Chapter 30: Travel
A month later.
On the official road outside Puzhou City, a team of people and horses walked forward.
Huan Ci sat in the swaying carriage, looking out at the endless fields in the distance.
A few days ago, the good news of Yunzhou's recovery came to the capital, and Zong Zhengyuan showed a rare smile. The officials negotiating with the Hu people had already set off for the border, and the curtain finally came to an end on the protracted war.
Zong Zhengyuan was overjoyed, rewarded his father with a pile of gold and silver treasures, and rewarded others who participated in the war for meritorious deeds. Originally, he wanted to tour the area in person, but under the strong persuasion of the ministers, he failed to realize this plan, and instead let Zong Zhengtou pick up the errand.
My father had just won the battle and was gaining popularity among the people. The Queen Mother thought that Huan Ci was idle in Beijing every day, and she didn't know that Huan Ci swore that she would never leave Beijing, so she ordered her to follow Zong Zhengche out to play for a while, and go back to see her father by the way.
Zong Zhengyuan did not stop this, but just summoned her into the palace and said some good things, and rewarded her with some silver as the cost of playing.
Because of this war, my father's savings have been folded into a lot, and Zong Zhengyuan's side is generous. His meaningless flattery only made Huan Ci even more disgusted with him.
However, at this time, these boredoms have been forgotten. She and Zong Zhengche have been away from Beijing for ten days, and now they have only come to Puzhou City slowly.
Puzhou City is the seat of Puzhou, and the Governor's Mansion was built in this city. Zong Zhengche is the governor of Puzhou, and he must have lived in the governor's mansion temporarily when he came here.
Thinking that the current Puzhou Governor Shi is that person, Huan Ci felt flustered. Before tidying up last night, she saw the earrings he had sent back again. originally thought that the two might be in the future, but who expected that they would meet again so soon.
"County Lord, the prince said that he will be there immediately, please pack your belongings." The messenger suddenly shouted outside the curtain.
"I see." Huan Ci replied softly.
She took two deep breaths, and her originally tense expression changed to a smile.
Soon, the team stopped in place, and Huan Ci jumped out of the carriage with the help of A-Yao.
A stone's throw away, it was the man she was afraid to see, but she wanted to see. He had taken off his heavy winter clothes and put on a smart robe, and his moon-white clothes were particularly conspicuous in the crowd.
The man seemed to see her too, glancing over the side, intentionally or unintentionally.
The group of them went to the place where Zong Zhengche was standing, and Huan Ci took A-Yao to greet him.
Everyone was greeting the prince, and when they saw Huan Ci, they all turned their heads to look at her.
Zong Zhengche chuckled: "This is the daughter of King Dingyuan, the county lord of Ding'an, you can be regarded as having seen it today." β
When the first few people heard this, they actually moved their eyes to Fu Shen, and even more their eyes wandered over the two of them.
Huan Ci's already fake smile seemed even more stiff.
I really didn't expect that even the people here had heard the rumors, and it seems that they are not completely ignorant of the reason why Fu Shen came here.
"The county lord is worthy of being the daughter of the king of Dingyuan, and she is really extraordinary and outstanding."
I don't know who shouted in the crowd, which eased the awkward atmosphere.
Zong Zhengche shook his head with a smile and said, "We have been on the road for two days, and now we are hungry and have no strength, let us rest." β
The officials didn't know what he was joking, but they hurriedly got out of the way and asked him to go first.
No matter what the reputation of the county lord of Ding'an is, he is now a candidate for the future crown princess. His Royal Highness the Crown Prince doesn't care about this, which turn will they worry about?
Although Zong Zhengche was joking, Huan Ci was indeed tired, and it was inconvenient for everyone to talk to her, so Zong Zhengche was so busy that he couldn't leave the ground.
As she expected, they were indeed placed in the Grand Governor's Palace. Jong Jeong-cheol only planned to stay here for three or four days before setting off for Jinju, so everything was easy.
After all, the two have not yet married, Zong Zhengche has paid more attention to proportionality along the way than when he was in Yingdu, and it is rare to see him in front of him in ten days.
I am afraid to return home, and I should be able to go to Bingzhou in ten days. Thinking that he would see his father soon, Huan Ci's mood was much brighter. It's just a pity that although she left Beijing, A-Yao was left behind by Zong Zhengyuan. I couldn't take her out this time, Huan Ci was very bored along the way, and he talked less than usual.
After resting and getting up, a little girl outside the door was telling her to go hunting.
I like this very much, and now is the right time for hunting.
After changing into a heroic blue riding outfit, she went out happily. The carriages and horses had already been arranged, and everyone soon arrived at the hunting ground.
After lifting the curtain, she saw Zong Zhengche in the courtyard. The man wore a soap-colored riding suit, but he was more handsome than usual.
Huan Ci stared at him thoughtfully. The man seemed to feel something, glanced back at her, and then came on horseback.
"I think it's okay for you to be idle, so you might as well go out for a walk. It's too dangerous to hunt, you stay here, I'll go to the mountains first, and I'll be back before dark. Zong Zhengche rode on the back of the horse and whispered.
"Go ahead, I'll make my own arrangements." Huan Ci grinned.
Hunting won't let her go, what's the joke? Break up the sect first, and when she wants to go, others may not be able to stop her.
Zong Zhengche glanced at her with a strange expression, but he didn't think much about it, and led everyone to set off first on horseback.
The warm spring breeze, the bright warm sun, everything is so pleasant. Huan Ci jumped out of the carriage and looked left and right at the horses looking for her.
Just before she came, she went to the stable to find her treasure chasing the wind, and let a guard ride it.
The guard was also looking for her, and when he spotted her, he rushed to her.
"County Lord, this is really a good horse." The man laughed at the corners of his mouth and reluctantly stroked the horse beside him.
"You're quite discerning." Huan Ci threw him a piece of silver, and happily turned over and got on his horse.
The horse was a gift from her father when she was young, a newborn foal who was now more than six years old.
I haven't ridden a horse for a long time, and Huan Ci misses this feeling very much, and presumably the same is true for chasing the wind, so he carnival with her.
"The county lordβ"
Behind her, several people shouted at the top of their voices. Huan Ci turned back and smiled at them, and rode past them. The people looked at each other in confusion, and after a long time, they realized that Huan Ci had more bows and arrows in his hand.
"The county lord is quite handsome." One of the attendants muttered.
"What does it have to do with you? The toad wants to eat swan meat. Another teased.
"When do I want to eat?" The man raised his fist and was about to smash her, but he was frightened by the silent appearance in front of him.
"Your Excellency." His face flushed, and he looked nervously at Fu Shen.
"Where did she go?" Although Fu Shen was talking to her, his eyes were looking at the place where the county lord had disappeared.
"Over there." The attendant pointed in the direction that Fu Shen was looking at.
The adults knew it, so why did they ask him?
