Chapter 168: Dumbledore Takes Matters Personally
The captain of the Gryffindor team was Oliver Wood, who was now in his seventh year, but his mind was completely off his Newts exams, and his passion was all given to Quidditch.
However, Wood's enthusiasm for Quidditch was not reciprocated, and he was an unlucky fellow who arrived at Hogwarts just a year after Charlie Weasley's departure, and the beginning of the nightmare of the Gryffindor Quidditch team's seven-game losing streak.
Despite his failures, Wood's passion for Quidditch never changed, especially when he became captain.
Under his tutelage were the Weasley brothers, the best batsmen, and chasers Alia Spinnett, Angelina Johnson and Katie Bell were all excellent players, and he was a skilled goalkeeper himself.
With Harry's appearance, their weakest link as a Seeker was finally filled.
But nothing is more tragic than this, when the duck in the pot suddenly flew away when it was nine years old, and the Quidditch Cup, which Harry was supposed to have in his hands after joining the team, missed them twice in a row due to accidents.
Wood only had one year left to stay at Hogwarts, and this year was his only chance he couldn't afford to pass up.
Wood was gambling that he was not only gambling on his Newts exams, but also on his future for the sake of his Quidditch Cup dream.
Having invested too much in Quidditch, Wood's learning was a mess. He has already made up his mind to join the Quidditch professional after graduation, and if he can successfully win the Quidditch Cup, he can easily become a professional player with this resume.
He had cut off his path to other professions in the wizarding world, and if that didn't work, his future could be predicted.
"The last two years of the Quidditch Cup should have had our team's name on it. Ever since Harry joined our team, I've always thought of trophies as something we had our hands on them. But we didn't get the trophy and this year is our last chance to see the trophy with our name ... โ
During the first Quidditch training of the school year, even Fred and George couldn't help but sympathize with Wood when they saw him say it so down.
"Oliver, this is our year." Fred said.
"We'll win, Oliver!" Angelina said.
"I'm going to win!" Harry said.
The team started training with confidence, three times a week. It's getting colder, it's getting wetter, and the nights are getting darker. However, no matter how much mud there is, wind or rain, it cannot shake their belief -
They're going to win that huge Silver Quidditch Cup!
While Harry and the others were busy training, Maple wasn't idle.
Maple and Hermione now seem to have confirmed their relationship, but it was the easiest school year for Harry, and the least injured school year for Harry, and they didn't have time to date.
Hermione had chosen too many courses, and because of the instigation of Maple's butterfly wings, she had more alchemy from Nicolamet, and her time was full. If it weren't for Harry on the Quidditch team, she wouldn't even want to go to a Quidditch match.
The only thing Maple could do was to sneak into the kitchen at night and ask the elves to serve Hermione a supper.
Maple didn't have much more time than Hermione, and he was now learning advanced transfiguration for advanced spells, and the depth of these spells he had learned was about the same as that of a seventh-year student.
With the exception of a few geniuses such as Dumbledore and Voldemort, few students are able to delve their magic to the top before graduating. The school library naturally has top-notch Transfiguration and Defence Against the Dark Arts lessons, but the meaning of their existence is more for the students' reference, and only a few can really get something out of them.
Hermione devoured all kinds of knowledge, and Maple spent most of her time improving her combat effectiveness.
In addition to practicing magic, Maple spends a considerable part of his time freeing himself from Mary's entanglement. The childhood sweetheart of the orphanage, Maple really doesn't know how to refuse, and the sticky brother is a little scary!
Before you know it, Halloween is here for another school year. There's another thing to look forward to for third-year students, and that's the first Hogsmeade weekend.
Harry was a little depressed at this time, although Maple had bought Dursley to sign Harry's Hogsmeade form, but he knew from Mr. Weasley that Sirius Black had escaped from the magical prison Azkaban to get revenge on him, and that Azkaban's guards, the Dementors, were stationed at Hogwarts to deal with Black.
Professor McGonagall must have known this, so Harry probably wouldn't have been able to go to Hogsmeade even if he had Uncle Dursley's signature.
"This is easy to do, two ways, you pick one yourself. One is that you go over with an invisibility cloak, as long as you wear an invisibility cloak all the time, Black can't see you and can't do anything about you. The other way is to drink the polyjuice decoction and become another person's appearance, Blake is going to deal with Harry, and if he doesn't see Harry, Blake will naturally not risk appearing. Maple said.
Even without these preparations, Harry would not have had an accident, because it was not Harry that Blake was dealing with at all, and his real target was in the hands of Maple.
Speaking of Peter Pettigrew, Maple was also convinced, and at first he was a little uncomfortable being trapped in the vial, but after so many days, Maple did not give him to Dumbledore or Black, and Peter Pettigrew suddenly found that it was much safer to stay in the vial like this.
There was no big cat to be scary, no big dog to frighten him, and Peter had gained a lot of weight under his wide heart and fat body.
Maple was also speechless, he really couldn't understand Peter's thoughts, who had been a mouse for more than twenty years.
