Chapter 38: Severance

After waiting for nearly 10 minutes, Professor Amrin was still there in front of the monitor, repeating his own language without giving up.

"Boss, are all the people inside dead?"

Moore scratched his chin and guessed:

"Could it be that some of the injured survivors also entered the inside, and then there was a corpse mutiny, killing all the people inside."

Leon frowned, and he also had such a guess in his heart, but if this was the case, then he would lose a lot of money this time.

If such a fanfare action does not achieve certain results, it is likely to reduce his prestige in the eyes of employees.

Thinking of this, he couldn't help but feel a wave of irritability in his heart, a strong desire to destroy.

At this moment, a beeping sound sounded from inside the steel gate, and Professor Amulin shouted excitedly:

"It's open, it's open, the door is open!"

Leon sensed that something was wrong, if the people in the vault were normal, why not communicate in advance, but just open the door?

He pulled out the silenced pistol from his belt, pulled the emotional Professor Amlin to the back of the group, and shouted:

"Something is wrong with the situation, everyone pay attention, prepare for battle!"

Hearing the boss's warning, Glenn, T-boy, Moore and the others hurriedly put away the joy on their faces, holding a short knife in one hand and a silenced pistol in the other, and pointed at the door of the shelter.

Drip! Drip! Drip! Drip!

The metal door began to slowly close to the right, revealing a crack through which came the screams of a girl in horror and struggle, the angry roar of a man, and the roars of more dense zombies.

Leon walked near the gap and looked inside, in a large, modern hall, hundreds of zombies were rounding up a petite girl like wolves.

The girl was very agile, moving around the hall, screaming in terror as she dodged the zombies.

And in another corner of the hall, a burly strong man, holding a metal chair, was fighting with zombies, he waved the chair vigorously, while shouting his sister, let out a huge roar, and from time to time he turned his worried eyes on the girl in the hall.

Behind the strong man, behind a wall of glass, twenty or thirty young men who looked very haggard, holding all kinds of strange weapons in their hands, stared at the scene in the hall with anger, worry, fear, or self-reproach, but still no one had the courage to break out of the barrier and join the battle.

Twenty or thirty seconds later, the girl was gradually surrounded by a huge number of zombies in a small range, unable to move around as before, as if she was about to be eaten by the corpses, and in half a minute, the metal gate had just opened a gap that only children could penetrate.

Leon knew he couldn't wait any longer, he raised his silencer pistol, and through the little gap that opened, he sensed it, aimed at the zombies that were hindering the girl's return to the metal gate, and quickly pulled the trigger, emptying the magazine in a matter of seconds.

Burst! Burst! Burst! Burst! Burst!

There was not much accuracy at all, only one zombie was hit in the head and collapsed, and the other bullets hit the zombie's body, unable to cause them effective damage.

However, this kind of shooting can also interfere with the movement of the zombies.

Leon couldn't care about so much, he didn't have the time to change the magazine, he directly raised his hand and snatched the silenced pistol from Glenn's hand, handed him his own, and started the next round of shooting.

"Run to the gate, stick to the wall, watch out for stray bullets."

Leon shouted at the girl, then ran out of magazines in a matter of seconds.

This time it hit the heads of two zombies.

Without hesitation, he took the pistol from T-boy's hand again and continued to aim and shoot.

As the gap between the opening of the gate became larger and larger, Leon's shooting accuracy became higher and higher, and this magazine directly killed four zombies, successfully opening a small gap in the encirclement of zombies.

The girl also seemed to see hope, and she tried her best to break away from the zombies and run in the direction of Leon.

However, at the last moment of breaking out of the encirclement, a strong zombie suddenly grabbed her arm, leaned over and bit her forearm.

The blood accompanied by the girl's screams made Leon's brows furrow fiercely, and he immediately shot the zombie's head, and shouted at the girl whose face was full of pain and her eyes became dim:

"Come to my side, we still have a way to save you."

Hearing Leon's words, Peggy gritted her teeth, her somewhat dim eyes flashed a hint of longing for life, she covered her injured forearm, avoided the zombies that were still rushing towards her, and ran towards the man at the gate.

When she got there, the door of the vault opened up for a person to enter and exit, and before she could speak, the tall, handsome man walked through the door, grabbed her injured arm with a hard grasp, and the knife flashed in his other hand.

Peggy only felt a sudden chill in her forearm, followed by a sharp pain, and she turned her head to see that the arm that had accompanied her for more than 20 years had been cut off from the lower part of the elbow by the man.

Leon frowned slightly, put away the brand new short knife he pulled out from Professor Amrin, pulled the professor's fairly clean white shirt, wrapped Peggy's bloodied severed arm, and then pushed the satchel on the back of the waist and the girl who was almost fainting onto the professor, and said:

"Amrin, she shouldn't be infected yet, I have painkillers and hemostatic bandages in my bag, hurry up and help her take care of her wounds, don't let her blood run dry."

After giving the order, ignoring the scrambled professor, Leon exited the corridor at the gate of the vault and said to the team members beside him:

"Come on, brothers, keep this corridor, don't let the zombies rush out, their speed is very slow, aim and shoot, don't waste bullets."

The crowd received the order and gathered around Leon, and at his command they subdivided the order of shooting.

Six people and six guns, guarding a corridor, enough to form a rain of bullets, the enemy is still straight forward, the zombies who will not dodge, as the zombie door continues to pour into the corridor, the slight sound of the silenced pistol continues to sound.

Many zombies were killed by headshots, they collapsed to the ground, and gradually, the corpses piled up on the road, causing more and more obstacles to the movement of subsequent zombies.

Bang! Bang! Bang!

Bang! Bang! Bang!

The zombies are moving slower and slower, and the crowd is becoming more and more proficient in shooting.

Five minutes later, nearly 300 rounds of ammunition were consumed by Leon and others, and in the gushing channel, corpses piled up on each other, intertwined with each other, and filled the entire space.

The zombies were almost wiped out, and there was no longer a single figure that could move, and the rancid black blood slowly flowed, converging into a shallow puddle.

Leon looked back at the girl with his severed arm, her body already bandaged, and her pretty face was pale from blood loss.

The girl rested her right hand on her severed left arm, and was looking up at Leon's eyes with her brown misty eyes.

Peggy's eyes contained a lot of emotions, complicated and indescribable, she pulled the corners of her mouth, showed a wry smile, and said in a somewhat hoarse voice.

"Thank you, sir, for saving my life."

Leon's face remained unchanged, and he nodded lightly to the girl and said:

"You're welcome, ma'am."

"Now that the zombies in the shelter have been cleared, can you please go to your companions and ask them to clean up this place?"

"After that, we'll talk about it in detail, and what will happen in the future."
