Chapter 32: Lockhart's Little Trick

Harry was desperate to find a crack to get into. He pulled Ron out of the crowd before replying, "It's too hot in the crowd, for no other reason."

"No, I asked you about the dueling class." Ron looked at Harry with a strange look, "It's tomorrow, do you want to go and see it?"

"Do you think she's going to ......" Harry's mind was clearly still on the girl named Cho Chang, who saw Cho tucking her long black hair behind her ears and talking and laughing with Cedric.

Harry felt his heart clogged.

"She? Did you say Hermione?" Ron didn't understand what Harry meant, he looked at Harry suspiciously, stood in front of Harry, and blocked his friend's gaze at Cho, "I think she'll definitely go."

It wasn't until Cho Chang disappeared from Harry's view that he came back to his senses and said in disguise, "Ah, yes, I think she'll go. Of course we're going to go."

Actually, Harry didn't want to go at first, he had taken dueling classes with Professor Capet, and with his strength, except for Ron, Hermione, Neville, oh yes, and Malfoy, he could crush everyone else in his second year.

But after seeing Cho Chang, he changed his mind and wanted to see if he could meet this girl in a dueling class.

By the way, which house is she from, what grade is she?

Harry stuck his head out to look at Cho Chang again, but she wasn't there anymore, much to Harry's disappointment.

Ron also noticed Harry's strange behavior at this time, and turned to follow Harry's gaze.

"What are you looking at?" Ron didn't find anyone or anything worth it.

"Nothing." Harry didn't want to tell Ron about the girl.

This kind of lie can't even be touched by Ron. He frowned and said, "Harry, what's wrong?"

Suddenly, as if he remembered something, he leaned over and whispered, "Did you hear that voice again?"

"No, but I can still hear it very often." Harry said quickly, quietly looking around, hoping to find Cho Zhang.

However, instead of seeing Cho Chang, he saw Hermione coming over with a stack of books.

"What are you talking about?" Hermione was in a good mood, "What's going on over there, it's so lively."

"There's a dueling class tomorrow," Ron said, "Harry and I are going to check it out, and I think you'll go too."

When Hermione heard about the dueling lesson, she wanted to say no, she thought the same as Harry. But her two best friends were going, so she had to go with her.

At eight o'clock the next night, Harry and Ron arrived in the auditorium.

At this time, almost all the students of the school came, surrounding a long golden gilded platform.

Both Harry and Ron were familiar with the stage, which was the venue for duels.

Hundreds of candles floated in the air, their orange-red firelight shining brightly on the gilded bench.

Harry and Ron struggled to squeeze to the front of the crowd, and tonight's pomp and circumstance was almost the same as that of Professor Cape's club that day.

"Harry, hey, come here."

Harry heard someone shouting at him, and looked over to Neville, Seamus, and Dean. It seems that the little wizards of Gryffindor are there. ….

When Harry Ron and they meet, they find Hermione here, reading a thin book.

"Everyone is so enthusiastic about the dueling class, I feel like the whole school is here." Neville said that his face was not as round as it was in his first year, and he felt that it was a credit to Professor Capet.

Harry didn't answer him, just craned his neck and kept looking at something.

"What are you looking at?" Ron asked.

Of course, Harry couldn't have said that he was looking for Cho Chang, so he casually said, "I'm looking to see if any professors are coming."

The professor was already here at this point.

Calvin looked at Snape in surprise from the hallway.

"What are you doing, Snape?" Calvin was the first to ask.

Snape's face darkened

Shen, he didn't expect to see Calvin here.

"I'm here to teach the students in dueling lessons. What about you, Cape?"

"I have the same purpose as you," Calvin felt a little uncomfortable, "but as far as I know, it doesn't seem like you're here for this lesson."

"Shouldn't that be you, don't you have a club of your own?" Snape's face also changed slightly, and he felt that he might have been tricked.

Just then, Lockhart finally appeared on the other side of the hallway. He walked briskly, waving his emerald green robe like a peacock with an open screen.

"Ha, I didn't expect my two assistants to arrive first."

Two assistants?

Calvin and Snape looked at each other, already understanding the depth of each other's eyes.

"I didn't expect you to be reduced to being an assistant to someone else."

"One to the other."

Neither of them was in a good mood, but it was clearly not the other's fault.

"Alright, gentlemen, let's get to class." The narcissistic Lockhart tidied up his attire, apparently not noticing the change in the faces of the two assistants he had found.

Lockhart was the first to enter the Great Hall, and Calvin and Snape looked at each other before following Lockhart.

Upon seeing Lockhart, Hermione excitedly closed the book, expecting her idol performance.

Harry, on the other hand, saw Lockhart and Snape first, and he couldn't help but wail in his heart, knowing that he was slightly relieved to see Professor Capet on the other side of Lockhart.

If it was two of the most hated professors in class, he would definitely not come back next time.

Lockhart stood on the long platform, his emerald green robe shining in the golden light, in stark contrast to the two people behind him in black robes.

Lockhart began his personable speech, first devoting ten minutes to the importance of dueling, in effect touting his own combat experience—Calvin could tell that he was merely piecing together other people's stories.

Good story tailor.

Lockhart then went on to advertise his book at length. For this, most students have developed immunity.

At the end of his speech, Lockhart took a minute to introduce his two assistants.

"Professors Capet and Snape are willing to assist me in teaching dueling lessons. Don't worry, just give them a little demonstration and they'll go back unharmed."

Calvin tried his best to control the sneer on his face, he had already guessed Lockhart's little trick, which was nothing more than to put himself and Snape on stage to cover up the duel, so that he would not reveal his true level.

It seems that you are not as stupid as I thought you were.

Snape had clearly guessed Lockhart's intentions, and for the third time today, he had intertwined his gaze with Calvin.

The idea came to them in their hearts - to snatch the lesson from Lockhart.

Now the two of them are both comrades-in-arms and rivals.
