Chapter XVIII: The Sorting Ceremony

After Dumbledore's figure disappeared, Rhine stepped on a flyboard, first flying around the Quidditch pitch and reliving it.

Then, the figure rose sharply and flew out from the top of the court.

Crossing the creek and through the arches of the castle, looking for the location of the vice-chancellor's office in memory.

Now, Rheinland's control over the flyboard has surpassed that of the broomstick.

It has to be said that for flying, Rhine has an unusual talent.

In the corridor to the vice principal's office, Rhine suddenly noticed that a figure was walking not far in front of him.

He couldn't help but lower his flyboard and slow down.

The man was dressed in a black robe, with a sallow complexion, and his long, oily hair hung down from the center of his eyebrows.

Pitch-black eyes, cold and unfathomable in their eyes, and a firm hooked nose full of aggression.

This man knew Rhine all too well, Severus Snape, the head of Slytherin, professor of Potions.

When he was in school, Rhine was a big hit with Snape, and Potions class was a nightmare for Rhine.

In fact, Potions is already one of the best subjects in Rhineland, after all, this kind of class has relatively low requirements for talent, and there are more things to memorize.

Rhine had a hard time understanding the pharmacology of those herbs, so he simply used the spare time of Quidditch training to memorize them.

And as a result, I still almost passed every time.

But Snape liked to ask questions full of divergent thinking, and the rote Rhine couldn't answer them at all.

Rhine didn't know how many times he was sarcastically ridiculed by this blackface professor, it was really an unbearable past.

Now that he is a professor, he understands Snape a little, and he is actually doing it for his own good...... Right?

Just thinking of this, Rhein saw Snape's expression.

He looked at himself like he had eaten a fly. It made Rhine almost wonder if he had fallen under the Transfiguration Charm and turned into a cockroach or a lump of dung.

Snape's expression made Rhine also put away his kind smile and changed it to a polite smile.

"Long time no see, Professor Snape." Rhine said hello.

Snape stopped in front of Rhine and looked up slightly, meeting Rhine's eyes.

Because Rheinland lowered the height of the flyboard, he was only half a head taller than Snape.

Snape looked Rhine up and down, and then his face darkened, as if squeezing a sentence out of his nose:

"I hope you can grow a little bit in the year you graduate, I really don't want to see two more fools in the professor at once."

With that, Snape angrily passed by Rhine.

Rhein raised an eyebrow, what do you call two fools?

Oh yes.

Only then did he realize that there was indeed a stupid professor who had come to teach Defense Against the Dark Arts class this semester.

Rhein shook his head, it seemed that Snape was angry with Lockhart just now, and he didn't mean to target him.

But it can also be seen from Snape's attitude that he does not think that Rhine has the ability to teach students.

We'll see.

Rhine took a moment to complete and continued to control the flyboard forward.

After reporting to Professor McGonagall, Rheinland was given his own office, bedroom, and dedicated classroom.

The classrooms are old warehouses that have been cleaned inside and out by house-elves, and the desks are neatly arranged.

It's just that, relatively speaking, it's nearly half smaller than a normal classroom.

It seems that although the school has agreed to introduce new elective subjects, after all, there are two words for electives, and they may think that their new subjects will not attract many students.

Rhine didn't care, after all, gold always shines, and he is not in a hurry.

The layout of the new classroom is somewhat similar to that of the Defence Against the Dark Arts classroom, except that the office is not on the staircase, but on a side façade.

The three rooms are connected, and the office is in the middle of the classroom and bedroom.

In addition to classes, the office will be the place where the Rheinland spends the most.

Rhein stood in the middle of his office, raising his hand and waving his wand.

The luggage came out of the suitcase of the Traceless Stretching Charm, and the clothes, shoes, and a few notebooks flew to their reasonable positions automatically.

Finally, Rhein went to the bedroom and took out a safe.

When I opened it, I saw that Voldemort's journal was still lying inside.

In the past month, Rhine has given Voldemort more than 20 spell questions, and now Voldemort has learned almost half of the knowledge of the magic gun.

This speed is already on par with Hermione, and even stronger than Hermione.

After all, Rhine taught Hermione without selfishness, and he constantly set obstacles for Voldemort.

Rhein relocked the safe, then stuffed it into the closet, and placed it in the lowest and most hidden place.

After closing the cabinet door, Rhein closed his eyes and brought up the tech tree interface.

[Influence: 6/3000] [Technology Points: 0]

[1. Whenever 1 person successfully uses a magic weapon, the influence is +0.5]

[2. Whenever 1 person is proficient in the inscription method of a technological spell, the influence +2]

[4. (27/30) Within a day, the influence reaches the target, and the technology point is +1]

[5. (12/15) Within a day, the influence does not reach the goal, palpitations remind +1]

[Special Mission 2: (72/100) Kill the Basilisk in the Hogwarts Chamber of Secrets with a magic weapon during the day, +100 influence]

[Special Mission 3: (72/100) Destroy "Tom Riddle's Diary" with a magic weapon during the day, influence +100]

……

The other missions didn't change much, but to Rhine's surprise, the impact of using magic weapons was cut in half.

