Chapter 43: Death Is Not Absolute

Townsend was found on William Turner's lookout on the mast of the Black Pearl.

By the time he was helped down by the soldiers, he was already staggering and his eyes were foggy.

Everyone could feel the despair and sadness that emanated from him, as well as the strong smell of alcohol.

"You look like Tetuga, one of the pirates everywhere." Jack Sparrow sniffed and said mercilessly, "Looks like you've come to terms with the fact that you have pirate blood in your veins, little Bill." ”

"However, if you want to join the Black Pearl, please allow me to refuse, obviously you can't do anything with this look."

"Captain Sparrow, don't be so mean." Townsend motioned for the soldiers to get some water to sober William, and said, "Mr. Turner thinks he has lost his father, and he is naturally grief-stricken. ”

"Don... Mr. Tang. William called out indistinctly, "Port Royal... Elizabeth..."

"Looks like our Mr. Turner wants to go home." Tang Sen said: "However, I have to remind you that you still owe me a request. ”

The soldiers came over with a basin of water and unceremoniously splashed it directly on William's face.

The way of decanting wine on the sea has always been so unpretentious.

The icy water made William shiver and his mind clearer.

But the drunkenness decreased, and the sorrow became more intense, and he bowed his head wet and said nothing.

"I didn't bring you to sea to see you become an alcoholic, Mr. Turner." Townsend said unceremoniously.

"Yes... I'm sorry. William apologized in a low tone, apparently not fluctuating in his mood.

"What does Mr. Tang want me to do?"

Tang Sen frowned and said, "A person who has lost hope can't do anything. ”

"What? Does Mr. Turner think it's over? I'm afraid you've forgotten what I said earlier. ”

William's shoulders shook a little, and he finally looked up, his eyes still dull, but at least he could show a look of doubt.

"What is your reason for following me to sea? Mr. Turner? ”

"Looking for news of my father, Mr. Tang." He said sadly, "It turns out that the pirate is right, my father is really a crew member of the Black Pearl, and he was indeed sunk to the bottom of the sea, and the funny thing is that the lifting of the curse completely took his life, and I don't even know where his body is." ”

"Are you blaming me? Mr. Turner? Townsend said lukewarmly.

"No... No, Mr. Tang, I have nothing but gratitude to you..."William panicked, "It's just..."

"Let me remind you, Mr. Turner." Townsend interrupted him and said, "The reason why you have followed me to sea has always been because I told you that I had met a man named William Turner on David Jones's ship. ”

"Do you believe Mr. Sparrow's words, but not mine?"

William was stunned for a moment, and hope suddenly appeared in his eyes, but it was quickly extinguished again.

"My father is dead, Mr. Tang."

Tang Sen sneered and said, "Above this sea, nothing is absolute, including death. ”

"Tell me, what kind of being is David Jones in the legends you've heard?"

William replied numbly: "David Jones, captain of the Flying Dutchman, legend has it that the ship traveled between the present world and the underworld, communicating the living and the dead, ferrying the dead to the underworld... Well? ”

He suddenly stopped his words and stared wide-eyed: "The legend is true? ”

"The curse of the Black Pearl is real, isn't it?" Townsend said, "I think Captain Sparrow can talk to you about Davy Jones." ”

Sparrow craned his neck and muttered, "That's not a good topic." ”

"It's a pure devil, and whenever death is destined on the sea, David Jones will show up, and he will make you choose to die, or join the flying Dutchman."

"There is no doubt that he plays with life and death, and he is able to keep the dying alive in this world... In an uncomfortable way. ”

"I... My father, probably not dead? William clutched Spyro by the sleeve.

"Hey! Let go of me! Sparrow shook him off dissatisfied, saying, "If Old Bill did meet David Jones, then I think I would have been able to guess his choice." ”

"Do you choose to be tied to a cannon and sink forever in the darkness of the sea, enduring eternal loneliness, or do you choose to accept Davy Jones' invitation to be his pathetic crew?"

"By the way, if it were me, I wouldn't choose either." He shuddered: "Obviously, being a crew member of the Flying Dutchman is no more pleasant than being stranded at the bottom of the sea." ”

"Davy Jones," William kept repeating the name, and finally came to his senses, "where is he?" ”

"No one knows, the Flying Dutchman is no ordinary pirate ship, it can sneak under the sea, it can sail far away in the underworld, it can be anywhere in the world, and you will never find it unless David Jones has his eye on you." Sparrow said quietly.

"Mr. Tang must have a way, right?" William turned his head and said, "That's why you're mentioning him at this moment." ”

"That's right, Mr. Turner." Seeing that William had finally regained his former sanity and wit, Tang Sen nodded with relief: "This is also the thing I need you to do. ”

Townsend stretched out his hand towards Sparrow.

Sparrow tilted his head, untied a dirty bottle of rum from his waist and put it in Townsen's hand: "Don't finish it, save a little for me, I only took two sips." ”

"Compass, Captain Sparrow." Townsend reminded.

"Oh, that compass!" Sparrow squeezed out a smiling face, took out the compass, hesitated for a moment, and suddenly walked a few steps in place, and said, "Actually, why don't you let the owner of the compass navigate?" ”

"There's fear in your heart, Captain Sparrow." Townsend said unceremoniously: "When you get the compass, can his pointer really point to what I need?" ”

"Will... Would it? Sparrow rolled his eyes.

"Don't fool yourself, Captain Sparrow." Townsend snatched the compass directly from him: "You forgot what you said, firm and pure, Captain, obviously, you are not firm enough now. ”

He placed the compass in William's palm and said slowly, "And Mr. Turnerβ€”"

"What are you willing to give to save your father?"

"Everything! Mr. Tang! William said firmly.

"Even against David Jones? Facing the deepest fear of the sea? ”

"I'm ready, Mr. Tang."

Tang Sen smiled with satisfaction and raised his voice:

"Well, then, Mr. Turner, it is my pleasure to inform you."

"You're the helmsman of the Dreadnought now."
