Chapter 3 School Starts

Lockhart sat in the auditorium for the opening ceremony.

The students whispered below, and most of them looked up at Lockhart curiously and inquiringly—another Defence Against the Dark Arts professor, the famous Gilderoy Lockhart, and it was unknown how long he could hold out under the curse.

To Lockhart's left sat Snape, frowning as in the books and looking a little absent-minded. On the right-hand side sat Professor Flitwick, a professor of dwarven descent who had put a thick book under his ass in order to make himself look less special, which puzzled Lockhart, why didn't he just make the chair higher?

Just then, the doors of the auditorium opened, and Professor McGonagall came in with a group of children. It was very much like a mother bird leading a flock of chicks. The little ones were all curious, and some of the Muggle children were even trembling......

Then the hat began to sing, and Lockhart finally knew why he was casting the "Earplug Listen" spell on himself when he met Snape at the door of the Great Hall. But now that the freshmen have all come in, he must maintain the prestige of his teacher. So I can only endure it!

"Welcome. Dumbledore said, candlelight shining on his beard, "Welcome back to Hogwarts for the new school year, I have something to say," Dumbledore cleared his throat and continued, "We are delighted to welcome a new teacher to our school this year. ”

"Professor Gilderoy Lockhart, your new Defence Against the Dark Arts professor, is an excellent wizard and I am delighted to be back at Hogwarts ten years after graduating. ”

Lockhart stood up and gestured to everyone, eliciting cheers from a large crowd of girls and book lovers.

Then there was the Sorting House, and Lockhart remembered his experience as he watched the students being called by name, and then walked out, putting on the Sorting Hat, and then calling out the name of the House in the hat.

Lockhart was born into a mixed-race family: a witch mother, a Muggle father, and two older sisters. He was the only child in his family who showed a talent for magic, and he was a smart, beautiful little boy who had the unbridled favor of his mother. This, coupled with his awareness of his status as a wizard different from his sisters, made vanity spread like a weed with the flower of evil, and it spread in his heart boundlessly.

Young Lockhart was accepted into Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, but Lockhart had no idea that the school he was about to enter was filled with witches and wizards like him, many of whom were better than him. (In fact, the scene he expects to see himself in Hogwarts is the same as he did in the Harry Potter movie—walking down the hallway, surrounded by whispers of excitement about his magical powers.) And this scene did not happen to him, because every student who can enter Hogwarts will have a similar magic before entering the school. )

This is not to say that Lockhart is an ordinary wizard. In fact, his teachers thought that he was above average in intelligence and ability, and that if he worked hard, he might be able to achieve something of his own, even if it didn't live up to the ambitions he had so much to boast among his classmates (to be the youngest Minister of Magic in England) Lockhart, who was assigned to Ravenclaw, quickly achieved good grades in his studies, but his natural "do it or don't" arrogance haunted him, making him increasingly dissatisfied with himself. Gradually, he used his talents for shortcuts and laziness. He studied diligently not to improve himself, but to earn himself attention, and he longed for various awards.

He lobbied the principal to start a school newspaper because nothing made him happier than seeing his name and photo printed. He wasn't very popular, but he still achieved his primary goal by making him known to everyone in the school. Lockhart finally left Hogwarts, much to the relief of the teachers and school staff alike. But soon more and more of his deeds abroad were heard, and his dedication to the cause of eliminating all kinds of dangers and dark creatures in distant places testified to his extraordinary courage and resilience. The truth is, Lockhart has finally found his true career. He was never a bad wizard, he was just too lazy. He decided to focus his talents in one direction: memory magic. He perfected this intricate magic, then found a dozen great and brave wizards and witches, successfully altering their memories and stealing their heroic exploits. At the end of each "adventure", he returned home with a new book that richly and informatively recounted "his" heroic feats. Then, he had a dream, of course, it can also be said that he was crossed by the person in the dream, and he now has the memory of two lives.

The sorting was still going on, and a man came over to give Snape a newspaper, and he immediately got up and left the auditorium after reading it. After a while, the Headmaster and McGonagall left.

Lockhart picked up the newspaper and looked at it, "Muggle-baffling flying cars", and below it was a flying car happily flying through the newspaper. Oh, poor Harry.
