5. Rose Gaze Chapter 183 - Fighting the Lion and Tiger Beast
The snow-covered frozen forest is like a mysterious world.
Countless trees stood tall and pointed their branches and leaves into the sky like sharp swords, as if they were about to pierce the white clouds. The rough bark texture exudes a primitive, and the entire forest is wrapped in a thin layer of mist, as if covered with light veil.
The bitter cold wind howled by, rustling the leaves. In this cold, windy, desolate and mysterious woods, it seems that countless secrets are hidden.
Carl and Alan lead two chocobos through the woods.
They walk unhurriedly, which is the most energy-saving pace. Chocobos were carrying several iron cages on their backs, and more than a dozen demonic beasts with black cat-like bodies were gnawing fiercely at the railings inside, letting out a sharp roar.
"Shut up, little civets." Carl knocked on the iron cage, "Naturally, you will have something to eat when the time comes." β
Alan muttered from behind, "With just a few little monsters, can you assassinate the Ice Wolf King and Black Condensing Snow?" β
Carl turned around and replied earnestly, "You have to trust Mr. Dawson, his judgment and insight are far beyond ordinary people. β
The two of them trekked for a long time, and sat down at the foot of a huge tree to rest.
After feeding the chocobo a few handfuls of grain, Alan had already made a campfire, and after the two of them took out a few potatoes to roast them to make them fragrant, they munched on a light wine.
"My brother is a kid who doesn't grow up." Karl looked at the potatoes in his hand and suddenly said, "When we were children, we used to secretly bake potatoes in our mother's mage tower and eat them. β
As he spoke, he was so engrossed that he forgot to chew and swallow, just thought blankly. His thoughts seemed to return to his childhood, and his ears seemed to ring with their mischievous laughter in the mage's tower and his mother's helpless scolding.
A happy and beautiful childhood life has now disappeared.
Seeing that Karl's eyes were already about to erupt with anger, Alan reassured: "Don't worry, let's deal with that demon girl first, and then turn around and go to sweep down the gang called the Red Pavilion." β
"Good brother." Carl patted Allen's arm.
He was about to say something when he suddenly noticed that the two chocobos had raised their heads alertly and were looking around. Their paws stomped back and forth on the ground, as if they were afraid of something.
Carl and Alan stood up and looked around in silence. But the two chocobos were already trembling all over, breathing rapidly, and their eyes were staring at the two of them, as if they were eager to open their mouths for help.
"I'm afraid there's a problem." The two immediately removed their weapons from the chocobo. Carl wielded a long-handled hooked axe, and Eren held a shield in his left hand and a serpentine sword in his right.
As soon as the two of them took up their weapons, the chocobo squeezed between them, and buried its head in the snowdrift behind them with trembling legs.
Alench said: "It seems that the one who came is a big guy." β
Before Carl could reply, he heard a loud roar, and a snow-white beast instantly pounced in the forest. The beast resembles a white tiger, but it has golden eyes. Its body is tall and mighty, with sharp teeth and claws, and its tail carries sparks of thunder and lightning, casting powerful soul powers.
"Thunder Tiger Beast, what the hell." Carl muttered, "I'm afraid of anything." β
The demonic beast was in the wind, and rushed towards the two of them. The tail of thunder and lightning curled up an electromagnetic pulse that crackled in the wind.
Eren raised his serpentine sword, and he had already chanted in his mouth: "The arcane light is condensed in his hands, listening to the roar of all things in heaven and earth, and the power of rock collapse, water breaking, and shaking the sky emerges here. Arcane: Cloud Boom! β
Intense energy was released from Allen's hand, whistling towards his target. In the roar, a large tree was interrupted in an instant, and the snow on the branches and leaves fell one after another, obscuring the view.
"This thing is so fast that it doesn't seem to hit." Alan held his shield aloof and stood in front of Karl.
Carl also stared warily at the snow mist, "I'm not the girl you have a crush on, and I don't need you to protect me. β
Alan continued to observe the front, and complained in his mouth: "You are much more important than the girl, and I still expect you to reward me with a generalissimo." β
As he spoke, a pair of golden eyes had already poked out of the snow and fog ahead.
The Thunder Tiger Beast looked at the two young warriors in front of it and let out a low roar, as if it was a demonstration and a warning.
Seeing that its attention seemed to be focused on Alan, Carl secretly made a handprint, and a faint soul flame ignited on the hook axe. "If you want to play with us, then we're welcome!" Karl let out a loud shout and swung his hook axe and rushed forward.
The Thunder Tiger Beast was not afraid at all, it opened its mouth and spat out a blue-purple ball of lightning and blasted at Allen, then turned around and raised its tail and gave Carl a fierce whip!
Karl hurriedly retracted his defense and resisted the blow, but the whole person was knocked back several meters away, and the soles of his feet ploughed a deep furrow in the ground. Eren swung his shield to block the ball of thunder and lightning, and slashed at it with a swordβit was actually slashed into the air!
The speed of the monster was faster than Alan had imagined, and before he could make a move, the beast had already jumped five or six meters away, staring at the two of them with fierce eyes.
"Are you alright?" Carl asked.
Alan moved his arm and replied loudly, "How could your future general be so prone to accidents?" β
Karl chuckled, and the hook axe in his hand re-arranged: "Your official addiction is really big enough." β
As he spoke, his eyes stared at the golden pupils of the demonic beast, his feet suddenly slammed on the ground, and his body jumped up. His hands clenched the hook axe, his arms were bruised, the soul flames on his body burst into flames, and he shouted like thunder: "Beast! Die! β
As soon as the Thunder Tiger Beast wanted to react, Eren had already rushed forward, and the serpentine sword swung out thousands of blades, instantly blocking its retreat. It's extremely fast, but it doesn't make any sense without a way out.
Karl's furious blow slammed into its neck, and though it didn't cut it, it was already hooked.
Eren immediately rushed forward, wielding the serpentine sword in his hand and stabbing it into the abdomen. The Thunder Tiger Beast howled in pain and struggled to get to its feet, but Allen's blade had already sliced down its belly, opening a large hole in its belly.
Karl pulled out his axe hook and slashed at the beast's head several more times. It wasn't until the demon's blood flowed red in the snow, and its severed intestines flowed out of the hole in its abdomen one by one, that the two of them gasped and stopped.
"It should ...... Ha...... Die......" Alan breathed heavily, kicking the beast's body.
Karl tried to calm his breath and said with a smile, "Good swordsmanship, worthy of my future general." β
The two looked at each other in the snow and burst out laughing.
The two chocobos seemed to know that there was no threat, and at this moment they pulled their heads out of the snow, looked at the two young men curiously, and let out a "cooing" sound.
