Chapter Twenty-Three: Lori Seriously Injured
There is no doubt that in the current world, not many people can refuse the recruitment of the umbrella company, let alone a weak chicken programmer with two small children?
Leon used a position as a D-level employee of the engineering department to recruit this professor at Georgia Tech, a senior intellectual who is beyond the reach of ordinary people, with a weekly salary of 1,500 contribution points, which is not much, but it is still much more generous than ordinary logistics personnel.
With this new university professor, Leon and the combat team went on to clean up the three villas, which was a good demonstration of the combat effectiveness and courage of the fighters of the Umbrella Company.
During this period, Amrin's face was not good-looking, and when Leon chatted with him, he learned that many of the zombies here were acquaintances and neighbors with him when they were alive, and most of them were senior employees of nearby factories and companies.
From the university professor's mouth, Lyon learned that Atlanta is one of the top ten financial centers in the United States, known as the "New Southern Capital", with a diversified economy, and hundreds of large companies are headquartered here, including Coca-Cola, Home Depot, Delta Air Lines, United Parcels, Holiday Inn and Southern Bell. 430 of the 500 largest companies in the U.S. have set up branches in Asia.
It is also a famous historic, cultural, and tourist city in America, with many museums and large parks.
Obviously, the professor knows Atlanta very well, has worked here all year round, enjoys a high social status, knows a lot of intelligence that he does not know, plus the rare skills he possesses.
Leon was glad that he had found the treasure, and if he had come a few days later, he would probably have found only three poor zombies in the basement.
After cleaning 20 villas in one afternoon, and the time came to 5 p.m., Leon had no intention of venturing in the night, so he and his team returned to the base with Professor Amrin's family and four truckloads of looted supplies.
Once at the base, Leon disbanded the team and sent them to hand over supplies.
Amy, the little secretary, appeared out of nowhere, walked quickly to Leon's side, and skillfully helped him take off his equipment.
The girl smiled like a flower and had a sweet voice.
"Boss, you're back."
Leon nodded, pointed to Professor Amlin's family, and introduced:
"This is Professor Amlin and his two sons and daughters, new D-class employees in the engineering department, senior electronic engineers, senior software programmers, and university professors."
"This is Ms. Amy, my personal assistant, who is currently in charge of most of the company's affairs."
Amy smiled politely at Professor Amlin and nodded, saying:
"Welcome to Umbrella Corporation, Professor Amrin."
Amning smiled weakly back and said:
"Hello, Miss Amy, it is also my honor to be part of such a company that strives for all mankind."
After the two exchanged a few words, Leon instructed Amy:
"You take Professor Amlin's family to go through the entry procedures, and by the way, help them arrange a place to live, and you can advance two weeks' salary to him."
"I see, boss."
After Leon had finished instructing Amy, he turned to Amulin and said:
"Professor, you can take a hot shower here, and there is plenty of food and a change of clothes, so you and your children can rest well tonight."
"Tomorrow, I will arrange time to have a good chat with you, and by the way, arrange your work here."
Amlin took his child in his arms, bowed deeply to Leon, and said:
"Thank you, Mr. Custer, for saving me and my family, a kindness that I will always remember, and may God bless you."

At 2 o'clock in the morning, Leon was sleeping sweetly with Amy's smooth and delicate body in his arms, when suddenly the walkie-talkie placed on the bedside table squeaked.
"Boss, boss, are you there?"
"This is Glenn, this is Glenn."
"We are still 10 minutes from the base and need your help on an urgent matter."
Amy's face was still slightly tear-stained, as if she had been disturbed by the noise on the walkie-talkie, and she shrunk back on Leon's chest like a frightened little animal, and then opened her sleepy eyes in a bit of confusion.
Leon kissed her lightly on the forehead, pulling over the high-end velvet quilt to cover her white skin.
"I've got something to do, so you can sleep by yourself."
Amy pulled the quilt on her body a little shyly, as if remembering the madness of last night, nodded a little tired in her meekness, and said in a slightly hoarse voice:
"Okay, boss, pay attention to your body and rest early."
Leon, draped in a pajamas, picked up the walkie-talkie on the bedside, walked out of the bedroom, and replied:
"This is Leon Custer, Glenn, what's going on over there?"
Glenn's voice was a little anxious, a little tired.
"Sorry, boss, to wake you up so late, we have a lady Lori on our side who has a serious traumatic injury and needs urgent treatment."
"I only know you as a doctor now, so I drove Ms. Lori from the quarry overnight."
Leon's voice was silent for more than ten seconds before he continued:
"What injuries did this lady have?"
"The boss, Ms. Lori, was collecting supplies in the city when she fell from a height of about ten meters and fainted, and a corrosive liquid was splashed on her face, causing quite severe burns, and she is still unconscious."
"Officer Sean was very anxious, and he took Carl and me overnight to our base with the four of them."
"Daryl will come over tomorrow with the rest of the camp."
"We're here in seven or eight minutes, so be prepared."
Leon was silent for a few seconds, then replied lightly, saying:
"Come directly from the underground parking lot, I'll be waiting for you at Clinic 1."
"Okay, boss."
"Thank you, Mr. Custer." At the end of the conversation, Sean's hoarse voice came over the intercom.
Ten minutes later, Leon was in the operating room of Clinic 1, where Sean was hurrying to hold Lori and Carl crying on Glenn's lap.
Lori's eyes were closed, her hair was loose, and her face was visibly burned.
Sean's expression is very complicated, some are nervous, some are anxious, some are guilty, and some are regretful.
Leon asked Sean to lay Lori flat on the hospital bed, and he took the stethoscope to check it out.
Indeed, as Glenn described, there were extensive chemical burns to the face, neck, chest, minor concussion in the brain, and fractures in limbs and joints.
The most serious is the eyeball, which has been completely damaged by the chemical fluid that has destroyed most of the nerves, and there is no possibility of repair.
In other words, the injuries on Lori's body, even if healed, are blind and disfigured.
After getting this result, Leon also had some fluctuations in his heart, and a big reason why this happened was because of the butterfly effect he caused.
It's not emotions like guilt, but rather. A wonderful sense of substitution, everything he does will change the fate of this world, and it is no longer the stereotypical image of the past.
Doing his duty as a doctor, Leon called Sean and Carl aside and told them the truth about Lori's current condition and the consequences of treatment.
Although Sean's face was full of pain and his expression was full of regret and guilt, he gritted his teeth and begged Leon to treat Lori.