While the object of the Animagus Transfiguration reflects the state of mind of the wizard, the personality of the sorcerer after the completion of the Animagus Transfiguration is also unconsciously changing towards the object of the transformation.
Sirius's personality is like a grumpy dog, a normal person who can be a mouse for more than ten years like Peter Pettigrew, and his personality is also as cowardly and timid as a rat.
"Great idea!" Ron said happily.
If Harry hadn't brought up Hogsmeade, Maple wouldn't have remembered Blake. Ever since putting Peter in a bottle, Maple has simply put the Blake affair behind her.
Presumably, Sirius Black is still frantic at the moment, since Spotted's disappearance, Hermione's cat Crookshank has rarely appeared in front of them, and it seems that he is also looking for Spotted's whereabouts.
However, Maple had no intention of handing over Spotted, and let Peter Pettigrew show up to tell the truth, and Sirius Black, who had been imprisoned for twelve years, turned out to be innocent, which was undoubtedly the biggest scandal for the Ministry of Magic.
As you can imagine, Fudge's most likely course of action would be to give Peter Pettigrew a Dementor kiss.
In fact, the easiest way to identify a Death Eater is the Dark Mark mark, Dumbledore knew this, but Sirius Black was still wronged for more than ten years. Once this scandal is brought out, there will inevitably be a rift between the Ministry of Magic and Dumbledore.
If there was only one boss of Voldemort, Maple would not be afraid, but a pair of Pandora sisters who inexplicably appeared last year and the vampires who came to steal the show before made Maple suddenly realize that the darkness of this world is far from what he knows.
After discovering these, there was a system in the body, and Maple didn't dare to be too prodigal. At this stage, Maple felt that it was better to be still, and Peter just kept him from going to Albania to find Voldemort.
The next day, before the Transfiguration class, there was a commotion in the classroom.
Lavender Brown seemed to be crying. Parvati wrapped her arms around her shoulders and was explaining something to Simophinegan and Dean Thomas.
"What's the matter, Lavender?" Hermione asked.
"She received a letter from home this morning," Parvati whispered, "that her rabbit Binki had been bitten to death by a fox. โ
"Oh," said Hermione, "it's a pity, Lavender. โ
"I should have known this a long time ago!" Rashmud said sadly, "Do you know what day it is? โ
"What day?"
'October 16th!' The one you're afraid of, it's going to happen on October 16th! 'Remember?' She's right, she's right! โ
Hermione was about to rebuke the ridiculous thing, but just as she was about to speak, she suddenly thought of Professor Trelawney's prophecy about Mapleโ
You will lose your most precious thing!
It's fake, Professor Trelawney is a liar, how can she be taken seriously.
The most precious thing is life, or is it?
The clever Hermione quickly remembers the Boggart of Defence Against the Dark Arts class -
No wonder he behaved so strangely at the time, because he was worried that the object of Professor Trelawney's prophecy was me.
Fake, right, how could it be?
Hermione thought it was ridiculous, but she hesitated. Just then, Professor McGonagall opened the door to the classroom. Hermione put the question behind her for the time being, and she was going to ask Professor McGonagall about it after class. Compared to Professor Trelawney, who didn't feel very reliable, Hermione felt that Professor McGonagall's words were more trustworthy.
The bell rang for the end of class, and as the students were about to get up and leave the classroom, Professor McGonagall first brought up the topic of Hogsmeadeโ
"Please wait a moment! You are all from my house, and you should hand me the application form before Halloween. If you don't turn in the form, don't go to Hogsmeade. So, don't forget! โ
Neville raised his hand.
"Professor, I, I think I lost that watch."
"Your grandmother gave me the watch directly, Longbottom," said Professor McGonagall, "and she seems to think it would be safer to do so. Well, there's nothing left, you guys can leave. โ
When Professor Lupin wrote to Mrs. Longbottom about Boggart's lesson, Neville's grandmother was overjoyed. Because of what happened to her son and daughter-in-law, Mrs. Longbottom did not blindly avoid Voldemort like other people in the wizarding world, and she felt sincerely proud to see her grandson so brave. When she saw the contents of the letter, Mrs. Longbottom wept with joy.
Despite this, though, she didn't seem to be reassured by Neville's memory.
"Potter, you stay!"
Sure enough, Harry chuckled inwardly.
Not surprisingly, Professor McGonagall repeated what Mr. Weasley had said to Harry.
"So, for your safety, I can't allow you to go to Hogsmeade." Professor McGonagall said solemnly.
"Okay!" Harry couldn't help but be glad that he had the idea of Maple, otherwise he would have been left alone in the school.
The Cloak of Invisibility is not a good thing to tell Professor McGonagall, otherwise it will be too inconvenient when she goes out at night in the future.
Maple woke up early that day, because in addition to going to Hogsmeade with Harry, he had to prepare a wolf poison potion for Professor Lupin.
Now that Maple and Professor Lupin are familiar with each other, Professor Lupin was a little overwhelmed when Maple first came to deliver the medicine.
Lupin teaches them that they are like the feudal women who were bullied in the past, and it is not their fault that they have become werewolves, but they have endured more accusations and discrimination than their abusers, and they themselves have become sensitive and inferior.
