Chapter 66: A Journey to France

Paris, France.

Carnot and Dumbledore stepped off the plane, and a flight attendant supported the gray-haired old Deng.

"Two gentlemen, I'll send you here."

The stewardess said goodbye politely, and Carnot smiled goodbye to her, and Dumbledore nodded.

"Headmaster, do you want to do a full set of plays, and I'll push you a wheelchair over?" Kano teased.

"No, I think my good grandson should be happy to carry me." Dumbledore replied.

The two walked out of the airport, and Kano flagged down a taxi.

"Passengers, where are you going?" The driver asked in French.

Dumbledore immediately gave an address in French, and the taxi quickly left with an old man and a young man.

In an inconspicuous corner, a man in a long trench coat beckoned an owl and handed it a letter.

Kano and Dumbledore soon came to a dry fountain, and Dumbledore stepped into the guardrail first.

"Let's go, let's register with the French Ministry of Magic." Dumbledore motioned for Kano to follow.

Kano also stepped into the fountain, which turned into an enclosed elevator that carried the two underground.

The French Ministry of Magic appeared before them, steel and glass forming a dome, and enchanted glass reflecting the sky.

A large group of guys in long trench coats were waiting for them.

"Oh, I don't want to see that." Dumbledore muttered, a smile on his face, and hugged the middle-aged man who came up.

"Dumbledore, long time no see, why didn't you take the Floo Net?" The middle-aged man said hello.

"It's been a long time, Dominique, I'm here to feel the French style again." Dumbledore lied casually because he wanted to experience Muggle transportation, which wizards generally did not understand. This time, Kano took him with him, and he got his wish.

"This is Canopus. Blake, who is now also one of the Hogwarts Governors, is here with me for the ... You know. ”

Dominic, who had a beard, showed a crying and laughing expression: "Don't shy away from anything, several Aurors here know that Nicol is going to hold a funeral." ”

"My ex was at his funeral, and so was my ex, and now that they're all dead, Nicol invited me to his funeral again."

Dominic shook his head, and even a few of the Aurors behind him couldn't help but laugh.

Dumbledore didn't laugh: "This time, it could be true." ”

Dominic's smile froze, and he immediately left the door with Carnot and Dumbledore, leading them to a reception room.

"What is true? Dumbledore, is that what I mean? ”

"Yes, Dominica. Nicol was tired, and now he should have less than a month left to live. ”

Dumbledore said calmly, and Dominic spun around like an ant on a hot pan.

"How can he be, he is a living history book, our national treasure. There is a new rehearsal opera to be staged next month, how can he be willing to die? ”

No matter how much Dominic, the French Minister of Magic, could not believe, there was no change.

At nine o'clock the next morning, a glittering silver portkey appeared in front of Kano and Dumbledore, an old teapot.

"Nicol's invitation is here, I'll go and call Dominic." Dumbledore sent a message to Dominic, and he immediately went to the hotel where the two were staying.

The three of them put their hands on the doorkey, and Kano felt a hook pull at his body, and the three disappeared into the room in an instant.

They came to the door of an antique French courtyard and thought that this was Nicol's retreat.

Dominic stretched his face, with two dark circles under his eyes, and knocked on the door.

"Honey, there's a knock on the door!"

"You go ahead!"

The door clicked open from the inside, and Dominic, Dumbledore, and Carno entered the house together.

Nicolamel, who was very thin and had a gray beard, was staring at his wife, Perenell, who had been with him for more than 600 years.

"My bones are loose, and I'm afraid I'm going to break when I stand up now."

"I'm not much better, dear." Perenelle put away her wand, apparently she had opened the door with a spell.

"Nicol, Peret, we're here." Dumbledore greets his oldest friend.

"Albus, long time no see." Nicol took out his wand and pointed at the wine cabinet, "What do you want to drink?" ”

"The juice is good, and if it is the strawberry juice that Perley makes herself, it will be the best."

"I want whiskey." Dominic was unceremonious.

"Domi, don't be so angry." Nicol said calmly, "This is Mr. Canopus, what do you want to drink?" ”

"Just like the principal, thank you."

Nicol waved his wand, and three printed soft chairs appeared behind the trio. Three drinks flew straight out of the wine cabinet and landed in front of them.

"You may be seated, everybody."

Dominique picked up the wine glass and took a sip, and couldn't help but ask: "Mr. Lemay..."

"Call me Nicol, we've known each other for years."

"Nicol, have you really decided?"

The old man nodded vigorously, and Kano heard something snap with a click. Nicol put his arm around his neck expressionlessly and drank the drink from his glass.

Kano smelled it, it was a powerful bone spirit.

"As you can see, Domi. Forty years ago, when you first came to my house, I could still hold you. Nicol smiled self-deprecatingly, "Now, I'm so fragile that I can even break my bones when I sneeze." ”

"It's been too long, I've been alive for too long."

"But you're Nicol Lemay, and with your ingenuity, you can make alchemical items to make your life more comfortable, aren't you?" Domini was anxious and stood up again.

"That's right, if I want to, I can fix this tonight." Nicol nodded again.

"But the decay of the flesh is not a problem, it just reminds me that it is really time to rest."

"My heart is tired."

Perenelle reached out to hold her husband, and the two lovers who had been with each other for centuries looked at each other and smiled.

"Death is not the end, but the beginning of another journey." Nicol looked at Dominic with a smile, "My dear will be with me, no matter where I go." ”

Dominic sighed and sat back in his chair.

As the saying goes, there is an old man in the family, if there is a treasure, Nicolamet's status in the French wizarding world is transcendent.

Now the ancestors said that they were tired of living, and no one could stop them.

"How much longer?"

"Come to think of it, I still have fifteen days of supply for my elixir of longevity." Nicol said, "That's enough for me to take care of my afterlife." ”

"My will has been written, please help me execute it."

"As for the funeral, I'll ask Albus to officiate it for me."

Dumbledore smiled and nodded, and Dominic sighed and took his leave.

"I'm going to prepare for the funeral."

"Invite as many people as you can to come and let them all see that I'm dead. I don't want to have my grave opened for an autopsy. Nicol instructed.

After Dominic left, Nicol looked at Canopus, who had not made a sound.

"Hello, Canopus."
