Volume 1 The Philosopher's Stone Chapter 36 The Tribe of the Moon God

On the barren land, a group of people is slowly moving forward.

The group consisted of a large number of werewolves and a human, and the werewolves surrounded the humans in the middle, and they seemed to be a little afraid of the men in the middle.

The man was dressed in a black robe, a black hood, and a black gloved left hand, holding a plain-shaped box.

None other than Martin.

He had just offered to talk to the werewolves after dealing with the werewolf leader. He was actually betting that he had already shown a certain strength, and whether the werewolf's residual beastly brain would be temporarily deterred.

He understood that this was his only chance to learn more about Karnstein, and he didn't believe that there was no secret behind the object known as the "Angel's Eyes", and he was betting on the gold content of this information that could only be obtained by withstanding the madness of the Twin Flames.

So when the werewolves didn't have the confidence to ask him what he wanted to talk about, he only said one word.

The word that had been in his mind countless times:

"Gethsemane."

What happened next was a bit of a surprise to him, and the werewolves were shocked when they heard his words, and they began to exchange ears, and Martin only vaguely heard them repeatedly mention the words "land of betrayal", "faun", "prophecy", and so on.

Finally, the werewolves say they can talk, but in their territory.

The werewolves promised not to harm the Hihian before the end of the conversation, so Martin went with them to the werewolf territory, after all, if they had other plans, they could have taken him hostage instead of taking him away.

"It seems that 'Gethsemane' is very important to the werewolves, what secret is hidden in this?" Martin thought to himself.

As he was leaving, Horn grabbed Martin and whispered in his ear:

"Werewolves love opals, to the point of obsession."

Martin nodded, Horn must have seen himself and Hines bidding for Hithian in opals, so he reminded himself.

Martin followed the werewolves for a while, and he found that there was nothing on the land except rocks, wind and sand, and the werewolves seemed to have long been accustomed to the scenery here, and no one made a sound, making the land even more empty and dead.

"How long have you been here?" Martin asked the werewolf next to him.

The werewolf listened to Martin's words and looked puzzled.

"We were born here, and we will continue to serve the Tree of Life until Lord Anupis returns."

He obviously had a huge wolf head, but when he said this, he showed a pious expression.

"What is the Tree of Life?"

"It's the golden pagoda that guards Lord Anupis, and it's the signpost that guides him back."

The werewolf's face darkened after answering this, and he stopped talking to Martin.

Martin was a little surprised to hear the "tree of life" because he had heard it from Belisarius.

That's when he asked Belisarius about the origin of the name "Tree Capital" of Cavides, and the old man said that the name came from the legend of the "Tree of Life" in ancient times.

Legend has it that the area where Cavides is located originally belonged to several heterogeneous tribes. There used to be a huge ancient tree here, which stood on the earth, towering into the sky, I don't know how many years it has existed, and was called "the tree of life" and "the vein of the earth".

However, in a later earth-shattering fissure, tidal waves of golden magma emerged from huge cracks in the ground, and the "Tree of Life" and many xenotribes were all submerged by these scorching magma, and disappeared forever, leaving only the name of "Tree Capital" to survive.

Martin combined the werewolf's words with the legend of the "Tree Capital", and he seemed to get a glimpse of something behind the name of this [Tree of Life], but he didn't catch it, and he was a little annoyed.

And while he was thinking about this, they came to their destination, what these werewolves called "territory".

Martin looked at the majestic building in the distance, and was speechless for a moment.

It turned out to be a huge pyramid.

The pyramid as a whole has four layers, each of which is reduced on the basis of the lower layer, and the spire of the top layer is actually suspended upside down in the sky, emitting a dazzling golden light, as if it was made of a huge piece of gold.

On the surface of the spire in the direction of Martin, the outline of a magnificent giant tree clearly emerged, and I don't know if it was carved into the surface of the pyramid or if there was a towering tree in it.

The great tree had a wide range of branches and foliage, and covered the part of the base with the spire facing upward, but its roots were only a few short and narrow tufts of roots that grew to the top of the spire, which was the part closest to the next floor.

"The pyramid with the 'Tree of Life'..."

"It's the pyramid again..."

Martin was shocked to think that this was not from his memories of his past life, but from what he had seen yesterday.

On the prophetic card named [Sage], the palm of the left hand of the person in the painting is lowered, and there is also a tetrahedron, which is the shape of a pyramid.

Seeing the same thing two days in a row made it hard for him not to connect them.

He calmed his shock and walked with the werewolf to the bottom of the pyramid.

I saw that the three-story pyramid was connected by a wide staircase avenue, Martin stood at the foot of the mountain and looked out, the stairs were like the trail of Mount Tai that he had climbed in his previous life, revealing the ancient atmosphere, and there was no end in sight, but the steps here were much wider and more majestic than those of Mount Tai.

Martin and the werewolves climbed halfway up and looked back, and they could still faintly see the tent they had come from, which could only be said that the pyramid was too high.

After a long time, they finally climbed to the top of the third floor, only to see a towering temple here, dozens of huge stone pillars carved with unknown patterns supporting the dome, and after entering the temple through the stone pillars, Martin found that in the vast hall, a group of werewolves were performing some ritual around a hooded figure.

And in the deepest part of the main hall, there is a tall throne made of gold, and in the middle of the throne, there is a huge skull.

The skull generally took on the appearance of a wolf's head, but on its head it had two long, curved horns, like the rumored demons, and two dark hollows in the eye sockets stared at the approaching Martin.

Martin stopped, and saw the hooded figure in the center of the temple waving a tin staff covered with flint and metal in his hand, looking at a broken stone slab in front of him, and chanting in a muffled voice:

"At the top of the golden pagoda where the Temple of the Moon God stands, below the Tree of Life,

Sleeping Anupis.

He is the male wolf of the Hall of the Monument, the chariot of the earth;

He holds us in His hands, but there is no other hand that can hold Him. ”

"It's all because of a woman,

She was dressed in bright red and adorned with blood pearls,

She had in her hand a glass full of abominations and her immorality,

She is Karnstein, the mother of prostitutes and vampires,

She betrayed the Hall of the Obelisk, betrayed the Seat of Angels. ”

"And one day,

Anupis will take Carnstein's relics with him,

Returning from the flames,

At that time, the tree of life will be reborn. ”

Martin saw that the man in the white hood had the strength of a human being, but his head, hidden in the hood, was neither a human nor a wolf's head, but a heron.
