Volume II Stormfall 183 Battle of the Lakeside

Reginald, this guy still gives me a good impression, I occasionally look at him in a daze, and I imagine what he would be like if he was old. My intermittent memories are almost shattered that he should be a general or marshal or some kind of officer in the future, and this guy should have a long life and great achievements.

I don't want anything to happen to him, and I'm not sure he'll survive. If I think about it the other way, can I guarantee that I will survive? I shook my body, I could feel the shield on my back, and I glanced at Lothar, who was looking at me with a serious face.

I smiled at him.

The cavalry was ready, and I followed Reggie. Our front-row cavalrymen were wearing heavy armor on their bodies and horses, and the frontal protection of the horses was very good. They all had riding guns, which I didn't want to bring, but then I thought about it and asked them for one.

After putting on my helmet, I clenched the riding gun in my hand hard, it was the first time I had charged in this way. It's a lie to say no, rush over and go back and forth, and if I'm still alive, I think I'll have to thank the gods. Placing the pestle on the ground, I pulled out a short dagger and grabbed the tip of the knife with my right hand.

"May Bonsandy give me the power of death, and give me the power to hide from death, and I harvest souls in your name today, and may my sacrifice make your heart rejoice."

The blade cut through the skin, and the pain of the cut reached his heart, and the palm of his fingertips felt wet, and blood seeped out of the gap in his grip. Suddenly, a great sense of sadness welled up in my heart and spread to both of my shoulders.

Sadness!

Why am I sad? That is a kind of unwillingness, a kind of grievance, a kind of ...... Craving! A resentment, a desolation, an impulse to destroy and take revenge. Why should I grieve? Why am I grieved? This uncontrollable emotion made my hands tremble.

I haven't felt this kind of division for a long, long time, and this kind of emotion at this time is not good, I want anger not sadness! But I can't control my body now.

"Are you alright......" Reggie said to me suddenly.

"Hmm, no...... What's the matter. I lowered my head and pretended to inspect the armor next to me.

The cavalry at the front received the order and began to move, and I followed closely behind Reggie. "May Bonsandy bless me and my brothers around me, and may we no longer have fear, and may death be far away from us."

Faster and faster, the wind whistling in his ears, getting closer and closer, the cavalry at the front put down the erected cavalry guns.

"What makes me sad? What makes me sad? But I don't think it's the lament of the sea or the pain of lover's empathy. Where does that unwillingness in this sadness come from? Where does that intense resentment come from? ”

I thought to myself, and I tried to control the emotion. The horses didn't give me more time, and although the orcs had already seen us rushing towards us and had to defend ourselves, the galloping horses knocked down the orcs who tried to stop them and rushed directly into the camp.

Rushing to the front, I realized that maybe we are the ones who have the best hope of survival, and the possibility of being intercepted or shot by arrows will be greater. At this point, we are the arrows that shoot the bow, or the arrows that shoot out, and we rush over without thinking about turning back.

Luckily, the orcs' camp wasn't very thick, so we stabbed through their camp and rushed out, then continued on our way towards the deep forest junction. The orcs did not send troops to chase after them, and of course it is certain that they were followed by scouts.

When the day began to rise, we also stopped, and the four hundred cavalry, with about thirty casualties, were acceptable. About noon, a cavalryman appeared behind us.

"I've found you!" He grabbed the reins, and the guy looked muddy. "Lord Leorik is behind, please come with me to pick it up."

Soon a large number of people came out of the mountains with a snort. Leorik was covered in dirt, and his golden armor had lost its former glory. He didn't feel very happy when he saw Reggie, and the look on his face when he saw me was a great illustration of what it means to be surprised.

He asked me three questions in astonishment, but as the commander of the army, he did not continue his curiosity, but hurried to command the army and waited for the battle to begin in Lakeside Town.

When the Scout went to investigate, he finally found me again. "I'm still a little incredulous." He frowned and shook his head.

"There's something unbelievable about this." I said with a smile.

"Do you really know what's going to happen in the future?" I looked at him, wondering what he had in mind to say that.

"I don't know everything." I say.

"Did we win?" He asked.

"Win." I say.

"When? How to win? He was curious.

"This war will continue...... For a long time. But in the end we will win. I said.

"Lothar is still alive?" He squinted at me.

"Yes." I looked into his eyes, and this guy didn't have a very pure look in his eyes when he said this.

"Hopefully this time he will lead us to victory." He didn't laugh very naturally when he said this.

It didn't take long for the scout to come back and report that the orcs had attacked!

At this time, the commander directly turned into Leoric, but he didn't let us attack directly, I don't know what their battle plan is, and I don't bother to ask.

I don't know how long it's been since the scouts came back to report it, the only thing I know is that it's getting dark and that the orcs are using artillery during their attack.

I can't imagine what it would have been like for orcs to bombard the soldiers on the bridge with artillery, but the scene of being torn apart after being hit by a cannonball haunts me.

When the herald returned to report again, Leoric ordered the march, bringing back the news that the orcs had captured the stone bridge and stormed the town.

Could this be their battle plan?

Leorik's cavalry, plus those of us who rushed out, numbered less than seven hundred, and the remaining less than two thousand were infantry and archers. Now, if you can successfully stab yourself in the back of the orc team, maybe this battle will still be fought.

