Chapter 53: The House of Requests (Seeking Reading)
It took a lot of time for Love and Faulcie to clean up the crime scene, so by the time they left, the other students had basically finished evacuating, and the entire castle was empty.
In order not to be caught, Love could only speed up his pace, and even took advantage of several secret passages that he had discovered before, taking shortcuts along the way, and finally arrived at the Gryffindor Tower without danger.
When he opened the door to the common room, Love found it crowded with people, talking noisily about what had just happened and eating food delivered to the common room, only Hermione was standing by the door with an anxious look on her face.
"Where the hell have you been? Why did you go back to the lounge so late? If you don't come back, I'll go to Percy - what does this smell like on you? When Love got in, Hermione threw a bunch of questions at her machine gun.
"There's a little accident, Hermione, you let me go, I'm going to take a shower." Love responded to Hermione's words, and then walked briskly to the bathroom to take a shower.
"You ......" Hermione tried to stop her, but Love slipped away so fast that she ran to the boys' dormitory in the blink of an eye, and she could only stomp her foot and find a table facing the exit of the men's dormitory and sit down to sulk.
"So what the hell is going on?"
After Love had showered, changed his clothes, and picked up a new meal, Hermione appeared in front of him again and asked him where he had just gone.
"If you're not sure how dangerous trolls are, I'd suggest you open Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Themβ" Hermione said angrily, she was genuinely worried.
"I know." Love raised his hand and interrupted Hermione.
"I'll tell you something, and you must not tell anyone." He looked left and right, lowering his voice.
Hermione frowned, "Can't you tell anyone, Professor McGonagall?" If it's a violation of school rules, I can't guarantee it. β
"Then I won't talk about it." Love broke open a piece of hard bread and soaked it in the curry.
Hermione:......
She was silent for a moment, but curiosity finally prevailed over the reason, and she assured Love that she would never divulge his secrets, even if he violated them.
"If you break your oath, you'll never fail, and you'll always find yourself forgetting an assignment in class."
Hermione twitched cheekily: So ruthless?
It can be seen that Love's resolute attitude can only reluctantly swear.
"You go get something to eat first, the story to be told tonight is long." Love motioned for Hermione to eat first, and they could talk while eating.
When Hermione retrieved a small plate of food, his first words nearly caused her to knock over the plate.
"I worked with Faxxie to kill the troll that broke into the school."
Hermione:!!!
"Are you crazy?!" She was incredulous at the madness of the two, and she couldn't understand why the two would risk being eaten to hunt the trolls. And looking at Love's appearance, these two actually succeeded? How do they do it?
"It's not crazy, Foxie just needs some troll body parts for experiments." Love continued to output words that left Hermione dumbfounded, "Seriously, trolls are pretty easy to hunt, we didn't bother - the trick is to aim for the head." β
Hermione:......
She kind of regretted the vows she had made.
While the students enjoyed a Halloween meal in the lounge, the professors patrolled the castle in search of trolls.
As a Defence Against the Dark Arts professor, Quirrell naturally had to patrol, even if he had been stunned by the trolls before. At this time, he sneakily came to the corridor on the right side of the fourth floor, and looked at his expression, not knowing what he was thinking in his heart.
He walked all the way to the locked door, and in the face of the locked door, he drew his wandβ
"Trolls don't pick locks." A greasy, cold voice rang out behind Quirrell, making him shudder and nearly drop his wand to the ground.
"S, Professor Snape......" Quirrell turned back tremblingly, his tone stammering more than usual. At this time, he didn't look like a full-fledged Hogwarts professor, but like a first-year freshman stepping into a Potions classroom.
Snape's eyes were filled with chills, and his wand was already pointed at Quirrell, looking ready to give him a devastating spell at any moment.
"yes, yes, how can a troll pick the lock, so I'm, I'm not, I'm not going to go in." Quirrell racked his brains to defend himself, but to little avail, and Snape didn't believe what he said.
"Explain these words to Dumbledore."
Hearing Dumbledore's name, Quirrell lowered his eyes, not knowing what he was thinking.
"So, can we go find the trolls?" After a short while, he finally cleared his mind and calmed down.
"Of course." Snape replied coldly, his wand not lowered. It wasn't until he and Quirrell made it all the way to the stairs that he withdrew his wand under his sleeve.
In the second-floor library, they met Professor McGonagall with a panicked look, and from her, Snape and Quirrell learned that the other professors had not found the troll that had broken into the castle.
"Strange, where can that stupid stupid big guy go?" Snape said this, but his eyes involuntarily looked at Quirrell. Quirrell snorted and stammered that he didn't know, so why don't you try your luck in the underground classroom?
The professors had almost turned the castle inside out tonight, but they couldn't find the invading troll. In order to find the troll, they used all their might, even having Hagrid enter the castle with his hound's fangs to search for traces of the troll, but all efforts were in vain, and the troll seemed to have left the castle. No one doubted Professor Quirrell, as they had seen the footprints of trolls in the area of the underground classroom, which confirmed Quirrell's words.
Eventually, they were left with a large area of the dungeon sealed off to students.
The next morning, it was as if everything had passed, and the troll invasion had become a campus myth that would be passed down from generation to generation by word of mouth by the students.
Love, on the other hand, went to the library after lunch and met Fawkesi around the corner.
"I'll take you somewhere where we can dispose of the corpses of the trolls." After the meeting, there was no pleasantries, and Foxie went straight to the point, pulling Love all the way to the eighth floor of the castle.
"It's a spot I stumbled upon, and it's a great place to hide things β and of course, it's more than just hiding things." She led Love to a tapestry.
Love couldn't help but see what was painted on the tapestry: a troll was painted on it.
"It's really timely." Love couldn't help but complain.
