Volume 2: The Storm Falls 58: Shadow of the Green Dragon

This is the dragon!

Its green, translucent body is more than five meters tall and emits a faint green glow.

It made a gurgling sound, like it came from the ground, and it had been suppressed for a long time full of disgust and anger.

At this point, my legs trembled a little uncontrollably. Its lizard-like eyes, much larger than a human head, tilted its head slightly to stare at us.

"Mortal!" The old, hoarse, and extremely deep voice came from the dragon. He speaks the language of men! "Why are you here to break the peace here?"

I saw that several of them were looking up at it, and no one was stubble.

"No!" His tone changed suddenly. "Are you here to sacrifice?" The sound echoed through the hall, and it kept echoing so much that my ears and my heart couldn't stand it.

"How dare you break into here! Stupid reckless humanity! Your lives were worthless, but your arrival will cause the worst disaster in the world. ”

"Roar!" The dragon opened its mouth and roared at us.

I almost sat on the floor.

"Run, mortal! Get out of here! I will not leave your stinky bodies in this place. Hurry up and run for your life! Get out of here! I covered my ears, and the sound made me feel like the whole hall was vibrating.

As he spoke, the dragon spread its huge wings towards us.

I didn't have any other thoughts at all, and instinctively turned around and ran. Those guys were even more frightened, and their legs were weak.

Rushing out of the hall and bypassing the walls, he looked towards the end of the passageway only to find that the trolls that had blocked the end of the passage had long since disappeared.

Did the dragon scare them all away?

I couldn't care less about the sound under my feet and how incompatible with the quiet environment, anyway, my only thought was to get out of here quickly. But when I was about to get to the exit of the passage, I reached out and stopped the people behind me.

The trolls who were chasing us all stood in the middle of the hall.

Through the gap between them, I saw a troll crouching on the ground. He muttered something in his mouth, but suddenly burst into tears as he spoke. The cry was so ugly, not only the feeling of resentment, but the extremely hoarse and distorted sound that made the cry extremely weird.

At that moment, there was a rattling sound at the top of the staircase. The sound grew closer, and my heart shook as two trolls appeared before us dragging a human body.

The two trolls dragged the man to the middle of the hall. The troll crouching on the ground moved, and I saw a human corpse next to it, with its head cut off and set aside.

Another one was dragged, and it stopped crying, but muttered and raised the axe in its hand and slashed it down. This movement is as natural and skillful as cutting vegetables.

Suddenly, the trolls in the middle turned around us, and they looked at us who were there.

What happened next was even more terrible than a nightmare, they were like a bunch of demons coming at us.

"Run!" My shouts trembled.

While it's uncertain whether the trolls are dead or alive, their IQ is clearly much higher than that of the burned zombies. In addition to lunging at us, there are also some vain attempts to run ahead and intercept our way.

He didn't have time to pull out his shield, and just as he was about to collide, Grayson stepped up with the round skeletal shield in his hand. He knocked out two trolls in his way, and I made two stabs but it didn't feel like it worked.

Suddenly, a knight was knocked to the ground with a hammer from a troll that pounced on him. In the face of these trolls who are much taller than us, we are basically giving them for nothing.

Run, run, run, run, that's the only thing I can think of. With a single slash, a troll grabbed Grayson's hand, and Grayson managed to run into the hallway.

I could no longer hear the screams coming from behind me, Grayson was in front of him, a knight was following him, and I couldn't feel my companions alive behind me.

We weren't running the stairs at all, we were jumping down the stairs. The stairwell of the burned corpses of the trolls was still smoking, and the corpses were causing us a lot of trouble to escape. The constant thud behind me told me that the troll chasing us had tripped over the corpse.

Thanks to my daily training, I have a pair of strong ankles and powerful thighs. Rushing down such a long staircase, I didn't even have a broken foot.

The wind rushed down the stairs to the passage from which it came. Many of the torches in the passage have been extinguished. The remaining dying torches emitted a faint glow, but that was already good.

Unfortunately, this passage is not all straight, and we inevitably hit the wall when we run in the dark, which also slows down our escape. However, the darkness didn't seem to have much effect on the trolls, and they caught up with the sound of footsteps.

When the pool of yellow water appeared in front of me, I plunged into it without hesitation. I feel like I'm going to survive! But when I plunged headlong into the water, I realized I was wrong!

When I first came, I could barely swim through this yellow water in one go. But just after fierce running and constant fright. After diving headlong into the water, I soon felt that I was running out of gas.

The knight guy in front of me was desperately swimming upstream, and my eyes hurt from being killed. I can't take care of these anymore, swim past me and I'll live!

He turned his head to look at Grayson behind him. He's still there! Thankfully he's okay!

But after a few seconds, I heard only a "grunt", and when I turned back, he seemed to be drowning, and the troll that caught up grabbed him by the foot and dragged him down.

Instinctively, I desperately tread the water and went upstream. I saw the light coming from above.

I'm alive!

The moment my head burst out of the water, the excitement and joy came over me. I don't care how beautiful my posture is, I just want to get ashore as soon as possible.

