Chapter 293: Hard Days

Fragmented, distorted, painfully ...... The world has survived, and so have the Broken. They fed on nuts, grass roots, and the few fish they could catch in the swamp, the water had to be boiled to drink, and they had to seek refuge from storms they hadn't seen before, and they struggled to survive, but they did survive. As the seasons change, so do the animals. There were many species they had never seen before, but anyway, there were more animals. When the Breakers are lucky enough to hunt something, they can feed on the flesh of that prey. They survived.

At least, most of them survived. Just a few days ago, Herac went missing. He had been living in apathy and confusion for months, and although Colleen had been reluctant to say so, both she and Nobalton knew that he would soon join the ranks of the Lost. Herac was the last person to protect Colleen from Shattrath, and Nobalton could feel her loss.

And though Nobordon never said it, he always suspected that one day he would lose his mind, leave in a daze, never to return, and eventually become an ethereal memory.

He continued to practice every day, worshipping reverently to the top of the mountain, hoping that one day he would be forgiven, he would receive grace, and the light would shine on him again.

Every day, however, he returned to camp disappointed.

And every night he suffers from the same nightmare, day after day.

Nobundon stood outside Shattrath, his dying cry tearing through the night air, and he slammed his fist desperately against the closed gate. His weakened soul knew that it was just another dream, another torture, and his numb mind doubted that this dream would still be exactly the same as the thousands of dreams of the past.

He pounded the wooden door over and over again until his fist broke and bled out, and inside the door, women and children were suffering a slow and horrific death. The screams suffocated one after another, and at last only one voice was still wailing in pain. He recognized the voice: it was the cry he heard as he fled from Shattrath and hid in the Teroka Forest.

Soon, the cry died away, and there was only a dead silence. Nobalton slowly walked away from the door. He looked down at his weak, ugly, useless body. He trembled and sobbed, waiting for the inevitable awakening.

Behind him came the creak of a wooden door slowly opening. Nobalton stared at the door with his eyes wide open. This has never happened before. What does this mean?

Behind the gate was the empty city of Shattrath, whose inner walls and fortresses were illuminated by a fire in the middle of the inner ring.

Nobalton walked into the city. It was as if something was pulling him towards the warm firelight. He looked around, but he couldn't see the bodies, except for a few abandoned weapons by the fire, the signs of the massacre had evaporated.

A soft thunderclap rolled by, and Nobalton felt a few drops of rain fall on his arm. As he continued to walk forward. The door closed behind him.

Then he heard something, a cacophony approaching him from the other end of the firelight. He had no weapons, not even his cane, and even though he knew it was just a dream, he couldn't help but be terrified. As he was about to pull a bundle of burning wood out of the fire, a Draenei woman stepped into the light.

The rain was pouring down.

At first he smiled, he was happy to see that someone had survived, but soon the smile disappeared from his face. The woman was covered in bruises, and a cut in her throat was gushing with blood. Her left hand hung limply at the side of her body. She stared blankly at him, but her actions looked ...... As if accusing. When she got closer. He recognized her as Shaka. Then more people appeared, leaning towards him from all sides, their eyes misty, and their bodies covered with terrible wounds.

The wind was stronger, the fire burned harder, and the rain fell heavier. The women bent down, picked up their weapons from the ground, and continued to approach him. Noubolton clung to a torch that had been snatched out of the fire.

I want to save you! But I can't do anything, he wants to shout, but he can't utter a syllable. His steps became sluggish and sluggish.

The wind is stronger. Blew out the torch in Nobundun's hand. The slain women drew closer, their weapons held high, and just then, a gust of wind blew out the fire. Nobalton was plunged into endless darkness.

He waited, listened...... Trying to hear them approaching in the pouring rain.

Suddenly, a cold hand gripped his wrist tightly, and Nobalton screamed......

He woke up. He felt exhausted, even more tired than when he fell asleep. Dreams come at a high price.

He decided to go out and get some fresh morning air. Maybe Colleen is awake, maybe they can talk.

He came to the place where people had gathered for breakfast. Ask a new member about Colleen's whereabouts.

"She's gone. ”

"Where? When is it?"

"Just walked away for a while. She didn't say where she was going. She looked a little strange...... She said she was going to ...... What's going on?"

The Breaker paused, thought for a moment, and nodded in remembrance.

"That's right. She said she was going to 'subliminate'. ”

Nobalton ran as fast as he could, his lungs burning as he reached the top of the hill, he coughed up some green slime, and his legs were shaking.

On the cliff mesa, he saw her, who was standing on the edge of the cliff and staring down.

"Colleen!

She glanced back, gave him a nondescript smile, and then she turned her head and fell silently forward, then disappeared into a dense cloud of steam.

Nobalton rushed to the edge of the overhanging rock and looked down, but all he could see was a halo of light emanating from the deep, deep underground.

You're too late.

He failed again, just as he failed to save the women in Shattrath. Nobundon's eyes were closed, and his heart cried out to the light: Why? Why did you abandon me? Why did you torture me like this? Is it because I am not loyal enough to you?

Still no response. The breeze blew and dried away his tears.

Maybe Colleen was right. Deep down, Nobalton knew exactly why Colleen was doing this: she didn't want to be a loser too. Maybe she made the right choice.

There is nothing left in this world for him to be nostalgic for. He only had to take a few more steps to put an end to all his troubles.

Not far away, a figure stepped out from behind the rocks jutting out behind him, ready to shout at him......

Cast out by his own people, abandoned by the Light, tormented by the souls he failed to save...... Despite this, Noborton found it difficult to end his life.

A gentle breeze suddenly kicked in, blowing away the steam and pushing Nobelton straight off the edge of the cliff. In the midst of this gale, he suddenly heard one word clearly: all things......

Nobalton listened nervously. There is no doubt that his mind has collapsed, and there is no doubt that his mind has begun to deceive him again......

The figure by the rock hid again, and continued to watch in silence. (To be continued.) )
