Chapter 124: Spots in Memory

Soon after, two red-haired boys, one tall and one short, walked into the principal's office.

Percy, the exemplary student, said respectfully with a hint of unease, "Good afternoon, Headmaster Dumbledore, Professor Cape, Professor Snape, and Mr. Black."

Ron also greeted everyone in the office with trepidation.

Percy stood beside Ron, took his brother's hand, and asked, "Headmaster Dumbledore, may I ask if my brother Ron did anything wrong?"

"Ah, don't be nervous, Mr. Weasley." Dumbledore smiled at them in a friendly way, and with a wave of his hand, two couches appeared behind their butts, and Percy and Ron sat down involuntarily, while two glasses of pumpkin juice floated into their hands.

Dumbledore winked at them and said, "I came to you just to talk to you, do you mind?"

Percy and Ron shook their heads in unison, and Percy said, "Headmaster Dumbledore, I'll tell you everything I know."

Dumbledore bowed slightly, "Percy, I remember you had a pet rat, didn't you?"

"Yes, Headmaster," Percy said sternly, "it's called Spotted, and this year my mom gave me an owl, and I gave Spotted to Ron, who knew he had lost it recently."

"Oh," Dumbledore continued, "So how many years has this rat been in your house?"

"Six or seven years, probably," Percy didn't know why Dumbledore cared so much about a mouse, "Does this mouse matter?"

As soon as Percy said that he had been raised for six or seven years, Blake began to get excited, and Snape began to frown slightly.

Dumbledore asked, "Please think carefully about this question before you answer it, Mr. Weasley. Is that rat missing a finger from its left paw?"

"Yes, Headmaster," Ron blurted out, apparently without giving it much thought, "the little thumb of Spotted's left claw is broken."

"I knew it, I knew it!" Sirius shouted excitedly, "It must be him, he can't be wrong."

"Quiet, Sirius," Dumbledore stopped Blake's impulsive behavior and stared at Percy with a sharp gaze, "Percy, is what Ron said true?"

Percy shrugged, "Yes, Headmaster. Spotted did have a broken finger on his left hand."

Dumbledore also looked serious after hearing this, and asked solemnly in a loud voice, "Percy Weasley, and Ronald Weasley, I wonder if you would mind showing me your memories of Mouse Spots?"

"Look at my memory?" Percy was a little overwhelmed.

"I think it's a wand on your temple, and your memories will be magically copied." Ron gestured over Percy's head, "I've seen Professor Capet do that."

"That's right, don't worry, it won't hurt you." Dumbledore stood up and drew his wand, knuckles puffed out like a gout patient's fingers, "Let's begin, Severus, you come and extract Percy's memories."

Calvin, who was on the side, clasped his arms in front of his chest and snorted coldly, "As for guarding me like this?"

"Alright, Mr. Weasley, relax, close your eyes, and think back to your memories and Spotted." Dumbledore's elderberry wand, pulling a wisp of silver-white memory from Ron's temple, placed it in a glass vial. Snape, who was on the side, did the same with a blank face. ….

"Alright, boys, go back first." Dumbledore said in a friendly tone again, "Remember that you can't talk to anyone about today, not even Mr. Potter and Miss Granger!"

As soon as the two Weasleys left, Dumbledore and Snape walked to the meditation basin with the vial containing the memory, and Sirius and Calvin immediately surrounded them. Dumbledore poured Ron's memories into it first, "Let's get started."

The four of them entered the meditation basin at the same time, Dumbledore and Snape standing firmly on the ground, and the two Calvin holding Blake beside him to prevent him from falling when he first used the meditation basin - especially in front of Snape

"Is this in? Those two boys?" Sirius asked, "It looks so shabby, it almost looks like it's going to collapse."

"It should be," Calvin looked at from afar outside the walls of the reserve, impressed by the twisted and strange house, "certainly not your family, the Blake family is a big family."

"Don't say that, you know I don't like to talk about that," Sirius muttered, "and Arthur is related to me, and he's probably my uncle's great-grandson."

When the four of them entered the Burrow, they saw Percy Weasley holding a birdcage containing a brown-yellow owl with a shiny prefect badge on his clothes.

The crowd around looked different, with a stocky woman looking at Percy proudly and telling the other sons, especially George and Fred, to try to learn from their brother. Calvin guessed that she was supposed to be the mother of this group of redheads.

George and Fred put their arms around each other and nodded perfunctorily to indicate that they knew.

The youngest son, Ron, looked at Percy with envy. Soon Percy said, "Ron, I've got Hermes, and I'll give it to you." With that, he pulled out a big fat mouse from his pocket.

Despite some reluctance and squeaking, the rat was pushed to Ron by Percy.

Ron held Spotted in the palm of his hand like a treasure, eager to kiss it.

Dumbledore and the others finally saw the speckled appearance—a large fat rat that was brown, hairless, missing a toe, and had been in a state of spite all day.

Black shouted angrily, "It's him, it's definitely him, Peter Pedirou, he's still alive, and I'll never forget what he became like in Animagus for the rest of my life!"

Dumbledore and Snape looked at each other, and Snape said, "I think it's necessary to look at Percy's memories again."

Sirius was about to refute, but Calvin stopped him. Calvin didn't want the conflict between the two men to escalate.

Calvin said coldly, "I don't think there will be much of a difference, but since it's Prefect Snape's request, let's take a second look."

The four of them left the meditation basin, and after Dumbledore took Ron's memories, Snape poured Percy's memories into them. The four of them re-entered the meditation basin.

Moments later, the four returned to the principal's office, all with varying degrees of anger on their faces.

Percy's memories were almost identical to Ron's, and Dumbledore and Snape even saw the scene of Spotted lying on the table reading the newspaper with a very human expression on their faces.

They had to believe that Mouse Spotted was Peter Peddirou.

Sirius was the first to break the silence, "Headmaster Dumbledore, I can't accept the position of Defence Against the Dark Arts professor right now, I'm going to capture Peter!"
