Chapter 998: Hunting is forbidden in the mountain temple

The hunter was Cao E, a villager in Maple Bay Village, who hunted the pheasant and brought it home and was about to boil water to scald his hair, when suddenly Yu Chongyang, a man from the neighboring village, invited him and said that his daughter-in-law gave birth to a man for him, and he wanted Cao E and his wife to go to the banquet. At this moment, Cao E tied the stiff pheasant with a rope and hung it on the iron nail on the wall, and went out with his wife, planning to deal with it when he returned home after being a guest.

But the couple came home very late, it was so dark that they couldn't see their fingers, and after they were full of wine and food, they walked a mountain road from that village to this village, and they were a little tired. The wife said that she would do it again tomorrow, but it would be easy to break if she got it out now.

At noon the next day, his wife boiled water and scalded the pheasant's hair, but the flesh was purple and black, and it was a little black. She said, the pheasant is broken, get rid of it, right? Cao E disagreed, saying that if you don't eat, I'll eat. Cao E used a knife to cut the skin of the pheasant, cut it, took out the contents and threw it away, revealing bright red meat. Then he said to his wife, "Isn't it pretty?" He chopped the pheasant into pieces, threw it in the pot and simmered it with the vermicelli, and when it was served in a sea bowl, his wife remembered its purple skin, and she still doubted it and refused to eat it. Cao E felt that it didn't matter if he ate it, so he added a plate of peanuts, drank two taels of white dry, and ate a pot full of mountain chicken in one meal.

That night, Cao's forehead began to itch, especially his lower body, and he scratched desperately in the house alone, scratching his skin red, and then scratching it and causing lumps. He guessed that it must be because he ate pheasant, and he couldn't hide it from his wife.

My wife said you don't listen to me, you are fooled, that pheasant was not dealt with last night, it has gone bad today, you should not eat it. As she spoke, the wife poured out the leftover pheasant soup, took the empty bowl back to the kitchen and washed it desperately, for fear that the toxins would not be washed away, and put it in the pot to cook for a while before she was relieved. Cao E also regretted it, saying that he had known that this would have happened, wouldn't I have it if I didn't eat it?

In the evening, he went to the village clinic to see a doctor, but the doctor was off work, so he had to wait until the next day, and the erythema on his body had expanded from the lower body to the upper body. The doctor looked at the symptoms, asked about the situation, and said that this should be treated as both the symptoms and the root causes, on the one hand, prescribe medicine for Cao to take internally, and inject to reduce inflammation, and on the other hand, prescribe external medicine, so that Cao can take additional liniment. Cao Yi tossed for a week, spent a lot of money, and had almost no effect. Because of the itching on his body, he took off his coat and looked like a lobster that was red and purple.

The wife said worriedly, you had better go to the county seat to see a doctor, but I am afraid that the money will not be enough to spend. If you don't itch, go up to the mountains to hunt and sell your prey for money. Cao E said, what are you in a hurry, there must be a road before the car reaches the mountain. He changed into loose clothes so that his tight clothes would not itch his body. When his wife saw him go to another room and get a shotgun, she asked, "You are sick, and you still want to hunt?" He said, of course, I have to hunt, otherwise, I won't be able to get the prey to sell for money, and I won't have any money for medical treatment.

Cao E is very stubborn, insisting on carrying a shotgun up the mountain, the back of the mountain is deep and densely forested, and there are relatively many wild animals. But there was a monastery there, and the monks used to come out to stop the hunting of wild animals. But now that he urgently needs to hunt and get money to cure his itchy disease, he can't care so much. While tickling, turn to the back of the mountain. He crawled deep in the jungle, expecting badger pigs, muntjacs, fire foxes and other good prey to hit the muzzle of his gun, he looked around keenly, and found a monk in a robe who was framing a leaflet to a camphor tree, which covered most of the leaflet, and when he got out of the way, the words on it appeared: It is forbidden to kill and take life here, please be merciful to all donors, Bodhisattva bless!

