Section 81

Knock Knock Knock –

A knock on the door interrupts the atmosphere in the bedroom.

"Who's out there?"

Deira fell softly back to the ground, and a slightly cool Annan put on her mage robe and opened the door.

The maid Abby stood outside the door with a dinner plate: "The maid head asked me to bring you dinner." ”

Remembering that he hadn't eaten yet, Annan moved out of the way and watched the maid Abby put down the plate and turn away, closing the door gently.

Deella lifts the plate and creates a slice of baked bread and mushroom soup. She broke open the bread and tasted the soup again, and there was no problem.

"Thank you."

Annan did not invite Deira to dinner, remembering that the elves refused artificial food and only ate natural fruits or honey and maple syrup.

"So you know about that Olmedo?" Annan asked Deira as she ate.

"He is the heir to the Olmedo family."

Deira doesn't know much.

After dinner, Annan placed the spider bottle under the darkened bed, climbed into the bed in a mage robe, and found Dela's still there.

"Aren't you going back?"

"Elves don't need much sleep, if you can't sleep......"

As soon as Deella spoke a little more than ever, she melted into the shadows of the corner.

Thinking that Deira was in some shadow, Annan quietly pulled up the quilt, revealing only a pair of eyes like the night.

……

Annan slowly woke up on the soft bed, his worried eyes gradually regaining focus, and saw Deella sitting in the corner, reading the book he had brought from the attic.

"Good morning."

Annan sat up, the slippery quilt bringing the coolness of the morning.

Deira glanced at Annan and returned to the book.

"Good morning."

The book that was in the hands of the elves was called "Night City", and Annan hadn't had time to read it yet.

Pushing open the patio door, the cool breeze blowing through the treetops dissipated Annan's sleepiness.

It's August, the hottest time of the whole summer, but the cold snap from the snow-capped mountains in the north to the south actually makes the nose reddish in the morning.

As Annan closed the patio door, the wind-lifted curtains fell.

Last night's mushroom soup failed to fill Annan's stomach, and soon Annan, who was hungry, and Dela, who was holding a book, came to the restaurant.

The hands of the grandfather clock in the corner reminded Annan that there were fifteen days left before the countdown to the apocalypse forecast.

Annam's breakfast consisted of a vegetable salad and a chestnut broth, and Deira was a serving of fruit. When Deira was trying the dishes, Annan asked Abby, "Do you know the lord of the city, Olmedo?" ”

Abby, who was about to go out, stopped and replied to Annan's words, "Lord Castle is deeply loved by the common people, and he will lead Breeze City to a brighter future." ”

Annan Reeves, the young king of the North and the future lord of Breeze, was attacked and usurped the throne with a wink.

The maid Abby of course knew who was in front of her, but she still insisted: "Young Master Annan, the city lord has given us hope to stay away from war and poverty. ”

"Why? Did he do anything? Annan asked curiously.

At first, Annan thought it was just a boast, or a common trick among politicians: that he would never realize the grand vision he had proclaimed before taking office. But Abby recounts the changes in Breezy City during the two months that Olmedo became the lord of the city: first, he continued to deliver supplies to support the fortress defense line at the top of the snowy mountain, then he promoted scavengers, cleaned the city of rats, issued decrees requiring nobles to strictly obey the law, and donated orphanages to support homeless children.

Abby and her brother survived and were taken in by the Wine Lady.

As a vested beneficiary of the city lord's policies, Abby is rightfully responsible for defending Olmedo.

Annan guessed that Abby was worried that retaking the city lord would make these gains and losses, so he had this attitude?

"Are you going out today?" Abby asked.

"Hmm."

"I'll go get the carriage ready."

As Abby leaves the restaurant, Annan asks Dela, "Is what she said true?" ”

"I don't know." The cloaked elf observed Annan: "If yes, what would you do?" ”

"Then it's okay to give it to him."

As the king of the north, who was attacked and usurped as the lord of the city, he should hate Olmedo, no matter how good he did - but Annan was not, he knew he was an impostor. Augusta Olmedo also knew.

Annan only wanted to avoid this catastrophe and take advantage of the opportunity to strengthen himself.

But Deira didn't know. So in her eyes, Annan is shining with the brilliance of humanity at the moment.

After breakfast, Annan took an apple from Deira and got into the carriage.

"Let's go to Francois first."

The carriage drove out of the manor and headed south along the wide, bustling street, turning into a narrow lane as it was about to leave the city. The surroundings gradually became desolate. Although not the dilapidated shacks of the slums, the inconsistent brick walls and eaves patches mean that the horse-drawn carriage has entered a civilian area.

It is here that Francois's baronial mansion sits, and it seems to provide a glimpse of the baron's predicament.

The baron warmly welcomed Annan's arrival and gladly accepted to work for the king of the north, and invited him to admire his collection.

According to his flattering words, it was an honor for him to be the dog of the King of the North.

The last time Annan saw the collection room was Catarina's trophy, so he declined the invitation of Francois, who also had a special hobby, and explained his intention:

"Do you know Olmedo?"

"The usurper? He's a shameful thief, a filthy pig, a sinister rat......"

"Throw away the personal contradictions and the compliments that compliment me."

Although Annan would have liked to hear Francois's interesting comparisons.

Then Francois had no choice but to say that Jeffrey Olmedo was a charismatic young man.

"Of course, he's definitely inferior to you."

He did a lot of things that benefited Breeze.

"However, you have definitely done better than him when you took office!"

The Olmedo family and the old aristocracy were his supporters.

"It's just that they will never be able to compare to the Twelve Kings of the North!"

In the midst of this half-boast and half-truth, Francois's manservant said that a man who called himself the Tavern Morrowind had come to deliver a letter to Annan.

It was indeed a fellow at Morrowind's Tavern, and Deira checked the letter and handed it to Annan.

Correspondence ...... Edithia Reeves.

Annan's "eldest sister".

The first half of the letter, like the previous one, persuades Levi to return, but if Levi wants to stay, let him go to the Lawrences for help.

Annan frowned and took out another letter.

They were in similar handwriting, and at least Annan couldn't make out the difference......

"What's the matter, Your Excellency Annan?"

"I received two letters, one that could be fake and the other ...... It could also be fake. ”

"Can you tell me what is written on it, maybe I can help you analyze it......"

Annan's response was to deliver the letter directly to Francois.

Francois's handsome cheeks flushed with this trust, and he took the letter with trembling hands, and stood up excitedly after reading it word by word:

"Your Excellency, Lord of the North, the answer lies in this letter!"
