Chapter 63: The Dementors Are Still Coming
Lockhart was glad he had brought Ginny and Hermione with him, and the days of protecting Harry were too boring, and he didn't blame Montungus for desertion, if it weren't for the company of two beautiful girls, one of whom was always trying to attract his attention, and he would have been bored running to the city center to have fun.
School is about to start in a few days, and Lockhart yawns in boredom, finally liberated. However, at this moment, the alarm magic in the house was suddenly triggered, and a malicious magic unit entered the area.
Lockhart jumped up and rushed downstairs, and when he saw Mrs. Figg and the two little girls also coming out of the house, Lockhart shouted to Mrs. Figg, "Look at the two girls in the house, don't let them out." β
"What? I'm going to protect Harry!" Hermione shouted in displeasure.
"Have you forgotten that you've been messing with me every time, Hermione!" Lockhart glared at her, "Hold Ginny and tell her not to go out!"
"Okay. Hermione seemed to remember something, and immediately relented, and she pulled Ginny in frustration to prevent her from rushing out.
Despite Ginny's yelling, Lockhart opened the door and walked out, turned back to cast a spell on the door of the house, and walked to the clearing where Harry was.
It was dark, the cold wind was blowing, and Lockhart had to give himself a warmth charm as he walked along the road.
The garbage in the clearing was hung up by the cold wind and flew everywhere, and Lockhart put a charm on himself to avoid the trash harassing him, and an impenetrable silence and darkness slowly descended, as if a giant hand had covered the world with a cold, heavy cloak.
Lockhart knew that he would see the Dementors for the fourth time.
The first time he saw a Dementor was when he applied to join the Aurors at the age of 18, when he was taken on a tour of Azkaban by Moody, an experience that made him determined that he would not enter Azkaban even if he died.
The second time I saw the Dementors was at Hogwarts, where the Dementors were seen guarding the campus from a distance, and then the Dementors attacked Harry and he was not present.
The third time the Dementors were seen was not long ago, when they were already enemies, and under the well-trained Aurors, the Dementors wailed and fled feebly.
This time, he wanted to protect Harry from the Dementors, and maybe Harry would protect him, Lockhart thought helplessly, trying not to make a fool of himself.
Lockhart summoned his patron saint, a fox, perhaps symbolizing his cleverness and prudence~
The mood was getting worse and worse, and he saw Harry, standing in the clearing with a few young men, and Lockhart put the Patronus away.
"Harry!"
Harry was looking at the sky helplessly and in fear, and for some reason, he heard a familiar voice calling out to him, and turned his head to see that it was his Defence Against the Dark Arts professor.
When Harry first saw Lockhart, he thought he was a man of fame, but over the past three years, Professor Lockhart had given him the impression of being knowledgeable, powerful, and friendly, and that nothing seemed to bother him about the man who could get up even after being hit by a death curse. Harry was convinced that Lockhart was the best man in the world at dealing with the dark arts, and his presence immediately stopped Harry from panicking.
"Professor, why are you here? Harry ran to Lockhart.
"I was passing by and saw what seemed to be a Dementor haunt here," Lockhart explained, "and I remembered that you lived nearby, so I came over and took a look." β
"How can there be Dementors here, what's going on. β
"Don't you read the newspaper Harry, the Dementors are wanted creatures now. β
"Ah, my uncle won't let me see it. Harry was trembling all over, goosebumps were getting on his arms, and the hair on the back of his neck stood on endβhe stared at the widest, blankly looking around, but couldn't see anything, "What to do?" Professor. β
"I'll send you home and take out my wand, it's not illegal to use magic if you encounter a Dementor. Lockhart told Harry, adding a warmth charm to him.
"Okay. Harry gripped his wand, and the Warmth Charm made him feel better.
The two men walked side by side to Harry's house, and Lockhart suddenly felt a sharp sense of malice.
"They're coming, Harry, show me what you're doing, I'll be watching you from behind. Lockhart shouted.
Several Dementors rushed straight at them, their tall, cloaked bodies bringing a gust of cold wind. Harry raised his wand and tried to tell himself that Professor Lockhart, the best man in the world at dealing with dark magic, was behind him.
"Calling God Guard!"
He succeeded, and a white stag, with a bright halo, rushed out of the tip of his wand and charged at the Dementors, who roared and were driven away by the Patronus.
"Well done, I can't even summon such a perfect Patronus. Lockhart said hard patting Harry on the back.
Harry rubbed his head in embarrassment as he watched the Patronus return to his wand.
"You should try to maintain a Patronus, powerful wizards can even rely on Patronus to communicate with each other, practice more, it won't be difficult for you. β
"Oh~" Harry nodded, "I just used magic against the rules of the Ministry of Magic, it's okay. β
"Of course it doesn't matter, I can testify for you that you are legally defending yourself. Lockhart paused, "Look, here they are." β
More than a dozen Ministry of Magic staff apparitions moved to the vicinity, some began to hunt Dementors, some scattered, and one came towards them. It seems to be preparing to erase their memories.
Lockhart waved his wand at him and watched him walk over.
"It's Mr. Lockhart!" the young amnestic officer said in surprise, "I didn't think you're here, I'm Billy Wharton, you can call me Billy." β
Lockhart nodded at them, "So, Billy, the Dementors just attacked my student Harry, Harry used magic in self-defense, and I want you to document the incident." β
"Oh, of course, the Ministry of Magic doesn't actually track down the Patronus Charm, you know, the Dementors are running around right now, but I haven't really seen a few of them get together, and it's good that you're here, otherwise Mr. Savior would be in danger. β
Lockhart, after thanking him, put his arm around Harry's shoulders and escorted him home.
