Chapter 49: Walkers and Miracles
The crowd was blocked out, but no one else dared to come forward to question the priests except for the people of the Dalu tribe.
People can only bow their heads in a regular manner, stand together, and guess at each other in a low voice.
Thankfully, they didn't have to wait long. Soon, the gate of the palace was pushed open, and more than a dozen people poured out from inside.
It's a pity that the crowd is too crowded, and Lu Ning and the others are standing behind, and they can only barely see a few figures wearing gold and silver who were sent out by the priest inside, but they can't see their faces clearly.
"Who are they?" Lu Ning asked Ye Rang Qin Ke beside him.
"It doesn't look like someone from the Breezy Plains." Boss Ye wasn't sure, "Maybe it's a foreign businessman." β
Lu Ning shook his head when he heard this, but did not reply.
How could an ordinary merchant deserve such a solemn reception from the temple.
"It's still okay, let's go in."
Lu Ning and Boss Ye followed the crowd into this luxurious palace.
The palace was spacious and bright, and the interior was luxurious, so that even if a large group of tribesmen poured in at once, it still did not look crowded.
Entering the door is a large lobby where several clergy maintain basic order and guide people to the different corridors.
Lu Ning and the others walked through the corridor under the guidance of the clergy and came to a slightly smaller living room.
"Name, origin?"
A clergyman dressed in a yellow cloth robe asked.
"Lord Divine Envoy, my name is Ye Rang Qin Ke, and I am from the Wind Sending Tribe."
"Lu Ning."
The divine envoy glanced at Lu Ning and looked at it slightly: "The new survivor? β
"That's right." Lu Ning nodded.
"What for?"
"I set up a tribe to register the tribe's information, and then our tribe is going to do business with his wind delivery tribe." Lu Ning briefly explained his intention.
"Register the tribe information......" The oracle squinted and searched carefully from the shelf next to him, then pulled out a roll of parchment from the pile of scrolls piled up on the shelf and spread it out on the table, picking up the quill beside him: "What name?" β
"Yongle tribe."
"Well, it can be used." The oracle nodded, "Where's the location?" β
"Ten miles south of the junction of the Blue Mountains and the Breeze Plain, along the banks of the White River." Lu Ning said.
This was the address of the new camp they had finally settled on at Ye Rang Qinke's suggestion.
"I'm so close to the Azure Mountain, I'm really not afraid ......of death," the oracle muttered, "The newly registered tribe needs a guarantor, and the temple will send an apostle to check it later." β
Ye Rang Qin Ke had already told Lu Ning about these things, so naturally he had no objections.
"Is the lord of the tribe registering your information?"
"That's right."
"Alright." The oracle wrote the message on parchment, rolled it up and placed it on another shelf, then rummaged through the box behind him and pulled something out of it.
It is a round token made of bronze, with a floating island engraved on the front and some elaborate patterns on the back.
"This is the lord token, which is common to all temple jurisdictions, which can prove your lordship status, and it is also proof of the legal existence of your tribe - folic acid, come in."
The oracle handed the token to Lu Ning, and then beckoned out the door.
"The newly formed tribe must complete a task for the temple. Follow her to the Priestess of the White Fish, who will set you the task and the targets for this year's development. β
A girl in a black robe came in at the door, and after saluting the divine envoy, she stretched out her hand and motioned for Lu Ning and the others to follow her.
Out of this room that was the same as the personnel office, Ye Rang Qin Ke couldn't wait to ask: "Sour, how are you doing in the temple recently?" β
"The gods are above, thanks to the blessing of the priest, I am doing well." Folic acid blinked and playfully made a gesture of prayer.
"You know?" Seeing this, Lu Ning asked.
"Ah, Brother Lu, let me introduce you - her name is Folic Sour, she is the child of a distant cousin of mine in the Changye tribe, and she is my niece, she is exactly sixteen years old this year, and she has just passed the coming-of-age ceremony." Ye Rang Qinke said, "My cousin was seriously injured when he went out hunting in the early years and died. The priest saw that she was pitiful at the fire ceremony that year, and took her to the temple to do some workβin fact, it was just a miscellaneous job. β
"I was promoted by the priest a few days ago, and now I am a probationary apostle." Folic acid raised his head.
"Oh, that's amazing," Ye surprised Qin Keda, "apprentice apostle...... So the priest agreed that you would officially join the temple? β
"Yes!" Folic acid nodded vigorously.
"Trainee apostle?" Lu Ning heard another new word.
Folic acid seemed to be very proud of his identity, and volunteered to explain it to Lu Ning.
Not all of the people in the temple were formal clergy, but most of them were actually ordinary people who had been recruited or taken in by the temple like folic acid before them, and these people were collectively called "attendants", which means "people who serve the gods". In contrast, the official clergy in the temple were called "doers," meaning "those who do the will of the gods."
There are also levels of walkers in the temple.
The lowest rank is the "Apostle", followed by the "Divine Messenger", "Priest", "High Priest" and "Witch Wish".
Only priests and above can promote new walkers. As long as you become a practitioner, you can be allowed to learn some of the miracles.
"The priest said that I am very talented, uncle, you see, this is a miracle that I have been studying recently......" Folic acid took out a few small clay bottles and animal skin bags from his bosom.
"First this, then this ......"
Folic acid muttered under his breath, mixing things and pouring them into his hands.
"Alright, you're optimisticβ"
Folic acid clasps your palms together, then raises it in front of your face and blows gently.
The dust mist flew away with her blow, and a faint starlight floated from between her palms, and the light and flicker were dimmed and shattered in the blink of an eye.
"Oops......" folic acid stuck out his tongue: "I can usually hold on to several breaths, but this time the preparation is not sufficient, so it doesn't count." β
"It's amazing, study hard," Ye Rang Qin Ke praised, and touched his little head with his hand.
However, neither of them noticed that Lu Ning was in a great surprise at this time.
"Ghost, did you see what you just saw?"
ββ¦β¦ Yes, very clearly," the ghost's tone couldn't help but rise, "fluorescent flowers, yellow iridescent stone powder, rat grass, these are all things we have." β
"It seems like the right time to come here." Lu Ning secretly kept the recipe of this "miracle" in mind.
At this moment, a tall figure appeared in front of them and blocked their way.
"Folic acid sour! Shouldn't it be time for you to learn arithmetic? You're wandering around here, showing off your miracles to the common people, and you're going back and copying the Walker's Instructions to me twenty times. β
Folic acid was so frightened by this voice that he quickly raised his head, and only after seeing the person who came did he breathe a sigh of relief, and waved his hands in a panic to defend himself:
"Lord Priest, I'm not wandering around, it's the rain god who told me to bring them to you. This uncle has just formed a new tribe and is coming to receive a mission. β
Lu Ning: Uncle?
Do I look that old?
I'm only six or seven years older than you, okay?
