Chapter 311: Strange Dragon
Garth stood in front of the arched gate, where another group of dwarves was ready to enter the night. More than two dozen fighters raised their weapons and, when a special signal appeared above, immediately rushed out at maximum speed.
Unfortunately, at the same time some kind of behemoth rushed out of the shadows.
Before the dwarves could push it back, Elidy caught a glimpse of a ferocious claw, and it looked like the dwarves' axe attacks were working well - but even so, Elidy saw a warrior being dragged into the darkness...... Then she heard the dwarves screaming in fear for the first time.
However, despite the terrifying sounds, Garth and the others continued into the night, and soon at least two groups of twelve followed. Elidi recognized the dwarves' determination, and she knew that the threat had grown.
Ignoring Garth's orders and danger, the Draenei priestess rushed forward. As she ran, she held out her hand...... A rod-shaped staff was in her hand, and the tip of that staff was made of silver crystals. The crystal shines with a blue glow. At the end of the staff, another slightly smaller crystal enhances the dazzling effect.
"Come here, stop!" The guard shouted as she cleared the checkpoint, but it didn't make sense. Elidy had already seen the wide bridge on the other side of the level, heading towards the mist-shrouded wetlands. At the far end of the bridge, she recognized the shadows of the warriors...... And some kind of behemoth that was stealthily approaching the dwarves.
She raised her staff and chanted the incantation that Naru had taught her a long, long time ago.
The larger crystal on the staff was immersed in a violently shining light. A terrible roar reached her ears, and Elidy finally came to the place where the dwarves were fighting.
They appear to be some kind of reptilian creatures, but they stand on their hind legs. Their front claws are so sharp that they can tear through clothing, flesh, and possibly even armor. Most of them have red and yellow stripes on their bodies, and they wear iron hoops around their wrists and necks.
They retreated in unison, a light that shone more than their small, glittering eyes could handle. The dwarves have their backs to the crystals and can quickly take advantage of this advantageous situation. They threw ropes and tied up the velociraptors, swinging their axes vigorously. The heavy blade split the scales that covered them. The internal organs are leaking out of the body, and the vitality is declining. Three terrible velociraptors fell to the ground. Two dwarves were quickly dispatched over. The third dwarf commanded to capture them, and the dwarves remained standing and fighting them, ignoring that their bodies were twitching.
Despite her unexpected intervention, these strong warriors were in hot pursuit. Elidimer counted at least twenty of these cruel velociraptors. Despite the deadly nature of the dwarves' axes, they surged up. Their strength lies in their swiftness...... Swiftness, actually, this shocked the Delaney. Worse, if they're smart enough. They may be able to use their speed advantage for purposeful, organized assaults. The priestess saw a dwarf scratched and tried to run away from it, but he was surrounded by them and torn to pieces before his companions could help him.
It can't go on like this!!, Elidi rushed forward, using her staff as a weapon to attack directly. She slammed her staff into the face of one of the velociraptors, each striking with great precision beneath its gnawing jaws.
The velociraptor fell to its knees, and the draenei knocked the velociraptor to the ground with their free hand, driving it back to its companions.
However, her cloak was torn by a burst of tearing. If it weren't for the wide cloak covering her, their claws would have gripped her shoulders hard. In fact. Despite this, her cloak was already entangled in huge claws. The velociraptor tugged at her, and the staff fell from her hand.
Elidi gritted her teeth and poked her powerful fingers into the throat of the enemy's wide open front door—the velociraptor head suddenly left its body and fell with a thud in her resistance. Its body still twitched, nearly throwing her out in the agony of death, but before it could happen, a pair of strong hands pulled her back.
"You must be crazy!" Garth roared, "Go inside, those beasts will tear you to shreds!"
"I just want to help you"
"You want to have yourself taken and turned into a dinner?" With another roar, the dwarf began to pull her back to the gate of the level.
The only warning they gave before they were captured was a savage hiss. The foul-smelling smell of swamp lingered over them. A velociraptor flicked its tail and slammed into Garth's chest, nearly knocking the grunting dwarf into the turbulent river below the bridge.
The velociraptor ignored her, more interested in the armored dwarf. Elidy realizes that maybe it's because Garth looks more threatening than she does.
After the priestess rushed into the velociraptor group, the beasts didn't take a step closer to Garth. Years of intense training have made them highly alert. They immediately analyzed what the beast might do next.
She punched the velociraptor under the eye and kicked exactly in the chest.
The velociraptor felt breathless and fainted. The body is curled up in a ball. Elidy stood in front of the fallen Garth and pulled him up.
She lifted the dwarf's head, moaning in pain, and his gaze fell on hers.
"Come-come-" he decided.
