, cutting through the face of the Malfoy family.
"So the content of my confinement is to accept your insult to my family?" Little Malfoy fought back his anger.
"No, I'm not interested in insulting a family full of stains," Calvin pulled out a copy of the sixth volume of a thousand-year history of magic in England from his shelf, "Your task of confinement is to peruse this book and find the truth about your family from the history that has been whitewashed with lies. ”
"Of course, if you think I'm trying to discredit your family, find the evidence," Calvin propped his hands on the table, looking down condescendingly at Draco, "to contradict me." ”
"Let's get started."
Draco opened the catalogue and found the Malfoys in the Pureblood section, and then began to devote himself to the sea of books in search of the truth.
However, Draco did not find any evidence of the greatness and glory of the family, on the contrary, even he could easily tell the truth that was whitewashed by lies. After all, one lie needs to be covered up with twenty lies. The writers of the history books didn't do much to cover up the Malfoys, and the holes in them looked bigger than Hogwarts Castle.
"No, it's not true, it can't be." Nearly an hour later, Draco was on the verge of collapse.
Calvin patted him on the shoulder in time: "Kid, what do you see?" ”
"I don't believe it, this book must be lying to me. I, I'm going to write to ask my father tonight. I want to vindicate my family's honor. The great Malfoys could not have been built on lies and deception. ”
"Draco, I'm disappointed that you think so." Calvin seduced, "It's good that you're a Slytherin and focus on glory. ”
"But whose honor should you really cherish?"
"Is it Draco Malfoy's honor, or is it Malfoy's honor?"
Draco glanced back at Calvin, who didn't understand what he meant.
"Draco, the honor of the Malfoy family, not your Draco."
"Do you think Slytherin first-year students respect you because you're Draco, or because you're Malfoy?"
"What are you without the Malfoy family?"
"Unless you want to lie on the Malfoy family tree forever and live your life with the name of the Malfoy family."
"In that case, let alone Slytherin, you won't be welcome in all of Hogwarts."
"Draco, remember, honor is earned by yourself, not by others."
"Even if it's your family's honor, do you think it should be a reason for you to despise other classmates, and even make mockery and fight?"
Draco replied in a whisper, "It shouldn't. ”
"Be louder, like a man." Calvin patted him on the back.
"It shouldn't!" Draco shouted expressionlessly.
Calvin smiled with satisfaction: "Good. Draco, I hope you will remember that the honor of the family is not your honor, it is just a step that gives you a higher starting point than the others. ”
"True honor cannot be taken away, just like me, even if you call me 'cowardly cape' a hundred times, I will not be angry, it will not affect it in the slightest."
Dracomune nodded and asked, "What can I do to get my own honor?" ”
"There's a lot of way, Draco. It's simple to have something that others don't have. ”
"So, Professor," Draco looked up, his pale pointed face finally a hint of blood, "will you help me?" ”
"Help?" Calvin repeats the word emphatically.
"Uh, Professor Capet, I mean, teach me." Draco said earnestly.
Calvin didn't agree to Draco's request, he hadn't even taught Harry yet. It was impossible to teach Draco first.
Of course, it was not a direct refusal, Calvin said that he did not see anything beyond the ordinary in Draco at the moment. When Draco gets his approval, he is willing to help him with his studies.
"I'll prove it to you, whether it's my honor or the family's honor." Draco took the volume of the Millennial History of Magic in England and regained his haughty look, only this time, more confident than ever.
"Very well, I'll keep an eye on you. You can come to me if you have something to do in the future. Calvin looked at Draco, who was standing in the doorway, reluctant to leave, "Anything else?" ”
"Professor, were there any members of the Malfoy family among the students who bullied you back then?"
"Well," Calvin recalled, "luckily, no." ”
Calvin visibly sensed Draco's relief and left the office.
"This kid." Calvin chuckled and poured himself a glass of red wine, today was a good day, and he smashed a crack in the sturdy castle of the pureblood family.