Maple told Lupin about the fact that he had taken in a group of werewolves in Tumbledown Alley, and Lupin never expected that his student not only did not discriminate against him, but also did so much to werewolves.
Professor Lupin was impressed, and Maple instantly rose to the same status as Dumbledore in his heart, and readily agreed to Maple's invitation. Agree to go to Tumbledown Alley after leaving Hogwarts to lead and teach the other werewolves magic.
There was an added benefit to leaving those werewolves in the hands of Professor Lupin, and Dumbledore didn't have to worry about him going down Voldemort's path.
"Legend has it that the Defence Against the Dark Arts class is cursed, and each professor can only teach it for a year, otherwise an accident will happen. What kind of magic is a curse, and whether the curse will always exist like a maggot on the tarsal bone, or will it die with the death of the person who cast the curse. โ
At that meeting, Maple ended up discussing the curse of Defence Against the Dark Arts class with Lupin.
Hermione and Ron pass through the school gates, while Maple leads Harry from the Secret Passage to Hogsmeade.
It didn't take long for Harry to know why Maple had made the second suggestion. Because Hogsmeade had so many students, he had to be careful not to touch or be stepped on by other students, and the Cloak of Invisibility would not make his form disappear.
They soon joined up with Hermione Ron, and despite the inconvenience of wearing the Cloak of Invisibility, Harry still found it much more comfortable than being alone at school.
"There it is!" Maple's eyes lit up suddenly, and then he picked up his wand and cast a spell on the four of them: "Isolate protection!" โ
Harry, Ron and Hermione immediately felt as if an invisible shield had suddenly appeared around them, and when the crowd around them was about to squeeze on them, they were immediately bounced away by an invisible force.
"Awesome!" Ron exclaimed.
If only he had been a wizard in his previous life, this spell would have been useful when he was squeezing the bus with his sister.
Ron took them on a tour of Duke Honey, Devis and Bans, the Magic Equipment Shop, and Jokowi's Joke Shop. Although he is more familiar with Hogsmeade Maple than Ron, Maple will not steal the limelight from him when Ron has such a rare opportunity to perform.
Although Maple sold a lot of gold galleons through the Eight-Eyed Spider, it was still far from Harry's big money. The Potter family is still like this, and the other pure-blood families have too much gold to spend.
There was only one thing that Maple couldn't understand, Sirius Black was imprisoned in Azkaban, and there was no other heir to the Black family, but his Gringotts treasury was still intact. His cousin's family were imprisoned for being Death Eaters, but the Ministry of Magic did not confiscate the Lestrange family's property.
The gold in the coffers of the twenty-eight pure-blood families accounted for more than ninety percent of the entire British wizarding world, and the Ministry of Magic could not directly confiscate the assets of the pure-blood families who committed crimes, so it was no wonder that the officials of the Ministry of Magic were so easily bribed by the pure-blood families.
Although Harry is a big tyrant, how can his sister let others pay for it?
Whatever Hermione wanted to buy, Maple paid before Harry, and Harry was in charge of filling his pockets and his best friend Ron with all sorts of sweets and other magical gadgets.
When the weather is cold, they fill their pockets and go to serve three brooms of foamy butterbeer, which is as refreshing as eating an authentic Sichuan spicy hot pot in winter. After taking a bite, they felt that their bodies were much warmer from the inside out.
A pleasant day of fun at Hogsmeade, followed by a delightful Halloween dinner.
With the change in Maple, Halloween is very different now than it used to be.
In the past, Halloween decorations were magnificent, and thousands of jack-o-lanterns illuminated the auditorium, without the horror atmosphere of Halloween.
Maple's two Halloween efforts seem to have caught the attention of the most humorous headmaster Hogwarts has ever seen, and with his personal participation, the Halloween feast has completely changed.
There were thousands of jack-o-lanterns floating in the auditorium, but the color of the southern lanterns had all changed to a dark color, and the dancing flames in the lamps had also turned into a faint phosphorus fire. And these phosphorus fires are like the card characters of the chocolate frog, flickering for a while, then suddenly disappearing, and then reappearing after a while.
Each flame lights up and disappears at a different frequency, ensuring that a part of the flame is flickering at every moment.
A flock of magically conjured bats hung upside down on the lit jack-o-lantern, an indescribable silver eerie, and as soon as the flame of the jack-o-lantern was extinguished, they flew to another lit jack-o-lantern.
In addition, these jack-o-lanterns are not fixed there, they drift up and down from time to time, driving eerie ghost fires, which is really indescribably weird.
And the most amazing thing about Dumbledore's magic is that although the scene has become a dimly lit ghost movie set, the students can clearly see everything inside the auditorium.
When the students entered the auditorium for the banquet, their mouths opened in surprise when they saw a scene that was very different from the previous one.
The students exchanged glances with familiar people, and their eyes were full of incredulity. In the conversation between the students in twos and threes, the surprise is greater than the fright.
It's Halloween in the truest sense of the word, and there's no one more excited among the students than the Weasley brothers.
