Section 15
The lightning in the depths of the clouds tore through the rainy night, and the rain curtain formed by the eaves separated the inside and outside of the tavern.
There were almost no guests in the tavern β only a drunken guest leaning against a corner wine table piled high with wine glasses and a plate of salted peas.
Mr. Fast fastened the buckle on his chest, which he never fastened, and picked up his umbrella.
"I'll go out, and the tavern will be handed over to you tonight."
"Do you need to close when there are no guests?" Evelyn asked.
Fast paused, picked up the oil lamp and walked to the door: "No, wait for me to come back." β
The door closed, and the three little ones watched the hazy resolute back pass by the window and disappear into the rain.
Just as Annan returned to the counter, the door was suddenly slammed open, and seven or eight uninvited guests with sticks and howling wind and rain poured into the tavern.
Such a coincidence?
Annan looked at the menacing figures who had broken in as soon as Mr. Fast had left.
"Where's that bastard!"
"Mr. Fast is out, and will not be back until a while." Evelyn seems to have experienced a similar scene as if she had experienced a similar scene, "You can wait for him to come back." β
"If he's not there, we'll smash the tavern!"
Bang!
The leader with the scar slashed from the bridge of his nose to the corner of his mouth slammed the wooden stick against the counter, and the loud noise made Evelyn shudder and her eyes mist.
Evelyn was only a fifteen or sixteen-year-old girl, and she was horrified by this scene. Soruman Copperbeard is not in the tavern. Martin also looked like a quail because they looked vicious, and as for the guest in the corner, he seemed to think it was a hallucination of having drunk too much.
Annan, who aspires to become a mage, can only stand up like a warrior: "Mr. Fast is an elite warrior who is eager to help others and jealous of evil. If you are in trouble, he will help you when he knows about it. If you smash his estate, you'll probably be targeted by the town and an elite warrior. β
Annan put his finger behind his back and pointed to the door, signaling for a moment to hurry up and escape first. Want to beat a bunch of villains with them?
I can only hope that Martin understands.
"Smash!"
In response to Annan, the scarred man suddenly screamed.
The thugs spread out like hyenas, smashing and destroying the tavern.
"He just left not long ago, in that direction, it's still too late for you to chase it out!"
Annan's shouts were drowned out by the cries of destruction and the shouts of the scarred man: "Smash here!" Bring these three back with you! β
The corner guest stared at the scene in amazement.
"Damn, I drank too much again......"
He couldn't help but pour a sip of wine into his mouth, and then cheered loudly: "Smash it hard!" The wine here is expensive and unpalatable! Hard! β
One of the thugs rushed at Martin, who took a few hits, which quickly turned into a mutual assault, and it didn't take long for him to gain the upper hand.
"Boss! Help! The thug, who was out of breath after being hammered, cried out for help.
"Rubbish!"
The scarred man walked towards Martin, and Annan grabbed the wheelchair to stop him, when he was suddenly grabbed from behind by a thug with a rough palm to strangle his mouth.
Annan opened his mouth and bit down hard, but the rain kept him from getting his hands dirty. The thug screamed and pushed him away, and Annan pounced forward with the thrust, grabbed the wooden chair, and smashed it on the back of the scarred man-
Syllable!
Just as the chair in the movie is always as fragile as porcelain, the wooden chair that the guest complained about several times fell apart completely, and the man with the scar stumbled into Martin.
Annan was about to take the opportunity to attack, but was held from behind by a thug.
On the other side, the scarred man and Martin who bumped into each other were close to their faces, and they even saw their eyes reflecting their own faces and the "scars" that had fallen off. Martin rubbed his eyes in a daze, and the scar man hurriedly reached out to paste the "scar" back, and just pasted a fist that quickly enlarged in front of his eyes.
"Whew-"
There was a muffled sound, and the scarred man knelt on the ground with the bridge of his beaten nose crooked, and the thug holding Annan was subconsciously stunned. Annan took the opportunity to struggle hard, and the two of them whirled around the hall as if they were dancing.
"Ah!!h
Evelyn's screams suddenly came from behind the counter. A thug was lying on the counter, reaching out and pulling Evelyn, who was huddled in front of the wine cabinet.
Annan wanted to go over to help, but was hugged to death, and Yu Guang found that Martin, who shook off the scarred man, was behind him, and hurriedly shouted: "Martin, kick!" β
Trust and tacit understanding made Martin kick the wooden table in front of him without hesitation, and let out a scream.
"Kick me!"
As the words fell, Martin buried his head and sent the thug and Annan to the counter together, folding a sandwich with the thug in front of the counter.
Evelyn from behind the counter stopped screaming and grabbed the thick bottle from the wine cabinet and smashed it into the back of the head of the thug who was lying on the counter.
Syllable!
The fainting thug slid to the floor, and Annan jerked over while the other thug was stunned, squeezing the thug behind him onto the counter.
"One more time!"
Syllable!
The second thug slid down the counter, and Annan nodded at Evelyn, whose cheeks were flushed, and looked down the hallβ
The tavern was still in disarray, surrounded by shouting thugs, and Martin climbed up and down the table.
In the shadows flickering, Annan saw the guests sitting in the corner excitedly shouting and smashing, and suddenly realized that he was the one behind the scenes.
Annan took off his apron and rushed towards the guests, and when a thug blocked him, he pointed at Martin and shouted "own people...... He's going to run away! β
When the thug turned his head, he grabbed the wine bottle on the table and smashed it, and the thug fell to the ground.
"Hey! You! Violated the knight's creed! The drunken guest pointed at Annan and shouted.
Annan learned Martin to step on the table, dodged one of the thugs who pounced, rushed to the guest, grabbed him by the collar, and restrained him.
"Stop!"
The shouts echoed, the chaotic fighting stopped, and the leaders and thugs looked at Annan at the same time.
"If you don't stop, I'll ......" Annan encountered a word he didn't know, so he had to bite the bullet and say the pun: "...... 'solve' your boss!" β
After a few seconds of silence, one of the thugs suddenly grabbed his stick in excitement and swung it vigorously at Martin.
Meanwhile.
A pair of eyes peeping into the hall from the attic moved away from the gap in the planks and decided to end the farce:
"This is the end of all temptations."
An oil lamp lit up, revealing the figures above the attic: Fast, the Grey-robed Mage, Soruman Copperbeard, and the Bard, and even the Wine Lady.
Fast was distressed by the broken wine, the broken wooden chairs, and the medical expenses that needed to be compensated...... He regretted that he shouldn't have brought his suspicions to Hirabayashi.
As for whether Annan is the new city lord of Breeze City who is missing, he doesn't bother to care. Probably not, though...... No nobleman would make himself so embarrassed, especially an ancient family with a long history. They value reputation above all else.
Next up is the appearance of the hero. Fast goes around the main entrance and beats away the thugs with the bard's evaluation of the "middle and upper" acting skills.
Unscathed, Annan and Evelyn, with a bruised and swollen Martin, stood together, smiling triumphantly.
This was Annan's first battle in another world.
It's not pretty, but it wins.
As for Fast, what they have gained is a bunch of lost wine that needs to be repaired and replaced.
And that guest probably won't come to the tavern again.
