Chapter Eighty-Eight: Mythology
Somehow this matter was known to Xiao Meng, and he was bent on getting Hou Yi's elixir. In the early morning of August 15, Hou Yi wanted to take his disciples out, but Xiao Meng pretended to be sick and stayed. At night, with a sword in his hand, he couldn't wait to break into Hou Yi's house and coerce Chang'e to hand over the elixir. Chang'e thought to herself, wouldn't letting such a person eat the elixir of life hurt more people. So, she wittily dealt with Xiaomeng. Seeing that Chang'e refused to hand over the elixir, Xiaomeng rummaged through the boxes and cabinets and searched everywhere. Seeing that she was about to find the treasure box, Chang'e hurried forward, took out the immortal medicine, and swallowed it in one gulp.
Chang'e took the elixir and suddenly flew up. She flew out of the window and over the silver-glowing countryside, flying higher and higher. There was a bright moon hanging in the blue night sky, and Chang'e kept flying towards the moon.
Hou Yi went out and came back, but he didn't see his wife Chang'e. He anxiously rushed out of the door, only to see the bright moon in the sky, the shadow of the tree on the round moon, and a jade rabbit jumping around under the tree. Ah, my wife is standing beside a laurel tree and gazing at her affectionately. "Chang'e, Chang'e" Hou Yi called out repeatedly, desperately chasing towards the moon. But when he chased three steps forward, the moon took three steps back, and could not catch up.
Everyone has long been familiar with the above two myths and legends, and what Liu Fugui discovered is the secret hidden behind this myth!
Chang'e went to the moon and went to the Moon Palace, also known as the Toad Palace, which was incarnated by a toad.
And this toad is the immortal at the top of Kunlun - the three-legged golden toad!
Three-legged golden toad, in ancient Chinese myths and legends, the Moon Palace has a three-legged toad, and later generations also called the Moon Palace the Toad Palace.
Taoist three-legged golden toad: The three-legged toad is called "toad", and legend has it that it can spit out money and is a prosperous thing. In ancient times, there were bangs to cultivate, with a trick to subdue the golden toad to become an immortal, and later the Chinese folk spread the legend of "bangs play the golden toad, step by step to catch money". Interpretation: "Lu Dongbin's disciple Liu Hai has profound skills, likes to travel around the world, subdue demons and subdue demons, and give alms for the benefit of the world." One day, he subdued the golden toad goblin who had been endangering the people for many years, and in the process, the golden toad was injured and broke one of his feet, so there were only three feet left in the future. Since then, Jin Toad has surrendered to Liu Hai's door, and in order to atone for his sins, Jin Toad has used his unique skills to bite into the gold and silver treasures, helping Liu Hai to benefit the world, helping the poor, and distributing money. People are curious and call it the beckoning toad. ”
This three-legged golden toad is not far away in folk legends, because this three-legged golden toad is actually one, after the top of Kunlun feathered, it turned into a toad palace, and then the three-legged golden toad is just the aura left by the golden cicada, and some spiritual things.
Kunlun Mountain, also known as Kunlun Xu, Kunlun Hill or Jade Mountain. In Chinese Taoist culture, Kunlun Mountain is known as the "ancestor of all mountains", which is a sacred mountain in ancient Chinese mythology, and Taoism is regarded as a fairy mountain where the gods live.
The Kunlun Mountains are mentioned more than once in the ancient Chinese geographical works "The Classic of Mountains and Seas", "Yu Gong" and "Notes on the Book of Water", and most of the descriptions are magical. For example, it is said to be the "lower capital of the Emperor of Heaven", with a radius of 800 miles and a height of 70,000 feet. He also said that there is the Yao Pond of the Queen Mother of the West, and there are fairy trees with pearls and beautiful jade growing everywhere. The title of "Queen Mother of the West" was first seen in the "Classic of Mountains and Seas", and it was called the Queen Mother of the West because of the Kunlun Hill where she lived. "The Classic of Mountains and Seas: The Great Wilderness of the West": "The Hill of Kunlun at the Cave of the Queen Mother of the West". For thousands of years, there have been many beautiful legends and incomprehensible mysteries about Kunlun Mountain, attracting Taoist disciples and tourists at home and abroad to worship, practice, climb and investigate.
