Volume 2: The Storm Falls: 8 Flashes of Gold and a Dream
A few years ago, I walked this path with a girl. We headed to Stormwind together in high spirits, and then we were kicked out in solitude.
A few years have passed, I remember the girl, but I don't remember that the road was still not like this, maybe only the towering trees on both sides of the avenue still remember what it looked like that year.
It's Shining Gold Town in front of me, and I still have memories. Scratching women on both sides of the street, burning fires and lively squares. The woman in front of the hotel and the noisy crowd inside.
And one more person...... I gritted my teeth at the thought of this.
After a day of walking, I was already hungry with my chest pressed against my back. There was no barracks in Shining Gold, so we had to camp outside the town.
The group of bandits looked at the brightly lit town and whispered.
"Reggie, shall we move on tomorrow morning?" I asked him.
"In a moment, we're going to find someone in town. If they come, let's go. Reginal said.
"Waiting for someone?"
"Yes, there must be not only fighters on the front line, but also people who take care of them." He laughed.
"Hah, woman!" Lawrence clapped his hands and laughed. "Bill, I'll go with you in a moment. I protect you! β
"I don't need your protection, dear Lawrence. I'm feeling good right now. β
"No, there's a lot more I can do."
"Let you and your little brother rest. I don't know where you get that much energy. I said, waving my hand.
"Ralph, you and Green in a moment. And you, Mr. Lawrence. People who are bullish on us. I don't want these wolf cubs to cause me anything. β
Lawrence shook his hand in frustration and lay to the side.
I don't know if it's because of the war, but there are obviously a lot fewer people in the town, and the scene of idlers on the streets when I came that time is no longer there.
"There's a little bit of a crowd here." I don't have anything to say.
"Some people have been conscripted, and the labor force has declined." Reggie said.
"Who are we going to?" I watched him lead me in the direction of the tavern.
"Brother Benjamin."
There are no more men chatting at the door of the Lion King's Pride, and the woman who was quite good in his memory is gone.
When I pushed the door and entered the tavern, the music in the tavern somehow lost the cheerful, relaxed and pleasant it used to be, and the little mention was also very bland.
The tavern is still the same tavern, and the dΓ©cor inside doesn't seem to have changed. It's just that there are a lot fewer people inside. Now it should have been a meal, when there were the most people, but there were only a dozen people sitting there in the hall and chatting quietly.
When they saw us come in, they looked up at us.
"Will there be monks in such a place?" I asked him.
"We've made an appointment, it's still early, come in and have a drink." He actually gave me a mischievous look. "There's some of the best wine in the whole Stormwind Kingdom." He said.
"Boss! A pot of Macholon red. He shouted at his boss.
I didn't say anything. Just sit at the bar. A sparkling red liquid flowed out of the jug and poured into a clear glass.
"Sir, you seem to have something on your mind." He gently pushed his glass in front of me.
"Remembering a little bit of the past." I say.
"Ha, I think of a beautiful woman." He said slowly. "Are you married?"
"Nope." I looked at him. "You should be married."
He shook his head, "Wait until this war is over!" He smiled, and his smile was kind.
I was tilting my head to look at his face as a girl and a young man came down from the upper floor. I slanted my gaze a little bit, and it made my heart almost jump out.
"You ......" Reggie looked up at me without speaking, and then followed my gaze. What to see? β
"I didn't ...... It's nothing. It's just that...... Kind of familiar. "I snorted.
"Sure enough." He smiled and drank the wine from his glass.
I couldn't help but look at it, I'd rather be wrong! Yes! I'd rather recognize the wrong person! But that's her!
I could feel my heart beating so hard at the moment, and I was trying to restrain my already surging heart. I looked at her greedily, and I thought so much! I want to go up and take a good look at her.
She seems to have lost weight again. Exhaustion is written on her face!
...... beside her It's him! Felix! I remember his name and I won't forget! How could it be him? What about Tim!
Tim......
The thought of the name makes me feel a dull pain in my abdomen.
I felt as if my eyes were on fire, and I desperately wanted to look at her twice, but ......
It's okay! It should be fine. I...... There is a bandage on the face!
She turned her head......
She finally twisted her face towards me!
It's her! It's really her!
I'd rather believe it's telepathy! She felt me!
Her eyes looked at me, and the moment my eyes met hers, my heart melted.
However...... The way she looked at me...... No, there was some surprise in her eyes, and then horror.
No...... It shouldn't be this way! She was scared......
I opened my mouth, and she immediately twisted her face to the side. Felix looked over, and he gave me a disgusted look, but his face was impatient. He sat down across from her.
At this moment, my mind went blank, and then a wave of hatred welled up in my heart.
Why are they here? What happened in the years I've been dead? What did those people do?
I looked at the tavern owner, "Boss, come here, I have something to ask you......"
Turning their faces again, the two of them didn't seem to be very pleasant! What's going on? I wonder what's wrong with them!