Quickly move to the woods near the bridgehead, the orcs are about to break through the battle line at the bridgehead, and a large number of orcs are preparing on the shore. Suddenly, there was a flash on the bridge, followed by a cannon shot, and in less than a minute, the orcs on the side of the bridge began to move slowly.

"The bridge has fallen." Reggie lowered his binoculars and looked at me. The commander in the distance should have seen it, but he didn't let us charge. It seems that the orcs are not stupid, and they will definitely be worried that we will kill back after we rush out, so there are still a large number of infantry in defensive formation.

The orcs rushed to the other side of the bridge, and soon the house on the other side was on fire. Leorik still did not have an order. The horses in the team were uneasy to dig into the ground, and we waited for his order.

"It should be almost, why haven't you given the order yet?" Reggie closed the telescope anxiously and turned it on again.

"The orcs on the bridge have ...... They rushed over! Reggie looked at Leoric.

I gritted my teeth and didn't say anything, it was useless to say anything at this point, and I wasn't a commander. Suddenly, the horn sounded, and I was startled, and I saw the herald running past the infantry on horseback with a flag.

"First out of the infantry." I craned my neck to look.

By this time it was already dawn, and the infantry rushed out of the woods and charged directly at the bridgehead camp, followed by archers. There is still a long way to go from the woods to the bridgehead, and the Orcs are not vegetarians, and their bows and arrows have a longer range than ours.

The heralds ran towards us, and a few of the standard-bearers raised the banner at once. There was a loud bang in the array, and everyone was making final preparations.

Leorik waved his hand, and the flag bearer in the front row rushed out first. By daybreak, the camp was not small, but our infantry was already close to the orcs.

The orcs didn't leave too many troops behind, and we were outnumbered. The standard-bearer led us and did not rush directly from the front, but went around in a circle and cut cross-cutting into the side of the fight.

There was a slight pain in the palm of my hand, and the war horse under my crotch carried me, and I rushed towards the orcs who were fighting with that inexplicable resentment.

The horses ran over their fighting positions, and the standard-bearers in front led us back, and when they rushed into the enemy line again, they were already in a crush, and the standard-bearers rushed up the stone bridge, and we rushed towards the town.

Some of these battles are fought!

The orcs saw us sneaking up on their rear and urgently moved their troops to the bridge, trying to block us on the bridge. At this point, I felt like I was about to jump off the bridge into the lake, and I wanted to rush to the other side.

Thankfully, the orcs didn't leave their artillery at the bridgehead, so I just felt fucking lucky as we roared across the bridge. As a large number of cavalry poured across the bridge, the horn was sounded again.

This tactic is still good. Ha! The retreating soldiers draw the orcs in, and we cut them off in front and back! Does such a simple tactic seem useful here? I'm glad for the man who made this tactic, ah, that's what Lothar had in mind.

I was glad that victory in this battle seemed to be within reach. The cavalry split into two groups, and Reggie and I cleared all the way along Lakeshore Avenue and divided the orcs into small pieces and forced them into alleys.

The shouts of killing in the town were shocking, some houses were burning, some of the wounded were crying, but no one stopped, and there was little time for everyone to do more than fight.

By the time we had rushed from east to west, halfway through the town and back to the bridge, Leoric had already crossed the stone bridge with his troops.

There is hope! If we fight like this, maybe we can destroy them in advance, maybe Stormwind won't fall, and we can change the future.

The retreating soldiers have returned from the west of the town, and although the orcs trapped in the town should still outnumber us, it is only a matter of time before they are cut apart and broken down!

They're not that scary!

Killing a back-and-forth orc along the lakeshore avenue has all been wiped out, and now all we have to do is play a game of whack-a-mole.

Reggie took the reins, and our team stopped in the middle of the avenue. While I don't know how many orcs are trapped in the town or even how many alleys they're trapped in, the encirclement is shrinking.

As we paused our assault and waited for further orders, a loud explosion erupted in the town. When I looked up, I saw a puff of black smoke rising from the center of the town.

Another bang.

At this time, the sound of explosions in the city made my heart flutter, but our duty was to garrison the lakeshore avenue, and we could not just rush into the town without the orders of the heralds. Desertion is not rewarded for the final victory. I understand that.

I looked at Reggie, who was nervously pacing back and forth on his horse, and there were many alleys at the mouth of the alley that just couldn't see what was really going on in the town.

Twenty-seven explosions have been heard, I remember how many they have been! I'm getting a little anxious, and the noise seems to be getting farther and farther away. What's going on?

Not a single person rushed from the town to Lakeshore Boulevard, not a single one! Maybe we'll win! That's all I can do to comfort myself.

"Lord Lothar orders quick support!" Finally a man rushed out of an alley, covered in blood, and almost arched to the ground as he rushed out.

"Where to go!" Reggie yelled at him.

The herald pointed to the front, "There's a street ahead!" The orcs are fleeing north! When he shouted these words, he felt like he had shouted out the last breath in his chest.

Reggie screamed, tugged at the reins, and rushed forward. I followed closely. The guy seemed to shout something again, but I didn't hear it.
