Section 72. Fame
"A hundred years ago in the Duchy of Keating, there was a knight who sought to seize the position of minister. It became a sensational scandal at the time when his powerful rival suddenly kissed Mr. Fia, then the mayor of the capital, during a public speech, and the knight attacked the rival for being corrupted by chaos and immersed in the illusion of pleasure. In this case, he almost became a minister. β
Twin Chancellor Frankin tells the story of his hometown:
Then I asked him, how do you know? Perhaps it was Chaos that had hollowed out Jazz's brain, and he explained in great detail the symptoms of being corrupted by Chaos. β
"At my suggestion, the Grand Duke asked the poor fellow who had lost the opportunity to check it out, and found that he had only drunk an excessive amount of absinthe and was dominated by hallucinations. The one who was really corrupted by Chaos was the one who spoke out the symptoms of Chaos in detail. β
Frankin spread his palms:
"When a politician wants to frame another politician, he usually picks one of the things he has done and frames him."
So having an Assassin as a bodyguard sounds strange, but it's actually a perfect fit - because only an Assassin knows how to assassinate a person -
This reminded Annan of a similar situation on Earth, where the princes were buried in the tombs by looking for feng shui treasures, and the tomb robbers found the tombs of the princes by looking for feng shui treasures-
Lady Wine, who accompanied Annan on his visit to Flamening, also said: "It's a tradition to make an Assassin a guardian, is it possible to count on a guardian mage?" β
The slender Flamening, who stood straight, let out a hearty laugh, and the teasing of the wine lady came from an allusion.
There was a joke in the royal capital of Rikaner: an elite mage was tasked with protecting a nobleman, and because of the handsome reward for the commission, the mage used many methods, such as 24-hour shielding, iron armor, and even advanced malicious detection that only epic spellcasters can perform, but in the end the person she wanted to protect died in the bathtub.
Later, the nobleman's family members investigated, and found that the truth was simple - the nobleman's alcohol that day was added to a beneficial potion that made people "excited", avoiding the detection of high malice. And then when the blood-pumping aristocrat routinely soaked in the hot springs every night, his head couldn't support the pressure......
After a relatively pleasant morning, Annan and the wine lady prepared to leave the official residence where Flamening was staying.
"I'm the first stop, right? What's the second stop? β
As one of the two ministers of the duchy after the Grand Duke, Frankin easily saw Annan's intentions.
The more people know about Annan, the safer Annan will be in Breeze City. For the sake of 50 spinning machines, he doesn't mind this small use.
"Haven't thought about it yet, do you have any suggestions?" Annan is good at showing kindness from others, and makes some unoverly demanding requests based on this kindness.
Flamening did give a piece of advice: "The famous repertory troupe Swan Dance, which toured in Ricanal, had been in Breezy a few days ago, so the theater was overcrowded these days. β
"Thank you for your help."
"It's nothing, after all, Jonah's kid was very likable when he was a kid......"
Annan guessed that the "Jonah" he was talking about was an ancestor of the Reeves family.
Coming out of the mansion and getting into the carriage, Annan asked the lady who was sitting opposite, with her slender legs folded, "Your Excellency Flamening seems to be very old?" β
"The Duchy of Keating borders the Sunset Mountains, where elves have long coexisted with humans before the world strife began thousands of years ago. So Lord Flamening has some elven blood. β
"So he's over a hundred years old now?"
"I just celebrated my 350th birthday a while ago." Lady Wine's gaze returned to Annan from the official residence passing by the window, "So where do you want to go?" β
"Let's go to the theater first." Annan said.
The wine lady's languid chuckle was tinged with a hint of hoarseness: "Looks like our sweetheart has already figured out where to go when she comes out of the theater." β
The carriage bearing the Wincht family crest drove to the theater, and Annan did think about where to go nextβthe library.
This may offend Mr. Victor, but the library in Breeze City is not comparable to the kind of "bookstore" in Hirabayashi, and the people who go to the library are not ordinary people.
It's just that visitors who want to be quieter may not be too welcoming to Annan.
In front of the Benitez Theatre, the proprietor, who had been notified in advance, warmly welcomed Annan with a strange ritual: "Your presence has made the Benitez Theatre shine. β
"You must be the first time here, right? Guaranteed not to disappoint. β
"Actually, I was here the other day." Annan said honestly.
The boss asked in surprise when, Annan thought for a moment: "Just five or six days ago." β
"Did you see the Swan Dance Troupe perform?"
"No ......"
Because at that time, I was at the theater to take out food to the people in line.
The owner of the theater said that it was time to invite Annan into the theater and sit in the VIP seats to watch the Swan Dance Troupe's performance.
The red curtain slowly opened, and Annan was amazed by the graceful dancing and the flexible posture that no dancer on earth could never do. Then after the performance, Annan went backstage to get up close and personal with the Swan Dance Company.
If there were newspapers in this world, tomorrow's newspapers would be published: the King of the North received the Swan Dance Company at the Benitez Theater.
Newspaper......
So Annan ignored the excited and expectant swan girls because of his thoughts.
"Do you believe that boss?"
Annan, who sat in the carriage, came back to his senses and found that the mood of the wine lady had changed somewhat.
"What?"
The wine lady said that the proprietor's etiquette when welcoming Annan was an ancient etiquette hundreds of years ago. This side shows two things: this boss is well aware of the etiquette of the ancient family, and it is likely that there is a certain family behind him.
Or remind the Annan Theater of its extraordinary origins and don't want to take advantage of them.
Annan's head was full of the beautiful dances of the Swan Dance and the newspapers, and he didn't pay any attention to what the wine lady saidβeven if he did, he couldn't understand it.
Then go to the library, and the wine lady prepares to leave.
"Aren't you with me?"
"It's a pleasure to be with you, but I have important things to do." Lady Wine stepped into the carriage to pick her up and waved to Annan, "Deella will protect you, sweetheart." β
In the quiet carriage, Annan's eyes fell on Dela.
The elven guard was silent, like the shadow of Annan.
The next plan went awry β it was the library's closing day. It was also close to evening when Annan drove back to the manor.
After dinner, Annan returned to the bedroom and asked Deira curiously, "Do you need to rest?" β
"I'm next door."
After Deira left, Annan set up a meditation ritual and began to meditate tonight.
In the adjacent bedroom, separated by a wall, Deira had stripped off her elven leather armor, and her bald tail wrapped around her slender waist was instantly covered by the bed.
