Master said earnestly, "To put it more simply, when you really understand what affection is, when you really let go, you will truly understand the meaning of compassion. ”

Master said to me again, "What is the death of life? It is a great mistake to think that lust arises without actually committing a mistake, that there is no sin or a slight sin. Let me tell you a few stories, and you have to listen carefully, and it's up to you how much you can learn from them. ”

In the Ming Dynasty, there was a scholar Zhao Yongzhen, who once met a master when he was a teenager and told him: "You are very talented, and when you are twenty-three years old, you will definitely pass the examination." ”

When Zhao Yongzhen was twenty-three years old, he participated in the township examination, and the article was written very smoothly, the content was sonorous and powerful, and the examiner appreciated it very much, and had decided to choose his article. Zhao Yongzhen is very sad, obviously she is very sure, I don't know what's going on? Therefore, he prayed to Emperor Wenchang for a dream, hoping to tell him the reason for his failure.

That night, Emperor Wenchang really dreamed to him and said: "You are self-inflicted if you fail the exam, you were destined to pass this year's township exam, but because you have recently molested the maid in the house, and seduced the neighbor's daughter, your heart is reversed, and your lust is constantly lingering. ”

After hearing this, Zhao Yongzhen regretted that he had not controlled his desires and misdeeds, so he swore to make amends, and he paid for the printing of many good books on abstaining from prostitution to warn the world, and did good deeds in the countryside. In the next township examination, he really won the examination Xie Yuan, and the official went to the feudal constitution.

After the man had lustful thoughts in his heart, he slowly walked to the widow's room and wanted to raise his hand and knock on the door, but a thought suddenly appeared in his heart: "No! I am a person who reads the books of sages, and I am going to take the top prize, if this impulse violates the fornication vows, I am afraid that the heavenly court will remove me, so I should go back! ”

As soon as he left, the proprietress had a thought of going to him. As soon as I walked out of the room, I thought to myself, "What am I doing here?" No, I'm a widow, my husband has just died, I should keep a festival for my husband, how can I see a handsome young man forgetting his duty, committing adultery will send me to hell, go back! Thinking of this, the widow broke out in a cold sweat and hurried back to her room.

After lifting the person back to the room, the lust burned again, and he couldn't stand the torment, so he came to the door of the proprietress again, raised his hand and knocked on the door. When the widow heard this, when she got up to open the door, she was so weak that she ran away with another smoke, because the thought of "moral conscience" in her heart had overcome "lustful thoughts," and she was afraid that if she committed adultery, she would be stripped of her reputation.

Since ancient times, China has been a country of etiquette, everything "out of love, stop at courtesy", the ancestors warned us: even if you have a good knowledge, you are destined to be the champion, if you commit adultery and evil, heaven will punish you, and the title of champion will be lost. So he turned around and walked away as soon as the widow was about to open the door.

But the widow knew this, and followed him, and came and knocked at his door, but she struggled inwardly, and told herself that she must keep her chastity, and that she should not lose her dignity and be despised by others, so she knocked on the door and immediately avoided it, and turned her head back.

The two of them walked back and forth two or three times like this, swaying, pulling, and entangled between "morality" and "desire". In the end, the man got up and opened the door, and the two sides looked at each other, and for a moment they were unbearably angry, but they were restrained by reason, and they did not dare to act rashly, and the two men hesitated and did not dare to act, not knowing how to develop next......

At this moment of hesitation, a very angry voice suddenly came from the air: "What are you two doing?" If you want to do it and don't do it, what should you do? Draw my merit book to a sparse screech, and I'm tired to death! With that, something fell in the air.

When the two of them heard these thunderous words, they trembled with fright, and they also woke up from their desires, and quickly picked up this thing from the ground to see, it turned out that what fell was a "merit book", on which their names were clearly written: the male is the champion of the current department, who commits adultery and relieves his name, and crosses and draws it off; The woman was a widow who kept the feast, and when she died, she went to heaven, and now she committed adultery, and she was also painted.

When I heard Master tell me about this, I asked Master if he could further explain this "There is a god with a head three feet up".

Master nodded and explained to me further, "There is a god in the three feet of the head", which means upward, because the god is placed above the offering table. The ancients believed in the gods, and when they encountered unsatisfactory conditions, they would go to the temple to worship. The original meaning is that the gods are watching you from three feet above the offering table, and if you pray and make offerings, the gods will appear to help you.

Later, it was extended that no matter where you are doing, the gods three feet above your head will see clearly, so people should not think that no one will do bad things because no one sees them. It is to persuade people not to do evil and to do good, and later there is a saying that "there is a god when you look up three feet", which also has a similar meaning. There are also many gods in general, and they are everywhere.

Many people only know that "there are gods in the three feet of the head", but they don't know that there is the next sentence "not afraid of others, afraid of oneself." This sentence comes from a poem and is accompanied by an allusion.

During the Yongzheng period of the Qing Dynasty, there was a man named Ye Cunren, who had been an official for more than 30 years and was honest and self-controlled. When he left office, his subordinates wanted to send a boat to see him off, but the ship did not come. It wasn't until the bright moon hung high that I saw a small boat rowing. Even if it is in the middle of the river, the moonlit night is silent, you can avoid people's eyes and ears, you can cover up the hidden evil, but you can't avoid or hide your conscience. This is a kind of realm and ethics of ancient Chinese scholars and doctors in behaving in the world and acting as officials.

Ye Cunren did not refuse strictly, and used a poem to show that he must have a conscience, do things with the right conscience, be honest and not accept bribes, so that the gift givers are not forced anymore.

Similar to "there are gods in the head, not afraid of others and afraid of oneself", there is also a well-known story of "God knows, earth knows, I know, you know".

Yang Zhen of the Eastern Han Dynasty, a native of Huayin County, Hongnong County, was young and studious, well-read, and was known as "Confucius of Kansai" by the people at that time. At the end of the conversation, Master said to me in a serious tone: "In the future road, whether you can do it or not depends on yourself, there are some things that I have explained to you very clearly, you have to constantly correct yourself, look to your heart to find the answer to things, sometimes look at very complicated things, often solve them very easily, look at very simple things, but according to the changes in the environment, you must be vigilant!" If a person indulges in sexual immorality or sexual immorality, and his mind is full of thoughts, a lot of the essence in the body will be consumed, and because of the heavy fire in the heart, the kidney water will be consumed, and his eyes must be wandering and uncertain.

If the spirit is insufficient, the energy is insufficient, a person's kidney essence is insufficient, the external spirit is not full, very decayed, and at the same time the mood is impetuous, people appear to be tired, full of confusion, easy to make all kinds of wrong decisions, this is called the heart is hot, the kidney water is insufficient.

In fact, once people appear in this state, it is not far from disaster, whether it is your career, family, or body, there will be all kinds of very bad phenomena, so you should pay special attention.

It is said in ancient books: the eyes are blank, the eyes are bruised, and the eye circles are black. Traditional Chinese medicine believes that "the liver opens up the eyes". The liver and kidney are homologous, the kidney qi is insufficient, the kidney water cannot nourish the liver wood, the eyes are dull, and the eye circles are black. People with sufficient kidney qi have clear and bright eyes, and they are full of energy.

A person's yang energy gradually fades, and the yin energy gradually increases, and the problems of the body will gradually increase. When the yang energy is exhausted and the yin energy is full, the person dies.
