Chapter 28: Night Tour

Hermione was writing homework on a table in the Gryffindor common room. Her face was flushed and she seemed to be in a good mood, while the two people sitting across from her were not so happy.

Harry and Ron sat listlessly across from Hermione like two defeated roosters, looking as if they were doing their homework, but in reality, they were secretly chatting with the communication crystal.

"Do you believe what Professor Capet said about Lockhart? Genius?" Ron wrote quickly on the communication crystal.

The news instantly reached Harry's communication crystal beside him.

"All I know is that every time I copied a letter for him in his office, he behaved like a monkey in heat~." Harry complained about Lockhart.

Ron saw the message and was about to reply when he heard Hermione cough and looked up at her in a weak light.

Hermione held her head high and reached out to the two of them, "Take it!"

Harry and Ron looked at Hermione's expression that looked like Professor McGonagall, and a wave of fear rose in their hearts, and they handed the communication crystal over.

"You don't have to guess what you're talking about?" Hermione raised an eyebrow, "Professor Capet said it himself, Professor Lockhart is a genius."

"yes," Ron said angrily, "Do you know that Professor Capet has the second half of the sentence, 'But it's strange why didn't Professor Lockhart show it to you in class?' ,」

"Maybe it's because of the fear of hurting us, or maybe it's related to his magical path?" Hermione quickly found a reason for her idol.

Ron couldn't stand Hermione's attitude and shouted, "Hermione, you've been carried away by that liar, you've even marked all of his lessons with hearts!"

Hermione's little face flushed, she didn't know how her class schedule could be seen by Ron.

Fortunately, Harry grabbed Ron in time, "Okay Ron, don't let Lockhart affect our friendship."

Most of the time, Ron and Hermione's personalities complement each other well, and if there is a conflict, Harry needs to mediate.

Harry whispered, "We can't argue with Hermione."

"Hmph." Hermione disdainfully slapped a silver badge in front of Harry and Ron.

Ron said incredulously, "Professor Cape's clearance badge, how did you do that?"

This sentence caught the attention of most of the Gryffindors present. The Wesley twins stepped over the couch to Hermione's side and picked up her silver badge, "Oh, I think you're the youngest student to pass the exam. He deserves to be the first in his grade!"

Hermione smiled proudly, "It's all the power of idols, and it was because I saw Professor Lockhart get the badge that I had the perseverance to persevere over and over again, and finally got Professor Cape's badge."

Most of the people present didn't get their badges, and they cast admiring and envious glances at Hermione.

Harry and Ron, who were surrounded in the middle of the crowd, were embarrassed, and Harry only hated himself for not taking the invisibility cloak down.

Ron whispered in Harry's ear, "Harry, I think we should ...... too."

Before Ron could finish speaking, Harry took it, "Tonight, Cloak of Invisibility." ….

The two looked at each other and nodded.

After the curfew, the two waited until all their roommates were asleep and quietly rolled over and got out of bed. Harry pulled out the Cloak of Invisibility from the bottom of the salute and enveloped Ron inside.

Soon, the two of them left Gryffindor's common room and crept to the Great Hall, ready to get close to the magical painting that glowed golden in the darkness.

But just as the two of them were still about eight or nine chairs away from the magic painting, Harry seemed to hear a slight sound of wind behind him.

Harry glanced back warily, only to see Snape's sleeves fluttering and silently walking towards them.

Discovered? No, it can't be, he can't find out.

Harry didn't have time to think about it, pulling Ron into a chair next to the aisle, giving up most of the aisle to Snape.

Snape's wizarding robes were almost rubbing against theirs

The nose passed, and the two saw him walk straight towards Calvin's magic painting.

After a flash of golden light, Snape's figure vanished. Ron dared to breathe heavily, "I was scared to death, I was almost caught by Snape." What is he doing here?"

Harry thought for a moment, but before he could answer Ron, another burst of golden light burst out, and the two of them held their breath again to see Snape come out of the magic painting, his right hand clutching something tightly.

The two waited until Snape left the Great Hall completely, and after a few more moments to make sure he wouldn't be coming back, they got back up and continued towards the magic painting. But at the same time, two footsteps came from the entrances on either side of the Great Hall, Professor Cape and Headmaster Dumbledore.

Harry and Ron immediately sat down in their chairs again, not daring to come out.

Calvin and Dumbledore smiled at each other when they saw each other, and only after approaching did Calvin say hello, "Good evening, Headmaster Dumbledore."

"Good evening, Calvin." Dumbledore's face still maintained a kind smile, "Honestly, I'm going to try the test I left behind."

"Albus, with your level, it won't take half a minute at all." Calvin said.

"But I still want to try." Dumbledore said, "It's been a long time since anything new has appeared in the castle."

It was only then that Calvin felt his old naughty character in Dumbledore.

"Maybe in the future, there will be a lot of changes." Calvin sighed slightly.

Dumbledore smiled slightly, in fact, he could feel that not only Hogwarts, but the entire wizarding world would be turned upside down because of the young man in front of him.

"What about you? You won't also come to experience the test you left behind."

"Of course not," Calvin hesitated slightly, "I want to see if I can find any traces of Lockhart's use of magic."

"Although I didn't have this feature on the magic painting at the beginning, I still came up with a solution in the past few days."

"I'm afraid it's not good, it might be a glimpse of his magical path." Although his tone did not change, Calvin could hear the dissuasion.

I knew you would say that, so I deliberately chose to come at night, but I didn't expect to bump into you.

Calvin was guilty.

"I'm just a little curious." Calvin said, "I've read his books, and it stands to reason that Lockhart in the book is exactly like two people in reality, and he can't even deal with Cornish elves, and he has turned Defence Against the Dark Arts into a drama class."

"But he's able to pass my test in a very short time," Calvin wondered, "it's so bizarre."

"And what do you think of the situation, Calvin?" Dumbledore's question seemed to mean something else.
