Chapter 19 Follow-up Investigation
Odd.
How did they end up in this place?
Ryan's heart moved.
Combined with what the dwarf Cooper said, it can be clearly judged that the appearance of the Green Forest Gang in this place is not a common phenomenon.
Well, by chance.
Or did they come for the sake of Gero?
Ryan didn't know the answer, and even though he had tried to eliminate as many eyes as he could, no one could guarantee it.
ββ¦β¦β
Ryan took a sip of the juice and decided to wait until they had finished eating and drinking to track it down to investigate the situation, the location of the members' appearance was so coincidental that he could not be sure that it had nothing to do with them.
"It's only been a long time since I've been in trouble for the first time," Ryan felt unhappy in his heart, "I hope the owner of this tavern can get a reward commensurate with this incident." β
Next, Ryan chatted with Aithia and Jieluo for about half an hour, a middle-aged man who was quite tall and well-dressed, but his whole body was as thin as a skeleton, and then he hurriedly came to the table of three under the guidance of a waiter.
"βJieluo! Are you, okay? β
The middle-aged man came to the table with an anxious face, waved his hand to the waiter standing next to him, signaled him to stand down first, and then immediately hammered his head with remorse after sitting down, "I'm sorry, you've grown into a very beautiful girl, and I completely forgot about that!" β
A man with a very unique temperament.
This was Ryan's first impression of the tavern owner, Jeffrey. Generally speaking, people who make a living doing business in the "transit station" dress more casually, and few are dressed appropriately like Jeffrey or even a bit like a nobleman.
"It's okay, father, it's all over," Jieluo shook her head and said softly, "I'm fine, take a day off, and then I can get back to work the next day." β
"No, Jieluo, you don't need to be in such a hurry," Jeffrey got anxious, "rest for a few days!" It's okay to continue when everything is well maintained. β
"Father, the travelers and adventurers who pass through Linktown are willing to come to our tavern for a drink, not only because the food and the places here are really good, but also because some of them are for me," Jieluo said with a hint of firmness, "You gave me a meal and a new life when I was about to starve to death, so I must work hard to repay you as well." β
Hearing this, Jeffrey's lips moved, and then he gritted his teeth and spoke in a very self-reproachful tone, "Okay, but you must pay attention to your body and don't force yourself." β
"Don't worry, father, I know it."
Jieluo smiled and nodded.
Jeffrey took a deep breath and looked at Ryan and the others, "I'm sorry, both, I've watched Jie Luo grow from a little girl to the present, and she's important to me. Allow me to apologize for the faux pas I just had, andβ"
He stood up and bowed to the two Ryan in a very standard courtesy, "Thank you for being able to save Jero from them!" β
Ryan didn't play hypocrisy either, shrugged his shoulders and said, "As long as we can get paid in full, I think my partner and I will be happy to help." Also, you have a nice daughter. β
ββ¦β¦ yes," Jeffrey smiled wryly, "her personality has been like this since she was a child, and once she really decides something, no one can stop it, not even me." This is really not like me at all. β
Hearing this, Jieluo couldn't help but smile slightly, and half-jokingly, "Who made me not born to you in the first place, father." β
β¦β¦
The Green Forest gang enjoyed this dinner for a little longer than Ryan had expected.
"I'm sorry, Mr. Jeffrey, Miss Jero, and Athea," Ryan stood up and watched the members of the Greenwood gang on the first floor pay their bills and leave the tavern door, "I'll go to the bathroom." β
Ryan walked down the stairs.
Jeffrey's final payment was still very satisfying to Ryan.
In terms of finances, in the end, Jeffrey's promise was that Ryan and his party could go to his room on the second floor of the tavern early tomorrow morning to receive a total of three hundred gold coins. That's a lot of money, and if he and Althea don't do anything, it's enough to support them in the city for a month or more.
As for magic items...... Although Jeffrey couldn't provide it, he said that the two of them could go directly to the biggest store in town to find a boss named Lyon, and he would give him at least a 60% discount after explaining the matter.
On the basis of these rewards, figuring out whether the presence of these two members of the Greenwood gang in the Jeffrey Tavern was intentional or unintentional would naturally make Ryan feel more comfortable.
Squeak β
Out of the tavern door, Ryan hid in the crowd and walked silently.
He wasn't a full-time loiter, but his noisy environment allowed him to follow the gang members without them noticing.
The two members of the Greenwood gang made their way through Linktown, and soon left the town and came to a secluded place, blowing a whistle.
This is basically in line with Ryan's judgment of them. The Greenwood Gang is a gang that has wandered outside of the civilized world, and combined with the clues that the dwarf Cooper almost interspersed, this gang should have just settled in the outskirts of this area.
Because they had seen Gerlo once in the tavern and were attracted by her dancing, they secretly made her calculations, and when they found out that Gerlo would perform alone in the next town, this is what Ryan and Althea saw.
Come to think of this.
At this moment, a man of medium height, but with a clear appearance and temperament, who was not the same kind as the two members who had come to report the news, stepped out of the shadows.
"How's it going?"
The man asked in a deep voice.
One of them stepped forward and reported, "We found Jeroy at Jeffrey's Tavern and two people in the way were with her, and I suspect they may be the ones who spoiled our good deeds." Boss, what do we do next? β
The man pondered for a moment, then said quietly, "I'll go into town, find a way to find out where these two people live, and then kill them." He killed so many of our brothers, and ruined our good deeds, and if they didn't kill my boss, he wouldn't let me go. β
"Do you hear that? "Also, I'm reminding you that your boss is Barakasβdon't you call me that in his presence." Otherwise, you will die an ugly death. β
"As for Jieluo, you don't have to worry about this."