In this way, the task becomes a little more difficult.

Rhine intends to rely on normal missions to gain influence first, and in the meantime, he will find time to study how to use magic weapons to unleash the basilisk.

When the time limit is approaching, consider giving up one of them, and 200 influence is also fragrant.

After settling in, Rhein returned to his office, took out the materials he had brought with him, and began to make the flyboard.

Two days passed in a flash, and when Rheinland made two flying boards again, the opening ceremony was about to begin.

"Professor Embers, the students are almost here, and the Headmaster invites you to the auditorium."

Filch stood at the door of his office, respectfully addressing the Rhine.

Ever since Filch learned that Rhein had become a professor at Hogwarts, he was overjoyed.

Because that meant it would be easier for him to buy magic bullets from Rhein, and he wouldn't have to spend too much time on the road.

Just yesterday, Filch managed to fool Dumbledore into buying a magic gun from Rhine.

In fact, it was more likely that Dumbledore wanted to buy it himself, and Filch couldn't fool this wise old man.

However, it turned out to be good, and Filch bought three magic bullets again.

Of course, there is still no offensive magic.

Until Filch completely changes and no longer harbors ill will towards his students, Rhein won't sell him that kind of ammunition.

Rhine was writing something at the desk at this time, and raised his head and replied, "Okay, I see, Mr. Filch." Please tell Headmaster Dumbledore that I'll be there soon. ”

"Okay, Professor." Filch retreated, helping Rhine secure them by the way.

Rhine finished the last sentence and stacked this piece of paper with the others.

Three flyboards flew under Rhine's control, and Rhine split the thick stack of paper into two parts and placed them on two of them.

Finally, he changed into a very elaborate suit himself, stepped on the flyboard, and left the office.

Rhine didn't let the paper-laden flyboard into the Great Hall with him, he first greeted Dumbledore before flying to his place and sitting down.

The auditorium was still luxurious, with four rows of tables and chairs neatly arranged under the stage, and the senior students were already seated in their seats, and everyone was waiting.

There was also a chair in front of the headmaster's desk with an old wizard's hat on it.

Rhine knew that it was a sorting hat for the new little wizards.

In a few moments, Professor McGonagall led a group of small children through the aisle of the long table to the podium.

"Before the ceremony begins, Professor Dumbledore has a few words to say to everyone."

Professor McGonagall looked at the young wizards and said expertly. She repeats this phrase every year, and she has said it dozens of times.

Then, Dumbledore stood up, and the old voice rang out in the mouth of a beard as long as Santa Claus.

"I have a few precautions to announce for the start of school, first-year freshmen pay attention, this school strictly prohibits any students from entering the dark forest, it is a forbidden forest. Also, our Administrator, Mr. Filch, I want to remind you ......"

As Dumbledore spoke, Rhein glanced over and realized that only one of the freshmen was someone he knew.

If I'm not mistaken, the little girl's name is Ginny Weasley, and the two of them met that day at the Blotted Bookstore.

According to the historical trajectory, Lucius should have stuffed Voldemort's notes into Ginny's keg at that time.

And his appearance changed Lucius's mind, and this old silver coin stuffed the notes to himself.

Rhine glanced twice more and noticed a little girl who was different.

She had silver hair that seemed to be dark blonde, eyes with silver-white iris, clear and bright like jewels, pale complexion, and pale eyebrows.

He wears a pair of turnip-shaped earrings on his ears and a necklace around his neck that looks like they are made of bottle stoppers.

This is not something that can be described by killing Matt, this is not a strange species, and it is difficult not to attract attention.

Rhine felt that the girl in the strange costume seemed to be somewhat familiar, and it seemed to be called ...... Luna?

By this time, Dumbledore had finished speaking and sat back.

Professor McGonagall, on the other hand, opened a piece of parchment in her hand and said to the young wizards, "Come to the front, and I will put the Sorting Hat on your head, and then determine the house you are going to." ”

Professor McGonagall called out the name of a little wizard, and the chubby little creature stepped forward and sat down in his chair.

The Sorting Hat landed on top of his head, writhing and muttering thoughts.

After a while, it roared, "Gryffindor! ”

As soon as he finished speaking, the long tables filled with Gryffindor students erupted in applause.

Rhine suddenly thought of an interesting picture from his previous life, when the Sorting Hat was put on his head and yelled "Azkaban", when Rhine almost laughed out of his abs.

One by one, the little wizards stepped forward, and were then assigned to one of the academies.

Until the end, Rhine remembered only two names.

One was Ginny Weasley, who was assigned to Gryffindor, a symbol of courage, and the other was Luna Lovegood, who was assigned to Ravenclaw, a symbol of wisdom.

After the last Little Wizard Sorting was over, Headmaster Dumbledore stood up again.

"I have a few words to say before you get carried away by the delicious meal."

All the wizards stopped communicating with each other and focused their attention on the podium.

"First of all, let's welcome the new arrival Professor Gilderoy Lockhart, who has readily agreed to fill the vacancy and teach the Defence Against the Dark Arts course."
