Volume 1 The Philosopher's Stone Chapter 39 The Notes of the Red Shoes
"That's probably what [the perfumer] put there beforehand." Martin said he had thought about it on the way in.
"Let's think there really is such a child, and in the end he turned into a statue and successfully escaped."
Martin's reasoning seemed to provide a smooth and plausible explanation for the whole thing, and Horn couldn't think of anything that didn't make sense for the time being.
"Wait." Horn interrupted again.
"Have you seen the mother and son before?"
"I saw them get out of the car with me and Mr. Hines." Martin replied.
"But I'm not sure they were in the car before."
Martin meant that the perfumer may have created these two virtual images at the door of the Sunflower Carriage, so that they would not feel that the appearance of the mother and son was abrupt at the auction.
"If I were a perfumer, why would I choose to do it in the Sunflower Carriage when I can create a virtual phase of the [True Dream]?"
"Or, I've already set up the [Silver Triumph Car], why would I still create a [Real Dream] at the auction?"
Horn asks two questions in a row, and he finds something that doesn't make sense.
"There's only one possibility." Martin said the same sentence again.
"The purpose of this [True Dream] is not the [Prophetic Card] in the [Sunflower Carriage]."
"That's?"
"It's the other four [prophetic cards] on Hines."
Ciaan replied that she had heard Horn talk about the details of the Mune woman's reprimand for Hynes for stealing the five Prophet cards, and she followed Martin's train of thought.
"That's right." Martin nodded.
"If I were a perfumer," he said, he began to hypothesize.
"In the case that I'm not sure where Hines put the rest of the [Prophet Cards], the safest way is of course to take the [Prophet Cards] that Hines consigned in an incomprehensible way, and force him to confirm the situation of the rest of the [Prophet Cards]."
"Then snatch the [Prophet Card] and remove him when he confirms the situation." Martin voiced his speculation.
"But that's still not enough to explain why the [perfumer] would stage a [real dream] in full view."
Horn continued to ask, and he had somewhat enjoyed the process of deriving from the young man.
"I think there could be two reasons for that." Martin seemed to be thinking too, and he was slow to answer.
The first is to reinforce Hines's concerns about the other prophetic cards. If the mother and son had been able to escape without a trace of the trap they had already set in place, there would be no place for Cavides that they could not go. ”
"The second is to deter Hines with his strange strength, so that he does not come to the [Screaming Tent] tomorrow morning, then he will not find the items in the tent, let him stay in what he thinks is a safe area, and deal with him when he relaxes his vigilance."
"Perhaps the third point is that this [perfumer] is extremely confident and vain in his abilities, and he enjoys the feeling of fooling everyone." Martin added with a somewhat strange look on his face.
"It's horrible......" said Anne, who had been listening quietly beside her.
"Where is Mr. Hines now?" Xixian asked.
Martin frowned when he heard this, and he seemed to think of a possibility.
"[Sunflower Carriage]." He replied.
"Mr. Hines's stay in the [Sunflower Carriage] means that he has placed the remaining four [Prophet Cards] in the auction house." Horn continued to speculate on Martin's words.
"That means that the [perfumer] is also in the auction house."
"Combined with the placement of the [Silver Triumphant Car], is the [Perfumer] actually the person in the [Sunflower Carriage]......?"
Horn summed up as he touched his chin.
Martin thought back to everything that had happened at the auction, the scent of the woman from yesterday, the purple mist on her......
"Guys, I probably know who the [perfumer] is..."
Martin said to the crowd with a frown.
"The question now is, how can we get out early and remind or even save Hines."
Horn and the others also understood the urgency of the current time, and did not ask Martin again about the identity of the perfumer.
"Annie, do you know the rules of the [Screaming Tent]?" Martin suddenly asked Anne, who was listening intently.
"I've only been to Hines before, and I don't know anything else."
William smiled disdainfully when he heard Martin ask about Anne's behavior.
Anne didn't expect Martin to ask herself questions, she had always positioned herself as a bystander, and she had the feeling of facing the governess that her father had hired in front of her.
"I... I know. Anne said intermittently.
"I've been to [the screaming tent] a lot, I've been in almost every time of the day." She understood the importance of time now, and slowly quickened the speed at which she spoke.
"The first to open is [The Note of the Red Shoes], the time is around half past eight to half past ten in the evening, it is a means used by the [Scream Tent] to attract guests, and the dancing girl sister in it is very beautiful."
Then Anne whispered, "I'm sorry, I shouldn't have said this unimportant..."
"Then there are performances by the acrobats and the Grand Duke of Magic, from half past ten to half past one the next day."
"And then there's the [Game of Magic Lights], and the time is..."
"Okay, needless to say." Martin interrupted her softly.
"I'm afraid that the [Screaming Tent] of Cavides actually corresponds to many different tents, and at worst, these tents are not all connected to the [Dark Side of the Moon]."
Martin said, looking at the figure of the werewolf outside the tent.
"And if these tents are on the dark side of the moon, then we should be in the [Red Shoes Note] by 8:36, so that we can get back to Cavides tonight instead of seven o'clock tomorrow morning."
"But how do we get there?" Anne asked rhetorically.
"I'm going to ask the werewolves outside." Martin thought for a moment and replied.
Soon after, Martin was led by the werewolves along with Horn, Cecian, Anne, and William as they trudged through the desert under the werewolf's mental assault.
Martin collects some of their collapsing slime and tissue as usual, which complicates Horn's thoughts, which are a little curious about him, and Anne even looks scared when Martin does so.
"I didn't expect that after the [Screaming Tent], it was all [Dark Side of the Moon], and the Inquisition and the Foundation didn't find out?"
Horn walked a little tired, and his physical fitness didn't seem to be very good.
"Maybe it's because the [Reindeer Market] where it's located has just opened, and I haven't heard of this shop in previous years." Anne said.
Martin was also a little confused after Horn said this.
After a long journey, they finally came to the outside of another tent, which was the same as Hines's one, but was much more spacious than the one they had been staying on.
There were many pennants hung in the tent, and there were many seats, an open field, and in the deepest part there was a stage covered by a red curtain, and its name was written on the top of the stage with a crooked flower body:
[The note of the red shoe].
The werewolves covered the tent outside, and Martin nodded to them, and they were the only ones left in the tent again.
They seemed to have waited for a while, and as if they had been waiting for a long time, finally, the time came at 8:36 p.m.
I saw that on the stage where there was no one, the red curtains were slowly rolled up to both sides, and the melodious music came from it.
A woman in a red tulle skirt and a pearl-adorned headdress and veil danced a waltz from the backstage to the foreground.
Her figure is so beautiful, her looks are so reverie, and her dance steps are so light and graceful.
At this time, outside the tent, the noisy crowd gradually sounded.
