Volume 2 Storm Falls 12 Twilight Forest
I was woken up by the sound of a trumpet. Opened his eyes and found that the orcs in the camp were gathering, so early? I looked around, and it was just dawning.
I was amazed that the orcs in the camp were busy packing their things. Are they going to be pulled out today?
There were about four or five hundred orcs in the camp. One can imagine how intimidating it was when the beasts launched a collective charge.
I was recalling the map I had seen last night, trying to match the terrain in the map to the places I could remember. However, staring at it for a long time can't match the number.
As the sky began to lighten, I could see more clearly what they were doing.
It's all sorted!
The big blood-red eyed flag was taken down, and the smaller flag was raised. Then I saw a group of orcs march over a dozen trolls from a distance after the hundreds of orcs had finished marching in.
Trolls are noticeably taller than orcs, but trolls are more elongated and not as wide as orcs. Their skin is light purple and they have some tattoos on their bodies. Their fangs are very piercing. But some of their faces are already bloated and have no fangs!
I put down my binoculars and looked around to make sure I was okay before I continued to observe what the orcs were going to do.
Actually, I guessed in my heart what they were going to do......
The troll with his hands tied behind his back walked up to a blood-red-eyed banner and was knocked down by two orcs.
And then there's ...... Blood splattered on the spot!
When the first troll's head rolled to the ground, blood splattered on the banner, the orc army erupted in a roaring cry.
The trolls in the back couldn't stand all of a sudden! But they were tied, and the orcs on either side dragged them to death. As much as they struggle, they try to make a last stand, but ......
The more they struggled, the louder the roar of the orcs became. The orcs were excited.
The next troll wasn't as happy as the first, and the first slash was crooked...... The second knife chops off the head.
Looking at the picture in front of me, it is hard for me to imagine how the two races will come together in the future.
The ritual was almost done in no time, and only the last troll remained. I saw a white-haired orc with a burly figure but a little hunched back, approaching and raising his axe to complete the final ritual.
The shouts of the orc army echoed through the forest. Doing this early in the morning, the way orcs behave is really unusual.
I couldn't hear what they were saying, and I couldn't understand what they heard. I could only look with my eyes and see them plugging their severed heads into their stakes. Then they turned and walked out of the camp.
After carefully discerning the lower positions, I was sure that the group of orcs was starting from a different direction than the direction I had come from. So I slipped down from the tree and climbed over the fence.
The walls of the camp were not simply stakes erected, but sharpened and all pointed outward! If it's really an offensive and defensive war, this kind of defensive wall ...... It's kind of tricky.
There was nothing left in the camp except for the corpses that had just lost their heads and were piled up together, and the heads that had just been replaced.
I ran into the big house I just visited last night and it was cleaned up! Running around the camp I gave a positive answer, they shifted!
Is this a march or a retreat? Where are they going?
Quietly following their ranks, now that the orcs are not running as desperately as the scout, that's the greatest privilege for me.
The orcs are heading in a different direction than when I came, they're heading east!
It's been a week since I've been out! One is that I feel how time has become faster, and the other is that I deeply understand that being a scout is really not something ordinary people can bear!
After a day of tailgating, their ranks expanded. Some of the squads are returning one after another. The size of them is more than six hundred.
That night, when my cat was in the tree, I suddenly heard a movement under the tree. I don't know if I don't look at it, I'm almost scared out when I pee!
The trees are densely packed with trolls!
I just felt a chill down my back.
I didn't dare to move, and honestly squatted on the top of the tree. I'm really scared of something happening now...... If something happens, you can imagine how to end up with your toes.
Suddenly, my eyes lit up! This is not the light of salvation! It's a flame! Flaming arrows flew past me and flew towards the orc camp!
One salvo, two salvos, and one more! I could even feel the whirring sound of the rocket as it flew past me. I don't dare to look! I can only close my eyes and grit my teeth, praying that I can get through safely!
After a few volleys, the roars of orcs and the screams of trolls filled the dark forest. The trolls' rockets only set fire to the orcs' tents and supplies, illuminating their surroundings. In this little bit of fire, I could clearly see the orcs and trolls fighting together.
Under the tree is purgatory! The level of gore is indescribable! I can't imagine what would happen to me if I were human!
The battle lasted from night to morning, and the orcs should have been defeated! They left the supplies in the camp and disappeared into the jungle! The trolls chased after them. Leaving corpses and wreckage in the spot.
When I saw that the trolls were chasing the orcs in front of me, I hurried down from the tree. I was a little scared to look at the corpses in this place. A troll was still alive, its long, fanged mouth opening and closing, blood pouring out of its mouth. It had a knife stuck in its stomach and its left hand severed.
It saw me!
The hairs on my back exploded instantly. Except for the painted face that had been spent, there was no hatred in its eyes, no ferocity. It didn't have any surprise in its eyes, it just looked at me like that.
