Red Pupil Section 6 Legends
The apprentice's dinner consisted of bread, bacon, cabbage and chickpeas, which were served at regular intervals, and if you missed the time, you would go hungry.
In the middle of each month and at the end of the month, a pot of chowder soup is carefully prepared in the kitchen to replenish the body of the apprentices who lack meat. The method is to wash the broken bones and minced meat of the pig and cow and put it into the boiling soup, boil it for a day and a night, then add a large number of seasonal vegetables, and boil it for half an hour on high heat before coming out of the pot.
It was a traditional delicacy of the Bromin Academy, which was said to have been invented by Dean Kozmo, but it was only the second day of the foggy moon, and we could only drink the light and tasteless brush pot water.
Winnie suggested that I have a meal with my mentor, who had a high standard of food, and I rejected her offer. Privilege creates an invisible barrier, which defeats my father's purpose in sending me to Bromin. I had to mingle with the average apprentice to find real talent and earn their trust.
Remembering the agreement between Dino and Zeny, I didn't have the heart to chew slowly, and hurriedly finished my share, I glanced at Winnie and walked away from the noisy cafeteria.
Thankfully, Caspar Williams didn't follow, he whispered to Alfred, and he didn't have time to look around.
It wasn't quite dark yet, so I walked down the gravel path to the library and looked up at it, standing like a silent giant between heaven and earth.
Winnie grabbed the corner of my coat, trembling and not daring to step forward, she said in a trembling voice, "Miss, let's not come any closer......"
I can guess what she's worried about. The library is the grandest building in the entire Bromin College, dignified, deep, and filled with a certain oppressive atmosphere. There is a legend among the apprentices that the Library is a sleeping demon that devours some living life every year in order to sustain its magic.
Cannibalism is, of course, absurd rumors, but their feelings are not wrong. The library had been standing for nearly a hundred years before the completion of Bromin College, when it was a temple dedicated to the goddess Kethera by the ancient Frynns, and the stones used in the construction were magically blessed, and the entire building formed a huge magic circle, known as the "Guardian of Kaithera".
When the ancient flints withdrew from the history of the continent of Salo, the temple lost its original glory and eventually became the library of the Bromin Academy. To this day, except for a few senior mentors, no one knows the truth of the legend.
A few dense mushu trees looked diagonally to the library, and I hid in the shadows of the trees, waiting patiently. The chirping of insects among the blades of grass, the faint noise of the apprentices, and the sound of the surging tide are intertwined, as if you are in another world.
It wasn't long before Dino walked briskly to the library, pushed open the side door, and the orange candlelight outlined his outline, looking from afar, like a unique silhouette of a character.
Waiting for Dino was Trainee Fresen, who was already a beginner magician, and Dean Kozmo arranged for him to work as a librarian in order to hone his abilities and save some money for the college.
Fresen was also a rare eccentric, and in order not to waste time, he even moved the bed to the library, took three meals a day to his apprentice, and read his favorite magic book day and night.
The two had a brief conversation. It was so far away that I didn't hear anything. Dino handed Fresen a packet of things, and the latter leaned over to let him in, then closed the side door.
As the night grew darker, the moonlight and stars lit up the land, and everything was calm again, and Dino's arrival was only an unknown episode.
I took a deep breath and walked towards the library, Winnie hesitated for a moment, and quickly followed, her footsteps a little panicked.
Candlelight leaked through the cracks in the wooden door, illuminating the mottled stone steps, and there was no movement in the room. I knocked on the hoop, and a moment later, Fresen asked in a loud wreak, "Who is it?" ”
"I'm Priscilla Coache, and I'm looking for Mentor Zeni. Please open the door. ”
"The library is closed, and apprentices are not allowed to enter without the permission of their instructors. Mentor Zeni didn't mention that he wanted to see you, so please come back tomorrow. ”
"I'm ...... with Dino"
He immediately interrupted me. "Miss Priscilla, Zeny only allowed Dino in, he was the only one."
I touched a nose of ash, my face was feverish, and I was embarrassed and speechless. was so ruthlessly rejected that he didn't even call the door open! I was annoyed. No one has ever rejected me except my father, this Fresen must be in his right mind!
"Miss, let's go back." Winnie whispered.
What else can be done? Did you go to Dean Kozmo and cry and ask him to punish this brainless Fresen? I sighed helplessly. The Academy is not his father's castle, and even the future lord of Bromin Island does not have many privileges.
I had to go back to my dorm room and lean against the window looking out at the library.
An hour passed, two hours passed, until the bedtime bell rang and the dormitory door was locked, and Dino still did not appear. What the hell is Zeney messing around, does it take so long to tutor alone?
My eyelids began to fight, and fatigue set in, and just as I was losing patience and preparing to wash and go to bed, Dino's figure appeared in the bushes, trotted all the way back, climbed over the walls of the dormitory, and climbed through the window into the second-floor dormitory.
There won't be a second magic apprentice as agile as he is, and I have the impression that only a warrior with his armor off can do it.
