Chapter 6: The Adventure Begins

When I came into contact with the hard steel walls and dirty water in the sewers, it dawned on me that I was too optimistic. If I were to seek an exit in such an environment, dark and closed, I didn't know when I would succeed.

My body fluttered and swam on the black water, a little weak. What can I do now? I accidentally gained superpowers in order to eat delicious food, and I wanted to find the original place because I couldn't forget my birthplace. Since I have chosen this path, I must finish it, even if the end of the road is such a difficult and unknown result, I will continue to walk. With this in mind, I continued to swim towards the unknown. It seems that here is a huge surface of water. The dark water kept me thinking. As a result of the acceleration of the fall, I had gained some of my weight, so half of my body was leaning down and soaking in the dirty cold water. What I need now is a light that will tell me where I can swim and which pipe will take me to the exit.

Suddenly, I thought of the mosquito just now. From the change in frequency when it speaks and thinks, I gradually came up with the idea that if I flop on the surface of the water and make a sound, I should be able to judge nearby objects by the echo, which is similar to the bat principle.

Thinking about it, I used my "big" size to hit the water with my claws, and then listened. The sound of "rattling" water echoed loudly from the left ear to the right, and the space I experienced reverberated loudly - perhaps, as I judged, this was a large body of water, and I had to swim desperately to get out of it.

At this time, my accurate biological clock again tells me that the sun may be out. For I heard someone walking above, and the ground was shaking, and though I was still, the surface of the water was rippling in circles. In this way, I tried to swim forward in the direction of the ripples, and as I kept swimming, the ripples were in front of me. It seemed that the more I chased, the faster it spread forward, and I remembered my fate sadly—that my body decreased in size with increasing speed, so the faster I swam, the farther the ripples seemed to be away from me.

This is also ridiculous! A wave of sadness spread through my whole body with my thoughts, and in this dark and damp space, in this cold water, I panted and chased forward, trying my best. Slowly, I saw a glimmer of light ahead, so I quickened my pace and swam forward as hard as I could. I looked at the glimmer of light, my eyes lingering in the dark for a long time, unable to discern its color. Then, as I thought and squinted at the shimmer, the glimmer seemed to get closer, and it "opened its mouth" as if it were hugging me, engulfing me......

After a bout of vertigo, I woke up and found myself lying in a dumpster.