Cao E thought that the monk was nosy, so he stood up and said that if I don't kill and take my life, can the Bodhisattva really bless me? The monk turned his head and saw Cao's forehead, and said, Amitabha, the donor does not need to doubt.

Cao was itchy on his body, but he still reached out and scratched hard. At this time, the monk had already walked up to him and was about to say something, Cao Yi grabbed the white, now I am itching uncomfortably, can the Bodhisattva bless me not to itch? The monk looked at the shotgun he was carrying on his body and said, "As long as you give up the idea of killing, the Bodhisattva can bless you."

Cao E said, monk, do you dare to hook (bet) with me? If I don't kill and the itching on my body doesn't heal, I'll look for you. The monk said, "Your karma is too heavy, so what's the benefit of me pulling hooks with you?" It's your own karma, and you can only eliminate it by yourself, and no one can replace it.

Cao E stomped his feet in self-deprecation, then took off the shotgun on his body and held it in his hand and said, In this case, I still don't believe it, I want to hunt some prey and sell it to buy medicine to cure the disease.

The monk said, Amitabha, the more you kill, the greater your karma, the more serious your illness will be, even if you have the money to see a doctor, you can't cure it, the donor might as well wait and see. The monk turned around and was about to leave, when Cao E's hurried around to the monk, took off his pants, and showed him the large patch of lupus erythematosus that grew on his lower body. Asked him, I dispelled the idea of killing, can the itching on my body really be cured?

The monk was speechless, of course I can't guarantee it, but I can guarantee that from now on, if you insist on sparing your life and releasing your life, your condition will be reduced or even cured. Cao E immediately unloaded the bullets in the chamber of the gun, and was not ready to hunt wild animals, and this thought made him feel less itchy on his body.

The monk saw that Cao Yi hesitated for a while, threw the bullet in his hand into the bushes, he smiled on his face, and said that the donor discarded the bullet is to let go of the killing karma, which is as special as the butcher who put down the butcher's knife and became a Buddha on the ground, Amitabha, congratulations to the donor for giving birth to enlightenment.

Cao E then changed to a respectful tone and said, thank you for the teachings of the eminent monks, I have almost spent all my family savings in order to cure itching, and now I am ready to buy live animals and release them, but what should I do if I have no money?

The monk said, "If you have this good thought, you can do it." Cao E suddenly came up with a good idea, he raised his shotgun and said excitedly, take it away, use it as money, and use it to buy turtles or other living creatures to release.

The monk stopped him from doing this, saying that if you sell the shotgun, it is still indirect killing, no, no, it is still evil. Cao Er had already considered that if he sold the shotgun, although he did not kill directly, the buyer would still kill with the shotgun, and he still bore the fault of joint killing, and the only way was to abolish the shotgun.

After Cao returned home, while scratching, he sawed the shotgun into several sections with a hacksaw, and then sold it to the scrap purchase station as scrap iron, exchanged more than 10 yuan, and prepared to buy a turtle in the county vegetable market, but the small turtle with a large copper coin sold at 25 yuan, he didn't have enough money, and couldn't buy it, so he bought more than 10 yuan a pound of yellow eel and put it into the Huancheng River, after a period of time, the itch on his body still did not improve, he doubted whether what the monk said was a lie, so he walked over the mountain into the monastery to find the monk, Revealing the lupus erythematosus on the body again, the monk looked at it and said disapprovingly, even if you take medicine and scrub, it will take several courses of treatment to see the effect, not to mention that this is a karmic disease, it is difficult to cure it with medicinal stones, and it is the same for good deeds such as releasing life and nursing students. It's like if you plant grain today, you won't be able to grow millet tomorrow, and you won't even be able to sprout and leaves. If you have too many utilitarian thoughts about conditions, even if you occasionally do good, it is a false good, not a true good, and there is no benefit in falsely doing good. Amitabha, may the benefactor refrain from all evil, pursue all good, and turn evil into good in everything!