"Let me help you," said the priest. Don't care about the frustration on his face. Her eyes scanned her surroundings, but she didn't notice her staff.
Elidy saw Garth's axe, and she picked it up and held it in her hand, maybe she could make a way out.
"Give me the axe," he said in a deep tone. She handed him the axe as he had spoken, and the dwarf quickly raised his axe and slammed it into the wounded beast's throat.
Elidy felt a sudden wave of nausea, and she thought that they might be in danger again. Garth had no choice but to kill these beasts.
The dwarf turned to her again, "Go back inside, or I'll throw you in!"
But there is no way back for them, the front has retreated to the side of the bridge, and now the bridge is broken, tearing the front apart. Although the beasts do not seem to be able to swim - there is no doubt that they must have found a way to cross the river and kill them from behind - nor can the dwarves swim. No matter what Gass asked, Elidy would not give up on him for her own sake.
Garth directed her to the right and out of the battlefield. The dwarf knows what it means to do so. He was also prepared to sacrifice himself to buy his companions time to escape.
"These velociraptors," Elidi shouted as they ran, "does this happen very often?"
"You mean them? No, but something has caused these big lizards to escape their own territory and attack us! I'm sure if they had enough brains to attack the ships!"
The priestess wasn't sure if the velociraptors would do that, but she didn't say it, "So they're attacking you because of other fears?"
Garth chuckled. Even though there's no humor here, "We're lucky, um? yes, they've started coming in the past." Initially it was one-to-one, then more, now. All of a sudden, there was a flood of them!"
"Are you going to give up the port of Minahir?"
He uttered a contemptuous voice, "Only when we are all dead...... Hah!
They were standing in front of a rock, and only the Draenei's extraordinary night vision could see their surroundings. The rock was roughly the size of a dwarf, and she found nothing but this remarkable object.
"Watch your surroundings!" Garth gave the order.
Elidi watched as their efforts reached a stalemate, and she looked back at the mist-shrouded wetland. She was restless thinking about the best thing to do.
"Here!" The dwarf shouted excitedly, as if he had found a treasure. The priestess's gaze fell on a hole under the rock. It is clear that such a large hole is made by very skillful hands...... Dwarven hands. She immediately understood the purpose of the hole, "This leads to the town?"
"Yes, it depends on whether you go in or out of it, even if the velociraptors can find this place in the first place. But I can't get inside. Once we are inside, there is only one way back...... More precisely, when you go inside."
However, Elidy had already made up her mind. She put her soft hand on her Guardian's shoulder, "I'm sorry, Garth"
"W-"
He collapsed suddenly, her fingers touching the nerves in his neck, causing him to lose consciousness for a moment. The Draenei immediately carried him to a safe hole, leaving the axe behind. Convinced that Garth would not be in any danger, the priestess examined the rock. Unlike the dwarves, Elidi didn't have to make that much effort to move it back. On the contrary, it is more about adjusting the sense of balance and direction to move it. With that done, her attention returned to the battle outside. She put aside her apologies for the dwarf for a moment, and she began to run in the direction of the bridge.
However, at this time. More people came out of the town to support, and the dwarves attacked more and more fiercely, and countless cannonballs fell on the velociraptor horde. They receded like a tide.
Elidy thanked Naru for the unexpected good fortune she had received. She still hadn't found her staff, but it wasn't a big deal now. When she needed a staff, it would be here for her.
She defied the wind and walked into the wetlands, looking for signs of the beasts leaving their lair. She believed in chasing after the fleeing Raptors. Will find what she's been looking for.
Or it will find her.
A behemoth - its wings swept across the land and the sea. It flew frantically, as if its mission was simply to be obsessed with flying. Its mind is in turmoil, and the vast world of Azeroth has grown stronger after many catastrophes. Such is the fate of Azeroth, and at some point and in some places it may ease somewhat...... Although it will also suffer new disasters.
The sky was obscured by rumbling dark clouds, and a storm was coming. The massive dragon shadow sped high into the air, passing through the clouds that were getting darker and darker in the moonlight.
Tiredness had taken hold of the hysterical dragon shadow in the sky, but it continued to fly, and it didn't seem to care how long it would struggle in the sky - it had to find a place to rest. The huge webbed wings flapped even more, and the dragon's shadow streaked across the sky in an instant, as if it had never appeared...... That's a strange dragon.
Below, the storm seems to be starting to wake up, but above it there are only dragons and moons. The former completely ignores the latter, although the light it emits clearly illuminates the path of the dragon and, of course, the dragon itself.
In that shining light, the scales on the dragon's surface glowed almost as bright as the moon...... Suppose the moonshine is blue. (To be continued.) )