My fingers moved, and I suddenly didn't know what to do. But the hand that saw it severed was still bleeding...... I tentatively walked up.
I stood cautiously in front of it. I pointed to its severed hand, and its eyes looked at me expressionlessly.
Seeing that this guy was no longer a threat, I leaned over and untied a belt from a corpse.
I held the rope in one hand and swung it at him with the other, and I was afraid it would be misunderstood!
But the guy leaned motionless under the tree. I walked over slowly, crouched down and picked up its stump. The hand is no longer available, but I want to stop the bleeding.
I pulled out the only two rolls of bandages from my belt bag and quickly tied them up, but the blood was still flowing. After putting the bandage on, I used a belt to tie the wound around him.
I looked at him, and his big eyes were staring at me, but calmly, and I nodded at it.
Wandering around the pile of corpses, they all looked almost dead. I looked at the still panting troll again, then turned and walked away.
"Roar!" The troll let out a cry, and I hurried back to look, pulling a necklace from its neck and holding it in its hand and handing it to me.
I smiled at him, and then took it, and there seemed to be a hint of friendliness in its eyes, at least I felt much friendlier than I had just been.
Smiling at him again and nodding, I quickly turned and ran into the bushes next to me. I picked up a troll's axe and shook it. It's the only thing they can use for something of their size. In comparison, orcs' weapons are much smaller than those of trolls.
I really don't like to walk through it, it's really troublesome to find the direction here, and I have to constantly correct my direction.
Although I tried my best to run and rest and hurry, it took me almost ten days to find my way back to Ridge.
When I found an inhabited house, I realized that I was in a small village far, far southeast of Luzhi Town. I don't seem to have the need to go back,
This place cannot be called a village in the strict sense, but only a ...... I don't know what it's called, it's only three families!
When I knocked on their door, I scared the three old men half to death. When I identified myself, they lowered their weapons.
"How did you find here?" A balding old man said.
"I came out of the woods, there were trolls in the woods, and I tracked them down." I say.
"No one has ever been able to find this place yet, and neither have those monsters!" The old man shook his head and said. "They're not trolls! It's a different kind of monster! ”
"I know, the kind called orcs, and the other kind of trolls you call them. I'm there to spy on them! I said.
"They walked around here some time ago!" An old woman said.
"When? How many people? ”
"Probably...... A week ago! A dozen monsters! She said.
"Is it green skin?"
The old lady looked at the old man, and the old man said, "It's green skin!" Right! I'm sure it is! She said and nodded.
"Got it, thank you! Those have already been solved by our people! "I looked at a few of them." Do you know where these green-skinned guys came from? ”
The old man stared at me mysteriously and said, "They are from the forest!" Or in the mountains! ”
"They are from the mountains to the east! There is a very, very large forest to the east and no one can get out of it! I haven't seen anyone walk out of there! That's where these orcs came from! An old graybeard interjected.
"Where is that?"
"From here there is a trail and this trail is small! We are the only ones who will go up that path, which leads to the other side of the forest. ”
"What's on the other end?"
"It's still the forest!" The gray-bearded old man said.
"You ......"
"He's saying, huh...... At that end is the forest...... However, the forest at that end is different from here, there are not only forests but also swamps! Very dangerous swamps. I reckon they're green-skinned monsters from the swamp! The balding old man interrupted the speculation.
"You talk nonsense! How could a toad become so big! Greybeard retorted.
"They're a cross between a troll and a toad!" Said the bald old man. "It is said that the troll's magic spirit has a magical effect, aphrodisiac or something!"
I didn't have the heart to talk to them, "How far is this from the nearest ridge town?" ”
"It's a little far from there, but it's less than a day away from Brightwood." The old lady said.
"Why are you living here?" I asked.
"This place is safer than the world out there!" The balding old man stared at me, "You're the first guy to find this place in all these years." ”
"Then I wish you a long life!" I said and looked at the old lady. "How can I go back to Brightwood?"
"North, from here all the way north." The old lady said. "You...... Can you not tell them that we are here? ”
"I suggest you get out of here early! Sooner or later, those monsters will tread all over this forest. I said.
"It's the safest place to be!" The old man emphasized.
I thanked me and left, but when I walked down the path into the forest and looked back...... I suddenly felt like I was losing my bearings. And the lush trees blocked what I had just walked behind me.
I quickly turned my face, but luckily my feet didn't move. I took a closer look at the grass that was slightly trampled underneath my feet. Then he walked forward.
I always feel that there is something wrong with this wood, either physically uncomfortable, or there always seems to be a feeling that I can't get out of the confusion, and there is an inexplicable sense of depression that fills my heart. There's one name that always resounds in my head, Twilight Forest.
Turning over the two hills, the feeling of depression and blur slowly became lighter and lighter. The sun seems to be shining a lot, too. And you can see some traces of human activity.
I let out a sigh of relief, and it's finally out!