Legend has it that in ancient times, this was the birthplace of the Kunlun sect of Taoism. Ancient mythology believes that the goddess West Queen Mother who lives in Kunlun Mountain, with a human head and a leopard body, is served by two blue birds, is the god of Taoism, and has a very high status in Taoism. The image of the Queen Mother of the West in the "Classic of Mountains and Seas" is: "Its shape is like a person, with a leopard's tail and tiger teeth and a good roar, and a hoopoe with fluffy hair." ”
"Xuanzhong Ji": "In the east of Penglai, on the mountain of Daiyu, there is a tree of Fusang, and the tree is ten thousand feet high. There is a pheasant on the top of the tree, which is the nest on it. Every night solstice, the rooster crows, and the sun bird responds to it in the middle of the day; When the birds sing, the chickens in the world are singing. "Chinese folklore says that this bird is the essence of the sun, and it lives in the middle of the day. In the Han Dynasty, there were often three-legged blacks on the portrait bricks, which lived next to the West Queen Mother's seat, and were the birds that fed for them, or the three blue birds.
"The Cave of the Dead" Volume 4: "(Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty) said: 'What I like is not old, can I get it?' Shuo said: "There is grass in the northeast, and spring grass in the southwest." The emperor said, 'How do you know?' Shuo said: "The three-legged black number eats this grass on the ground, Xi and want to control, cover the bird's eyes with his hands, and do not listen to it." Herbivorous can not be old, and other birds and beasts eat this grass and are bored and unable to move. "Art and Literature Gathering" volume 100 quotes "The Yellow Emperor Zhanshu": "The three-legged black man in Japan and China is in the dry land." The cause is to the day.
"River Atlas Map": "Kunlun is in the water, and it cannot be reached unless you take a dragon." There is a three-legged sacred bird, which feeds for the Queen Mother of the West. ”
Wang Chong of the Han Dynasty "On Heng and Saying the Sun": "There are three-legged blacks in the day, rabbits and toads in the moon. ”
"Huainanzi Spiritual Training" "There are hesitants in the day. Henkel lured the note: "Kick, squat." It is called a three-legged black. ”
"Spring and Autumn Yuan Lifebud": "There are three-legged black in the day. Therefore the sun is also called the three-legged black or golden black. The Queen Mother of the West has a three-legged black, which is a green black for the Queen Mother of the West.
"Historical Records: Sima Xiangru Biography": "[The Queen Mother of the West] hoopoe and acupuncture points are also fortunate to have a three-legged black for it. ”
Zhang Shoujie justice led Zhang Yi to say: "Three-legged black, blue bird also, the Lord takes food for the Queen Mother of the West." Later, it was also borrowed from the future.
Tang Dynasty Du Fu's poem "Yuelu Mountain Daolin Second Temple Tour": "The lotus flowers are symphonic and the birds are life-threatening, and the gold list is double-back and three-legged." Qiu Zhaoao quoted Huang Sheng as saying: "Three-legged black, on the same day." ”
Song Luyou's "Moonlit Night Short Song": "Although the star is high, he does not have to be happy, and the three-legged yang is born at the bottom of the sea." ”
The Golden Crow mainly serves the Queen Mother of the West and is the spirit of the sun in Han mythology. According to mythology, there is a three-legged crow in the sun, and the ancient people used the golden crow as another name for the sun.
Legend has it that the golden crow is the essence of the sun, in the middle of the sun, in the form of a three-legged crow, a total of ten. They live on the Fuso tree in the eastern sea, and take turns to be driven up from Fuso by their mother, Xihe, passing through Qu'a Mountain, Zengquan, Sangye, Yuzhong, Kunwu Mountain, Nioji Mountain, Beigu Valley, Nuji, Yuanyu, Lianshi Mountain, Beiquan and Yuyuan. Later, the Jin Crow rebelled, and at the same time ten of them went up to the sky together, causing the earth to be scorched, and Hou Yi shot down nine with divine arrows, and only one remained.
