Chapter 1086: Look at the Cauliflower Snake

Previous Chapter

The cauliflower snake finally slipped to the gate of the Xishan Monastery, there were many bald heads in it, there were men and women, in fact, they were all monks and nuns, it was not clear, and it did not need to be clear, because it was a different species.

On this morning, it liked the sound of ringing the bell, knocking on the wooden fish, chanting the scriptures, and all kinds of voices, but it did not dare to climb in, it was a little afraid, and took the opportunity to climb in when no one was moving at the gate of the temple.

Look up, there is a towering ancient cypress on the west side of the courtyard wall, under the root of the tree is a green lawn, that is a good place, it can not pass through the white road in the temple to reach the lawn, so it drills into the temple wall under a drainage ditch, when it does not rain heavily and there is a flash flood, this ditch is only damp, or there is a small amount of water, and there is no water after a long time.

Now it's only a little wet inside, which is just right for snakes. After climbing for a while, the gutter was still relatively bright, because the dappled sunlight penetrated through the gap in the gutter, and after climbing again, the sun was no longer visible, and the gutter was darker.

The cauliflower snake felt like it was lurking in the shadow of the towering cypress, and it crawled out of the cracks in the gutter, and it did. This is the lawn, curled up beside a dogtail grass and quietly listening to the monks and nuns, almost entering a state of meditation.

At noon, a butterfly with flower wings flew out of nowhere, and it hovered in the air, as if to inspect something, and then circled twice towards the towering ancient cypress, and landed on the petal of the lawn.

The petals are white, trembling in the breeze, the butterfly wings are black, fluttering in the tranquility, this white and black two different species, in intimate contact, I don't know whether it is a butterfly love flower, or a flower love butterfly, a long time has not left, as if whispering, but no one can hear, no one can understand, only butterflies and flowers communicate with each other unwillingly, like a pair of long-lost friends.

At this time, the sound of the sutra rested, the monks and nuns in the temple were eating, curled up next to a dogtail grass cauliflower snake, moved, looked up and saw a flower butterfly resting on the petals in front of it, it suddenly wanted to make a tooth sacrifice, intended to sneak over quietly, and unexpectedly took a mouthful.

But it let go of its curled body, and the dogtail was tripped up, and this movement seemed to sound the alarm of the plants that only the flowers could hear, and the butterfly resting on the white petals was also alert, and it immediately took off, skimmed the lawn, and soared into the air, like a lock of black silk at the main entrance of the temple.

The cauliflower snake sighed with interest, not too hungry, and tightened its body and curled its head and tail beside the white petals, like waiting for the butterfly to fly back and wait for the opportunity to catch it, and like looking forward to smelling the pleasant scriptures again.

At this time, a little girl in a blue coarse cloth robe at the main entrance of the temple looked up at the sky, and her footsteps moved slowly towards the lawn, and the butterfly was flying in the air, and she followed it.

Perhaps the butterfly spotted her and was afraid of being caught, so even if it made a dive to the ground, it did not dare to linger, but immediately flew high.

Finding that the ground at the main entrance of the temple was bare, with no flowers to perch on and suck on, and that there was a danger of being caught, the butterfly quickly left and flew on the way to the temple.

Since the little girl had followed, it was inconvenient to fly back to the lawn, resting on the white petals to relive the old dream, and only flew around the towering ancient cypress once, and then flew out of the temple wall. The little girl opened her mouth wide and watched it fly through the lush trees, farther and farther away from her, until a broad leaf wrapped around the wild vine covered the butterfly entirely, and she withdrew her gaze with a look of loss.

Suddenly a cauliflower snake on the lawn fell into her eyes, she was surprised at first, she didn't even dare to look more, and took a few steps back, and couldn't help but look back a few more times, and found that a white petal was pressed down by the snake's body, she wanted to drive away the snake, pick the white petal, but felt that the snake also found her, was erecting its head, and spit black snake hyacinth at her.

The little girl returned to the front door of the monastery and wandered around, trying to find a stick to take to the lawn and hold the head of the snake to subdue it.

