It is difficult for the vast majority of people to do the love of the Mohists, and the benevolence and righteousness of Confucianism are much more reliable and simple.
Even the son-in-law who has been nostalgic for Qinglou for more than ten years dares to praise himself for his benevolence and righteousness - hey, he never owes anyone money, and he has never done anything evil, how can he not be considered benevolent?
And for this kind of person, Xun Ke's evaluation is: take all the orders.
Don't forget that his core idea is that human nature is inherently evil.
Because human nature is inherently evil, etiquette and education are more needed.
After the wicked have been punished, in Xun Ke's concept, it is possible to go to evil and retain good.
You can't even have a chance to be a new person – unless you've made a fatal mistake.
In addition to this, he also advocated that his disciples should be able to "do one good deed every day".
This good doesn't need to be a big deal.
When I saw the hungry and cold traveler, I handed over a piece of dry food and a glass of water; Seeing that the road surface is uneven and filled with a little soil; Even seeing that the elderly are inconvenient to walk and escort a ride, it counts.
Even if you can't do these little things, it's nothing, Confucian students live a peaceful and stable life, don't do unjust things, don't hurt others, even if they are qualified.
Of course, the word benevolence and righteousness are only the most superficial expressions, in order to facilitate the understanding of the people at the lowest level, so that they can also understand what Confucianism is saying.
In addition to the words benevolence and righteousness, Xun Ke also put forward a higher level and more perfect pursuit: filial piety, loyalty, forgiveness, courtesy, knowledge, bravery, respect, generosity, faithfulness, sensitivity, and benevolence
After completing the most basic benevolence and righteousness, there are these paths to continue to improve oneself, which is the moral standard and the state of personality.
If someone can do all of this, he will be a saint.
Xun Ke gave everyone the opportunity to participate.
And it doesn't have to be the same as Mozi as soon as you come up, you have to go to the supreme and supreme avenue.
But to manage yourself first, and then in the case of personal higher pursuits, little by little to improve, even if you can't do it, there is no pressure, as long as you keep the word benevolence and righteousness is enough.
It is precisely for this reason that with the spread of that eloquent text, the word Confucian benevolence and righteousness is also famous.
Whether it is the underlying logic, or the process of climbing step by step, and finally reaching the realm of the saint himself, no matter how you look at it, it is more reasonable and clear.
To use a not very appropriate analogy: if a carriage can only seat six people, and there are tigers chasing six strangers they don't know, then the Confucian scholar in the carriage can only save five people, which does not harm Confucian benevolence, and under the Confucian concept, no one can criticize him for this, and Confucian himself does not have to blame himself.
But if it's an ink person, you have to go down to face the tiger yourself, and if you don't go, it's not enough to be called an ink person.
Of course, it can be said that Confucianism is not as noble as the ink scholars, but how many people are really willing to be so noble?

It is not easy to be able to drive a car without seeing a tiger, but be willing to do what you can to save people.

It's just because everyone likes it, but they don't want to do it.
If it is against human nature, it is natural to be educated by human nature.
Human nature is evil, and seek good in evil.