"Sir, you greet me?" The boss stood in front of me.
"Do you have any of you called ......" I was about to blurt out, when I suddenly came back to my senses. I stared at him with wide eyes and the boss looked at me. "Is there any, uh, a ......," I gestured with my hand, "sheriff or something." β
Reggie looked over.
"Uh...... Is the chief asking, sheriff? β
"Yes." I nodded.
"Yes." The boss looked at the one in military uniform next to me, and then at me.
"How many city defense troops are there here?" I quickly found a topic.
"About sixty people."
"What's the sheriff's name?"
"Elton James."
"Is this the land of the king or the domain of some nobleman?"
"Your Majesty."
Reggie looked at me curiously, I pretended to nod, and then said, "Why hasn't the person you asked for come yet?" β
Reggie took out his pocket watch and looked at it, "It's time to come too!" It's all said to be punctual, but it can't be so punctual. He drained the glass of wine in one gulp.
The tavern owner raised an eyebrow, "This wine has to be drunk slowly." β
I followed him up from the stool and we walked out the door. His military uniform was still very eye-catching, and many people looked up at him. I looked over to the table next to me, and she looked over as well.
So close!
Her eyes met mine!
So close!
Her eyes changed slightly! Yes! Is this an illusion? I feel a difference! She...... Do you feel me?
It's such a short moment, I want to stop!
She twisted her face again!
No......
There is no change in her face! She...... Didn't feel it!
My heart hurts. What about him!
Gritting my teeth, I walked briskly out of the tavern.
I really want to curse, curse in the most vicious language! But who am I scolding? I couldn't find anyone to scold at once!
"What's wrong with you?" Reggie stood not far away, looking back at me, who was still standing in the doorway.
"It's kind of ......," I took a deep breath. Up! I exhaled my breath.
The two of us sat around the fire in the square and waited, and after a while, a monk jumped out of a carriage that was belated, and out of the carriage came two young girls.
Reggie stepped forward to hug him, politely, and greeted. My mind is completely messed up. I didn't even bother to hear what they were talking about. The two girls stood behind the monk, looking at Reggie in front of them, and then at me standing on the side with strange eyes.
I kept nodding and shaking my head, coping. I didn't even notice when the monk left.
"Bill." Reggie looked at me, "Are you uncomfortable?" He finally couldn't help but ask me.
"No...... Uh, I'm fine. I came back to my senses and looked at him, "It's all arranged." Let's go! I said.
"These two women haven't settled down yet, my lord!" Reggie said.
Only then did I realize that the two girls were still standing on the side and looking at me with some horror.
After settling the two of them in the Shining Gold Town Church, I walked back without looking back.
I walked on my own, Reggie following closely behind. He doesn't speak, and I don't bother to speak. When I was about to get to the entrance of the town, I stopped.
"What are those two girls doing?" That's when I came to my senses.
"Take care of the warriors." Reggie said.
"Take care of what? How to take care of it? We're going to war! β
"They're nurses in the army! Nurse trained at the North County Abbey. He explained. After all...... Men need their gentle hands to soothe their hearts after they are hurt. β
"Oh." I answered. "Reggie ......" I turned back to him and said, "You go back to camp first, I'll ...... Go buy something. I patted him on the arm.
"Your Excellency...... You ......"
"I'll go back when I'm done shopping. You go back first, I'll be back in a moment. With that, I left him and walked quickly to the tavern in the center of town.
When I eagerly pushed open the tavern door, they were gone.
"Boss! What about the man and woman? I pointed to the table where they were sitting.
"They...... Let's go. The boss said.
"How can you go? It's night. β
"How would I know! They have checked out. β
"One or two?"
The boss raised his eyelids and looked at me. "What are you asking for?"
"The girl seemed to ...... I've seen her, and I've lost a sister! I said.
"Hmph, if it weren't for you and the chief just now, I wouldn't have told you." He looked at me and flipped through the ledger. "Two." He said.
This sentence directly made me laugh.
"What are you laughing at?"
"Where did the woman come from?"
"North-County Abbey."
"North County? Monastery? β
"Probably trained nurses. Now that there is a war going on, there are simply not enough priests, nurses. She comes often. β
"What is she here for?"
"You've got a lot of questions." He was a little impatient.
I pulled out a couple of coins. "Bring me two pots of dry red from just now."
"Hmm...... This time, she came to buy medicinal herbs. He said with a smile
"Where's the man?"
"I don't know...... It was him with her every time. β
"There's a guy named Palmer here, where did he go?"
"You mean Baron Palmer! Ha, he's ...... I haven't seen him in a long time. β
"He's still alive?"
"Of course, of course he's alive."
"There was a fire in Donggu Town many years ago, you know?"
"It's not Donggu Town, is it...... It seems that there is such a thing, I forgot. β
"It's a barracks." I prompted him.
"It seems like yes. I can't remember. What's wrong? "The owner was also curious.
"Nothing......" I said.