She was leaning over slightly, her eyes wide in searching, when she suddenly heard Master Void Jue shouting, Aunt Gui, you are not concentrating on chanting the scriptures, what are you looking for there? Gu looked up and saw Master Kongjue pacing in the corridor of the temple with his hands folded, so she walked over and whispered, Master Grandpa, there is a snake.

Master Void asked, where are the snakes? Gu Gu's fingers towered over the lawn of the towering ancient cypress. Venerable Enlightenment said, Amitabha, the snake is a different species, and we monks should not care about it. How did Aunt Gui listen to her heart? , still at the door of the temple, the wall buttress to find a stick failed, so he picked up half a brick, went straight to the lawn on the side of the temple, perhaps to smash the cauliflower snake crouched under a white petal.

Seeing it in his eyes, Master Kongjue understood, and Ma Li came down from the corridor and said to Aunt Gui, what are you doing with the guy? Gui Gu returned to Master Kongjue, as if she was afraid of alarming the cauliflower snake, and after shaking half a brick in her hand, she still whispered, "Fight the snake."

Amitabha, how can a monk kill? Then, Venerable Kongjue said in the voice of an elder, "Aunt Gui, where did you pick up the half of the brick in your hand, always put it back in its original place, and the disciples of the Buddhist family should abide by the rules and precepts and recite the scriptures."

Aunt Gui reluctantly threw down the half of the brick in her hand, and did not put it back in its place, she also made a request, Grandpa Kongjue, I will go to see the snake for a while and recite the scriptures. After all, Gui Gu is a child, Master Kongjue didn't say anything, but followed her, and when he walked far away from the lawn, he really saw a cauliflower snake curled up on a white petal, so he grabbed Gui Gu and said, don't go, lest the snake be disturbed, it is listening to the scriptures!

The sound of the scriptures in the temple came and went, and Aunt Gui actually hated listening to the scriptures very much, she just wanted to play.

After looking at it for a while, Master Kongjue pulled Gu Gu and whispered, "Let's go to the scriptures." Although Aunt Gui didn't want to learn the scriptures, she didn't dare not go.

That time she was greedy for fun, and she didn't complete the homework assigned by Master Kongjue, so she was not only punished for not having a meal, but also punished her for cleaning the monastery. 6 years ago, the Kongjue Master Dervishes went down the mountain and walked into a village, and suddenly heard the cry of a baby, and followed the sound to find a soap tree on the side of the road, and found that the black cloth swaddling clothes were wrapped in a red-faced baby, who was crying with his mouth open, obviously an abandoned baby. Master Kongjue squatted down to see that the abandoned baby still had a fetus on its head, which showed that this was an abandoned baby who had not been born long ago.

Amitabha. The more Master Kongjue recited the Buddha's name, the more he felt compassion, and picked up the baby with his hand, only to know that it was a woman, and there was a note pressed under the swaddling clothes, which wrote the baby's birth time, that is, the year of Jiazi Yue Bingyin Day Ding Mao was born, in order to facilitate the call, Master Kongjue immediately took the number with the character of the first day of the year, and called her Guigu.

Subsequently, he took Guigu to Xishan Monastery to be fed with porridge and rice, and when she was 3 years old when Guigu could speak, he taught her to recite the scriptures.

Gui Gu came to the door of the sutra room on the east side of the temple, and the shadow of the cauliflower snake on the lawn flashed in her mind, and the Kongjue Master who walked in front suddenly turned her head and looked at her and said, Gui Gu, the snake is a side life, and the side life is also life, we Buddhist disciples, we must cherish life, we must not harm it, hurting it is to create evil, and if we create too many evils, we will either go to hell after death in the future, or become a hungry ghost, or we will also be reincarnated as a snake, pig, dog, insect and other side life.

Gu didn't quite understand, but knew that she had to respect Master Kongjue, so she smiled and nodded. After that, he raised his little face and looked at him and asked, "Grandpa Kongjue, after the class, can I still look at the snake?" Master Kongjue was stunned for a moment and said, it's better not to look at it. If you want to see it, look far away, and don't let the snake bite, because if the snake bites, it will kill people.
