104. Preliminary Study
Planet 373 Sigma, now.
Outside the shuttle, towering trees stand quietly in place, the galaxy's dim sunlight casting shade on the trees.
The bright red figures of the cathars shuttled through the green forest, and the arc rifles gradually drowned in this sea of green as the cathars walked.
Inside the shuttle, the sound of electric current, which represents pleasure, crackles.
"Ahh Praise be to the Ohm Messiah! ”
Hades watched helplessly as Kirkland's sage walked around, robes and blackstone pendants swaying as he walked, electricity hissing, and words like mechanical prayers pouring out of Kirkland's sage's pronunciation.
Kim, who called Hades over, shrank his head and hid behind Hades timidly to prevent the Kirkland Sage from noticing him.
King, of course, doesn't have much affection for a crazy former owner.
When Kirkland finally said something like "Ohm Messiah help me" and "I'll give you one of the gods of all machines", the sage finally calmed down, and the cooling system increased its power to work, while Kirkland looked at Hades again.
"It's unbelievable, according to the preliminary survey of the drone swarm, on the opposite side of the forest, in the center of the largest human city on the planet, there used to be a fairly strong anti-psychic field."
Hades nimbly grasped the key words,
"Wait, ever?"
The light on the sage's face lit up for a moment, and then explained further to Hades,
"Yes, we don't observe the anti-psionic field right now."
"It's likely that the humans who used to live here destroyed the device."
The sage muttered discontentedly, and the electronic sound became harsher.
But that was enough, and before that, Kirkland had never really found a device that could stably generate a strong anti-psionic field.
Compared to the excited mechanical sage, Hades was lost in thought.
The blackstone obelisk built in the center of a human city is strange to think about.
"Sage, can you show me the image from the drone?"
"Please."
Hades instantly received the Kirkland Sage's packet, and after entering the key, Hades began to check the screen.
Houses resembling medieval architecture appear in the frame, the streets are covered with dust, and some buildings have collapsed due to age.
A huge square was in the middle of the city, with a floor of black stone outlined in bright green lines, but now dimmed by dust.
In the middle, the black obelisk that was several people wide stood indifferently, overlooking all living beings.
But the original straight lines of the obelisk were destroyed, and some of the pits broke the smoothness, revealing the layout inside.
Other arc-shaped dark walls surround the obelisk, carved with prayers and elaborate patterns.
Directly in front of the square is a one-man podium that resembles a bulletin stand.
No. Wrong.
Hades frowned unconsciously.
Even though the style and building materials are similar, they are not together.
What the hell is going on?
Hades pondered that the image from the drone of the obelisk in the center was still too blurry, which prevented Hades from sinking his mind further.
"I'll have to go and see it."
Hades finally said.
In the dense but silent forest, a team of people and horses is moving.
Hades was in the middle of the team, dressed in the MK3 Transformation Power Armor, a low-key bone white and moss green intertwined, and on the heavy shoulder armor, on one side was a six-thorn skull representing the Fourteenth Legion, and on the other side was a gear ring skull symbolizing the Martian Mechanic.
Hades revamped the MK3 Power Armor to make it more defensive, and although it came at the cost of getting heavier armor, it was a piece of cake for Hades.
Behind him, the technical sergeant's most iconic power backpack, a skeleton sticking out of Hades' left shoulder armor, red and black cables intertwined, this is the omniscient scanner.
The slender spray gun folded over the right side of the backpack, and the waiting arm was quietly folded on Hades' back, where there was a phlogist torch, a plasma cutter, and a blast gun.
Hades was armed with a blaster and followed one of the cathar vanguards.
The branches of the trees had been hastily cut and broken by the cathars, and the grass had been crushed, and they were now walking on the forest path that the cathars had opened earlier.
"It's almost time for the first marker, my lord."
The cathar in front of Hades said,
"Hmm."
Hades replied hastily, pulled a hand from Kim, who had fallen behind him, and continued to move forward.
"I hate this muddy ground."
Kim complained, which made his gear hard.
Hades smiled, and as far as he could see, a towering bell tower stood out among the trees, and artificially carved vines were wrapping around the outer wall of the bell tower.
They walked for a while.
The trees are thinning, the sun is abundant, the beige buildings are in plain sight, and in the open space is a sizable village, where several cathars are stationed to continue their exploration.
"Lord Hades, after our preliminary judgment, this should be a village for agricultural production and education."
The cathar leader in front of him was dutifully telling Hades about the results of their previous explorations.
"At this time, Cathar Team 785 has not found any connection to the Blackstone device you are interested in here."
"The previous sages have already acquired some technology related to agricultural machinery here, but there is a high probability that there is no other useful technology here."
Hades blinked, agriculture and education were one, he really hadn't seen it, which made him a little interested.
Just as the exploration team was about to take a break here, Hades took advantage of the rest to wander around.
Kim had gone to dry the moisture in his cable, and Kirkland Sage was not on the team, and the cautious Sage would not have left until he had all his life-saving devices in order.
The cathars were always in Hades' sights, so Hades walked around quite reassuringly.
The main part of the village is made up of low-slung white bungalows, most of which are used for residential use.
It looks like it's just a big village.
However, things changed when Hades walked to the other end of the village.
The sound of rustling sounded.
Hades raised his gun and leaned forward—
Some small moving machines are busily shuttling between the bungalows, mostly fruit-like things?
The strangely shaped carts of food emerged from the forest and departed tirelessly in the other direction.
The cathars who had been sent in earlier turned a blind eye to this and continued their search.
"It's . What? ”
Hades looked at the small convoy of food in front of him, puzzled.
