Section 15
Annan and Lemon picked some wild flowers around and placed them in front of the crooked tombstone.
Raising his head, he found that Lemon's body was still stained with some blood, and said helplessly: "Don't stuff everything into your body, this is not good, spit it out." β
Annan continued to set off with lemons. It seems that he has done a good deed, or has lemons to accompany him, his steps are much lighter, and the environment of the forest can hardly affect his psychology.
Dusk is approaching, and the clouds on the horizon turn the forest in Princess Crimson's favorite color.
The forest was getting darker, and if only the fire elemental could still travel at nightβand then it occurred to Annan that if the fire elemental would get a burning forest on its own.
He had to find a place to live before dark.
Annan remembered that Dade had said that the hollows of some large trees were natural shelters. He asked the water elemental to climb to the canopy, find the largest tree, and head.
Before the darkness blurred their vision, Annan and Lemon went to the shelter they were looking for, a banyan tree nearly two meters in diameter. The unique aerial roots hang naturally along the trunk and branches, like a female ghost with a drooping head, and the torso is hollowed out into a dark abdominal cavity.
Lemon went around close to the banyan tree and it was very clean here.
Annan confidently burrowed into the hollow of the tree, which was quite spacious, barely squeezing himself and the water element, without any smell or feces.
The last of the afterglow was about to disappear on the horizon, and Annan retreated into the hollow of the tree, allowing the lemon to block the hole.
It's wild and you can't find anything to eat, but it doesn't matter, Annan until how to make use of everything around.
"I'm thirsty."
Lemon thoughtfully brought a ball of water to Annan's mouth.
Then Annan opened the portal, and it was Ingrid who stayed by the portal today. He first took out a magic lamp, and then asked the kitchen of the City Lord's Mansion to prepare a simple roast meat, vegetable platter, roasted matsutake mushrooms, and creamy pine nut soup.
"Do you need a bed?"
"I can't fit it here, but get me a blanket."
Ingrid fetched the blanket, and Annan spread it in the hollow of the tree, continuing to think about what else she needed for wild camping.
The feces of beasts. Annan remembered that dragon dung would scare all beasts and most magical creatures, and the three small dragon dung was probably not good, but Elimoas's should be ...... Never mind.
Annan did not want to tarnish the beautiful image of Elimayas in his heart.
"AnnanAnnan~"
A familiar tremble sounded, and Annan saw Lily appear around the corner, leap into the portal, and crawl onto Annan's lap with her tail up and down.
"Silly cats and spiders aren't in trouble, are they?" Annan scratched Lily's upturned head.
"They always fight, and it's the cats who tell them not to fight."
"Kwakwa Lily." Annan patted it, picked up Lily and handed it to the portal, "I'm in some danger here, let Lily stay in Liberty City." β
"Danger? Are you going to send the Guards to help you? β
"I'm just here to find someone, not to start a war......"
Annan refused without thinking about it, what kind of adventure story is it to take a group of soldiers.
After dinner, Annan turned the magic lamp to the darkest light, looked out into the dark forest for a while, sat down on the blanket and began to meditate.
Lemon squatted at the entrance of the tree hole and kept vigil for Annan.
The cold, pale moonlight shone over the forest, creating a dappled contrast to the sun. In the midst of this, some faint sights appeared in the shadows of the moonlight, and crept close to the faintly lit tree holes......
At this moment, an ominous shadow spread from a distance. Everywhere they passed, they were like frightened beasts, fleeing one after another.
The shadows stretched out in the moonlight, forming a black Ouroboros ring around the banyan tree......
In the hollow of the banyan tree, hiding behind the lemon, Annan, who was holding the amulet, thought to himself that you had escaped and continued to meditate.
β¦β¦
In the early morning, Annan woke up into the warm tree hole, stretched his body, and just happened to meet a squirrel squatting on a tree branch.
Its fluff hung with dew, and it seemed to have been here all night.
"Give it back to you, and we'll go."
Annan left the blanket for the squirrel as an overnight stay, and asked Lemon to carry the crystal skull and the magic lamp himself, and continued on his way.
It was a wise decision for him not to leave the magic lamp in the hollow of the tree...... Before noon, the sky was overcast, and the forest was dim like evening, and as we continued to advance, the shape of the surrounding trees changed.
The greenery fades, the plants no longer grow, and the dead trees stretch out their twisted branches, like unwilling dead people.
The only sound in this dead forest was the sound of Annan's footsteps, so much so that Annan felt kind when he saw a cemetery bubbling with the breath of the dead.
As soon as Annan and Lemon approached, the stone doors of the cemetery opened as if on both sides, revealing a deep staircase.
"I am ......"
"Vickery asked you to come?" There was a thick echo from the cemetery.
"If you're talking about 'Vickery' that's the assistant."
"You don't know it?"
"I'm a Blood Emissary, and I've come to deliver a message to you, and it's entrusted me to come here to find you."
"How can it get a messenger to come to me?" The voice asked itself, "But it's true that humans are easier to come by than they are." β
Annan knew.
The skeleton assistant is not a crimson princess who likes to watch love, how can she believe in herself when she sees herself.
"Come in, they'll find you outside when you stay outside."
"They?"
"I'm sure you've seen some weirdness here......"
Annan thought of the wooden house in the woods, thought of the peep last night, and then looked back...... I don't know if it's an illusion, but that sense of prying has resurfaced.
Annan and Lemon walked into the cemetery, and the stone door closed back as they entered.
After raising the magic lamp through a long passage, Annan saw the Duke of Skeletons:
Its skeleton was tall and majestic, and it wore a magnificent noble dress encrusted with gold thread gemstones, as if it were a nobleman from an ancient kingdom. The blue soul fire burned in its eye sockets, making Annan feel a kind of wisdom temperament.
It stood in front of an unfinished magic circle holding the materials used to draw it, and a well-informed mage would recognize how it was activated, its properties, and its use.
"How did you meet Vickery?"
"I passed three tests and entered the Necropolis"
"Oh?"
The Skeleton Duke continued to draw the magic array, and asked without raising his head, "How did you answer?" β
"The first question I answer 'The Book of Rites of the Tatunn Empire, the History of the Independence of the Duchy of Montabullloc, The Book of Wisdom of the Kingdom of Recan'"
"You're from Middle-earth?"
"Worthy of the learned Duke of Skeletons."
"What about the remaining two?"
"The second one I replied 'something that has four legs in the morning, two legs at noon, and three legs in the evening is something that has four legs in the morning, two legs at noon, and three legs in the evening'. The third I replied 'Yes'. β
The Skeleton Duke raised his head, and his soul fire brightened.
"A Human Warlock ......"