Legend has it that the Queen Mother of the West made a sacred bird. There are three, namely the blue bird. "River Atlas Map": "Kunlun is in the water, and it cannot be reached unless you take a dragon." There is a three-legged sacred bird, which feeds for the Queen Mother of the West. ”
The legendary bird of auspiciousness. The state is the way to appear. Its theory was first seen in the Han Dynasty. "Dongguan Hanji: Emperor Zhang": "Three-legged Wuji Peiguo, white deer, white rabbit, nine-tailed fox see. ”
For example, Han Yu's poem in the Tang Dynasty: "Jinwu first flew from the bottom of the sea" (the sun has just rushed out of the seabed); Bai Juyi's poem: "The white rabbit and the red black take advantage of each other" (the moon and the sun chase each other). The ancients also used "black flying rabbit walking" as a metaphor for how life flies.
It is said that when the ancient people saw sunspots, they thought it was a black bird that could fly - crows, and because it was different from the crows in nature, it was added with a foot to distinguish it, and because it was related to the sun, it was golden, so it was a three-legged golden crow.
According to the "Classic of Mountains and Seas" and other ancient books, the ten days in ancient Chinese sun myths and legends are the sons of Emperor Jun and Xihe, who have the characteristics of both humans and gods, and are the incarnation of the golden crow, which is a three-legged crow and a flying sun god bird. For example, in "The Classic of Mountains and Seas: The Great Wilderness of the South", there is "Xihe, the wife of Emperor Jun, born for ten days"; "The Classic of Mountains and Seas: Overseas East Longitude" says, "There is Fusang in the Tang Valley, and the ten-day bath is in the north of the black tooth." dwelling in the water, there are big trees, nine days in the lower branches, one day in the upper branches"; "The Classic of Mountains and Seas: The Great Wilderness East Classic" also says that "there is a buttress on the Tang Valley, one day to arrive, one day to come out, all contained in Wu", which is an account of the myths and legends of the Ten Days. In "Huainanzi Spiritual Chapter", it is said that "there is a crow in the sun", and Guo Pu's commentary that "there is a three-legged crow", which is an explanation and explanation of the sun as the incarnation of the golden crow. In ancient myths and legends, the ten days take turns to rise from the Fuso Sacred Tree in the east every morning, turn into a golden crow or sun god bird and fly from east to west in the universe, and at night it falls on the western Wakaki sacred tree, which expresses the observation and feeling of the sunrise and sunset phenomenon in ancient times that melt into the myth.
In the "Classic of Mountains and Seas", there is an account of the three blue birds and the colorful birds, which are also very wonderful sacred birds. For example, the "West Mountain Sutra" says that "the mountain of three dangers, the three blue birds"; "The Great Wilderness of the West" said that in the great wilderness, there is the Queen Mother's Mountain in the west, "there are three blue birds, red heads and black eyes, one is called Daqiao, one is called Shaomu, and one is called Blue Bird"; He also said, "There are three colorful birds, one is called the emperor bird, one is called the Luan bird, and the other is called the phoenix bird"; "Hainai North Classic" says that "the West Queen Mother ladder and the hoopoe staff, there are three blue birds in the south, for the West Queen Mother to eat, in Kunlun Xubei". The three blue birds and the colorful birds in these accounts are extraordinary, and they are also a reflection of the ancient ancestors' concept of worshipping birds.
Although there is no saying of "making three birds" in the "Classic of Mountains and Seas", the three blue birds are the food of the Queen Mother of the West, and they have been enslaved, and the three blue birds and the colorful birds are all three. Mr. Yuan Ke believes that through these accounts, it can be seen that "the three blue birds are not small birds that turn to people, but birds of prey that are good at flying."
This kind of historical data shows that the Kunlun, the golden crow and the golden cicada have an inseparable relationship with the Queen Mother of the West!