As I struggled to climb ashore, I turned my head to look at the bubbling water. Of course, I was hoping for a miracle, but after a few bubbles, the water gradually calmed down, and Grayson did not miraculously emerge from the water.

The knight who had survived was already frightened, and he sat on the ground with his eyes and mouth wide open.

There were ten people when we came, and now there are still two of us, and the most important thing, Master Grayson, didn't make it out alive. Looking at the sky that was about to get dark and the lake that was foggy, I said to him, "What's your name?" ”

"Foster." His lips were still trembling.

"Okay Foster, listen, don't go anywhere now, just hide up there, hide. If I don't come back tomorrow before the fog lifts from the lake, you get out of here and go to the shore to find the rest. Then you tell them to wait for me on the shore and not to come in and save us! Make it clear to my brother and ask them to wait until noon the day after tomorrow. Tell them that if I don't come back by then, let them hurry back and report, do you hear me clearly, Foster! ”

He nodded vigorously. "What do you want to do, Lord Bill?" That's when he came to his senses.

"If I don't come back alive, tell everyone about this place."

Taking a deep breath, I plunged headlong into the water again. I swam as fast as I could, and suddenly a floating troll appeared in front of me, seemingly dead. The troll's body was like a specimen soaked in formalin.

It doesn't matter how it died, dead or not. I quickly dodged it, and what I was most afraid of at the moment was that this thing didn't come back to life all at once.

When I climbed ashore again, I found traces of water on the ground, and Grayson was no longer there, looking at the water on the ground, he should have been dragged away.

Groping my way through the long passage, I returned to the hall. The maggots in the hall were gone, and the smoking corpses on the stairs were still there.

The marks of being dragged on the ground are still obvious, and I don't know if I can save him, and even if I can't, I'm going to give it a try, even if he's dead!

Except for the sound of breathing and footsteps, the place was once again dead silent. In my left hand, I held the shield that Lothar had given me, and in my right hand, I held the sword I had snatched from Naga.

Naga ......

Although their main body used to be the highest elves. But now there is no difference with the snake people. These trolls worship snakes, and the sculptures on the walls are full of snake figures. Is there any connection between the Naga and these snakes?

And in my vague memory, I still vaguely remember this place. The name of the serpentine monster enshrined in this temple is Haka. Haka, the god of blood, is a snake, a large serpent with wings.

Well...... The troll just cut off the human head and released the human blood, was it just to sacrifice to the blood god? But what about the trolls who were clearly dead?

And also...... That green dragon......

When all these things were displayed in front of my eyes at once, I was a little hard to accept.

Reaching the exit of the passage, I snuffed out the candle at the top of the staircase. I was once again in the shadows and darkness, and while that didn't seem like much to the trolls chasing me, it at least gave me a little sense of security.

The trolls in the hall were gone, except for the round hole in the middle where three human corpses were placed. Their heads were gone, except for their broken necks stuck into the hole.

Suddenly, the extremely ugly voice of half-crying and half-singing came from a nearby passageway, and when it finished crying, a group of trolls made a strange sound that I didn't know whether to sing or scream.

Broken...... Grayson, don't let them drag you there! If his head is cut off, what will I do when I go back?

Looking down at the traces of blood on the ground, it was from that passage to the round hole in the middle, it should be there!

The darkest sound in the world came from the dark passages. I fumbled against the wall, and as I walked, I saw a faint green light around the corner in front of me. That's where the sound comes from.

There is also a large stone wall in this passage, and around the stone wall, a huge square hall is revealed, and many trolls stand in it.

I pressed my body against the edge of the door and looked in, and there were fifty trolls inside, and there was a high platform in the innermost part of the hall, on which lay a sarcophagus, and on the edge of the sarcophagus were three human heads.

A thin, skinny troll stood behind a stone table in the center of the table, chanting a word as he picked up a large bowl on the table. The lid of the sarcophagus had been opened, and the troll was holding it and kneeling in front of it, crying out loudly. And the trolls also let out very strange cries from their mouths.

I pulled out my binoculars and looked closely at the three heads placed on the coffin, but I didn't find Grayson! This is the heads of those three people outside! Where are all those guys?

When it howled for a while, it stood up with the bowl in its hand, and carefully carried it to the side of the sarcophagus. It kept making strange noises from its mouth, and then slowly poured the liquid from the bowl into it.

It picked up another bowl and poured it in. After pouring three bowls in a row. It threw itself on its knees beside the sarcophagus and howled loudly. I saw it raise its hands and keep waving it, and then ...... It lifted the shield I had given to Grayson.

The shield seemed to rattle, and the skeleton's eyes glowed red. At that moment, a mist of blood erupted from the sarcophagus, followed by a terrible howl.

The trolls on their knees screamed even harder, and then all the trolls standing in the hall knelt down, and they all raised their heads and joined in the howl.

The thing that gave me goosebumps the most happened when a troll sat up from the sarcophagus. And then it stood up again! The troll's body was stained with crimson blood. When it stood up from the sarcophagus, the kneeling troll screamed even more.

I'm not in the mood to think about whether this thing is resurrected or summoned, I need to find Grayson now.

It doesn't matter if he's alive or not.
