The earth excavated from the pond is piled up into a mound on the west side, and woody trees and shrubs such as tulipwood, red fennel, and persimmon are planted, and a winding path is built between the pond and the mound. The pebble paving is not slippery, and it is easy to loosen and fall off.

There is still a small open space in the southwest corner of the courtyard, and Shi Jiamu plans to place a stone table and stone bench as a place to rest, and sit two people to drink tea opposite each other, which is just right.

In order to increase the depth of field, he cleverly used the courtyard of the villa next door, opened a leaky window on the west wall, and planted several plum blossoms outside the window. The leaky window breaks the closed wall, creating the artistic conception of "there is a garden outside the garden". At dusk, the sunset shines through the plum blossoms and leaky windows, casting on the brick path, and the light and shadow quietly change shape, creating a quiet atmosphere.

After the design was completed, Shi Jiamu drew a simple schematic diagram for Chen Lian to see.
