Volume I: The End of the Outlaw 40

I stayed, and became one of his personal bodyguards. On the one hand, for the sake of money, on the other hand, you may get more useful things from being with him. For the time being, I have nowhere to go, even if the lone wolf has something to look for me, for the sake of my current identity, he will probably look up to me.

I wrote back to Alyssa and told her that her little liver was still alive and well. But he never mentioned that I was staying with him. I thought it would be better not to tell her first, but of course it was just my selfishness.

The prince's conscription did not go well, and the king's letter of inquiry arrived.

"These Talumirs! Damn High Frey! He deserves to die! The prince cursed angrily.

I can understand his feelings, as far as I know, his brother seems to have spoken ill of him to the king, as Alyssa had said. And the king was very dissatisfied with the suppression of bandits, and when it came to the harvest season, the tax of the state was a big problem, and he had to pay attention to it.

I've been watching the excitement up to this point, and yesterday Oriden and Gofrey quarreled again over the King's taxes. The prince is serving in the army, and I feel that maybe the prince should not have taken care of this, but he seems to be really short of money, and his soldiers need to be expanded, and the expanded army needs to eat, and when it is cold, he needs all kinds of supplies. I guess the prince wants to behave well in front of the king, and if he settles things without the help of the king, it is undoubtedly an excellent proof of his ability. But Goldfrey kept crying poor.

The crown prince didn't get what he wanted here, and at noon he told me about the Barov family that Alyssa had told him. "Bill, I remember you were from Keldaron County."

"Yes."

"Which town?"

"Frozen Town."

"Is it the land of the Barov family?"

"It's the domain of Baron Vallima Modis. Well, he was a retainer of Barov. I said.

"Is that tall, lanky, hunchbacked baron?"

"It's a bit high, but I really didn't pay attention to the hunchback." I went along with the words.

"How long does it take to get from here to Kelldaron?"

"I don't know, I haven't met him, and I've never been to the Duke's quarters." I feel like I'm getting more and more able to lie.

"Well, we're going to Keldaron the day after tomorrow, and you can stop by and see what your Duke looks like."

I'm going to Barov's house the day after tomorrow, and that's really good news. On the one hand, I can go further and see more things to satisfy my curiosity. What's more, something big might really happen when you go out this time.

As I walked out of my quarters, a small, inconspicuous guy dressed in brown passed me. "The lone wolf has a letter to you. Follow me. Then he walked slowly ahead without stopping, and turned into a small alley.

I went into the alley with him, and there was another guy in the alley. Subconsciously touched my waist.

"Don't be nervous, Bill." He showed his ring. "I'm Talummere's liaison. My name is Abel and his name is Cole. He gestured to the guy next to him.

I looked at the man in his thirties named Abel and said, "What's the matter?" ”

"Lone wolf wants to know how you've been, you've lost contact lately." He said.

"I got a job with the crown prince." I say.

"I didn't disappoint the lone wolf, but remember who you are, Bill. Now tell me about the Crown Prince. ”

"We're going to Keldaron County and looking for Barov." I stared into his eyes.

"When."

"The day after tomorrow."

The guy named Abel stared at me for a few seconds before he spoke. "So, you have something to do tonight."

"Do what?"

"At six o'clock in the evening, in the alley to the left of the Green Mushroom Tavern, walk in the second corner to the right, you go there and wait." He gave me one last look, nodded, and turned to leave.

You can really do a lot of things at night, especially when it is suitable for doing things that are not in accordance with ethics and the law, and it is appropriate for the situation.

I got there early as it got dark, but I didn't like to go into the alley.

A man appeared in the alley, but then he hid in the shadows. Hiding on the roof, I could see everything below. It's just that this time, I'm not going to walk over.

I felt over the roof and I saw where the man was. After observing for a while, I let go of my hand and fell off the roof, falling directly from the sky and smashing the man to the ground. The dagger in my hand was pinned to his neck.

"The way you greet is special." The man turned out to be Abel, and he looked away from me.

"Just in case." I dragged him off the ground.

"It's just the right time, let's go." Able wore a night walker. It seems that he took me out for an event tonight.

We walked through a winding alley, and at the end of the alley we saw a not-so-large manor in the distance. It was Guffrey's mansion.

He didn't say a word, and of course I wouldn't ask him what such an obvious thing was doing. While it was time to eat, we touched into Godfrey's house. His dormitory, to be exact. Although this old thing's bedroom is large, the interior decoration is not ornate.

"Looking for what?" I finally asked him.

"Look for his notes and letters."

"That's it?"

"Especially the letters with Fred Pirenod."

"What about the others?" I had already guessed what was going on.

"Find it first."

"How do you know there's going to be a letter with Fred?" I asked a question that seemed a bit silly.

"Guess." He said.

"Will Gofrey come back suddenly?"

"Then hurry up and find it."

There was no such magical dark compartment and no mechanism, and I found a small box in the cabinet behind his desk with a pile of letters.

Able was quickly picking through the letters, and I opened one curiously, and sure enough, GFREY had a connection with Fred, but there didn't seem to be anything special or reactionary in the letter, except that this one seemed to be from last year.

"Did you find anything?" I handed the letter over.

"Absolutely." He took the letter from my hand and handed it to me.

"What's wrong with this one?" I looked at the contents, and it didn't seem to have much value other than complaining.

"This letter is a letter from Baron Smedley Mullen. He's a rich guy. ”

"What does it matter?"

"He's so rich. That's the relationship. Able dragged the letter back and took it into his arms.

"Finished?"

"Hmm. Walk. ”

"There's a lot of jewelry." I flipped through another box.

"We are not thieves." Able gently pushed open the balcony door and walked out.

"So noble." I muttered and put the box back in its place.
