Chapter 131: Sauron, Your End Has Come
In the books, Sauron did not have any guards left at Mount Doom, so much so that both hobbits were able to enter the crater and destroy the One Ring.
This happened partly because Sauron was careless, he didn't believe anyone would be able to resist the lure of the Ring and destroy it, and partly because he built the Eye of Sauron in Mordor.
He was confident enough to monitor everything about Mordor.
However, Mordor now does not have the Eye of Sauron, nor does it have enough buildings for Sauron, so the coalition forces soon discovered that almost all of their enemies were around Mount Doom.
This was the last position of the Dark Legion in Mordor, and they had no choice but to fight to the death, slowing down the pace of their advance.
"I can feel his evil aura."
Gandalf held his staff, "In the crater above that mountainside." β
"Sauron knows his strengths and his weaknesses." Tang Sen looked at Smaug, who was wreaking havoc in the Orc, and said, "He won't take the initiative, he doesn't have the confidence to face the dragon." β
"And the dragon's size can't fit into the crater."
"It seems that if you want to end this battle, a battle with Sauron is inevitable." Gandalf sighed, "It's a pity that Saruman the White and Lady Galadriel didn't make it to Mordor, they were wounded when they expelled Sauron from Dogurdu. β
"Wizard, do you have faith?" Townsend asked.
"If I can completely eliminate Sauron, my mission in Middle-earth will be complete." Gandalf said, "Regardless, this will be my last battle in Middle-earth. β
Townsend understood what he meant.
One is Maia who is bound in the flesh, and the other is Maia who has been weakened by most of her strength, and Gandalf in his usual state will naturally not be Sauron's opponent.
But Gandalf was ready to liberate Maia's power, even at the cost of the death of the body, which had been used for thousands of years.
Anyway, win or lose, Gandalf is going to return to Valinor.
"Then Sauron will be handed over to you." Tang Sen said seriously: "I will assist you." β
Gandalf glanced at Town, "Traveler, I don't deny Ling's abilities in other ways, but fighting? β
"Maybe Mr. Baggins is a little better than you."
The corners of Townsen's mouth twitched, this is indeed a fact, if he fights alone and does not use other equipment, he may not be able to beat Mr. Baggins.
No, why does this wizard speak with a dwarf smell?
There was no need to waste time slowly exterminating all the Orcs, and with the dwarven cavalry opening the way, the three of them headed directly towards the top of Mount Doom.
As soon as he approached the entrance to the crater, Townsend could see the black aura that was visible to the naked eye gushing from inside.
The entrance to the cave was not large, and the dwarven cavalry could not rush in, so Salin directly dismounted from his mount and stood next to Townese.
Gandalf's staff lit up, and the light spread out as if in substance, pushing the black aura away to form a sphere-like area, and he stepped inside.
Then there was Sarin and Towngsen, and finally Mr. Baggins, who was hesitant.
His face was pale, and he was slightly hunched, and in the Doom Volcano, the weight of the One Ring had made it impossible for him to stand upright, and all kinds of spontaneous evil thoughts were frantically impacting his mind, making him almost unable to concentrate.
Tang Sen was very sure that if his current self came into contact with the One Ring, he would probably be completely controlled by the ring.
The same goes for Gandalf and Salin.
Only hobbits with simple nature and peaceful desires can withstand the erosion of the Lord of the Rings.
As we walked through the corridor, the air became hotter and hotter, and a red glow appeared in front of us, and it became brighter and brighter, until the entire space was in flames, and the whole picture of the crater appeared in front of everyone.
It was a platform that stretched out, and at the end of the platform was a cliff, and below the cliff, the magma was smothering and choking.
Sauron was not seen.
But the haunting black aura showed that this depraved Maia was indeed here.
"Take out the Ring, Traveler, it's time to destroy it."
Gandalf took his staff and strode forward.
Tang Sen understood that although Sauron could sense the existence of the One Ring within a certain range, the hobbit was standing with him, and Sauron might not be able to distinguish so meticulously.
Moreover, all of Middle-earth knows that the Ring is in their own hands.
"You want me to be a bait again."
Townsend pulled something out of his pocket, held it in his hand discreetly, and then followed closely behind Gandalf, letting his figure be shrouded in the light of the staff at all times.
Bait is bait, and he doesn't want to bet that Sauron, as Maia, has a way to deal with the Curse of Immortality.
Let Gandalf bear everything.
As soon as he reached the middle of the platform, Sauron really couldn't hold it back, and a strong black aura attacked Tang Sen, to be exact, towards the ring in Tang Sen's hand.
"Don't think!" Gandalf roared, and the staff slammed the ground, a solid circle of light spreading out from the top of the staff.
The wizard, known for his melee combat, has finally shown what a wizard should be able to do.
The aperture directly pushed the black aura out, and the black aura circled in mid-air and landed at the end of the platform.
The darkness in the entire crater gathered, and it turned into a black mist, and in the mist, there were flames burning, and then, a huge pupil slowly condensed.
"Sauron." Gandalf's long beard was blown by the invisible wind, and his eyes were fixed on the huge pupils, "Your end has come." β
"Eurolinβ" A cold, hoarse voice came from the black mist, "You, bound in the flesh, have no power to stop me. β
Eurolin is Gandalf's real name as Maia, both of whom existed before the creation of the world, and naturally knew each other.
"You chose the battlefield at Mount Doom because the residual Morgoth aura here can increase your strength, right?" Gandalf approached step by step: "Morgoth has been banished, and so is your end. β
"I can see your future."
The huge pupil suddenly dilated, and in the pupil, a figure slowly appeared, turning from virtual to real.
It was pitch black full-body armor, and there was no body in sight, and in fact, Sauron didn't have a body, like a ringwraith, he just attached his will to the armor.
"The future has already been changed." Sauron said grimly, "By an outsider who calls himself a traveler. β
Townsend could feel the gaze under the helmet fall on him, sending chills down his spine.
"If it weren't for you, the fate of Middle-earth would be very different."
"It won't be any different." Tang Sen tried to keep his face calm, and said, "I'm just bringing your end forward." β
"I see your fears." Sauron's voice wrapped around Townsend like a poisonous snake: "You tried to cover it up, but it didn't make any sense, you were just an ordinary person, and the dark curse on your body couldn't protect you. β
Tang Sen only felt a flower in front of him, and he couldn't see anything in a trance, he only felt that he was in endless darkness, and in front of him, the terrible pupils were getting bigger and bigger, until they filled the whole world.
The whole world is watching itself.
"You took something you shouldn't have taken."
Countless voices rang wildly in his ears, and countless evil emotions attacked Townsen.
"Come here."
"Take it out"
Tang Sen found that he could not control his body at any time, and unconsciously walked towards the majestic pupils.
At that moment, a light pierced through the darkness and pierced the pupil like an arrow, and Townsend heard a scream and roar, and then the darkness faded, and Gandalf's voice finally reached Townwearn's ears.
"Don't listen to Sauron's evil words! He's tempting your soul! β
Tang Sen was shocked, and suddenly found that he actually raised his legs and tried to walk in front of Sauron alone.
If it weren't for Gandalf by his side, I'm afraid his soul would have been completely controlled by Sauron.
Maia is really not so easy to deal with, her level is too far from the other party, and she almost made herself unrecoverable with just one sentence.
"Fragile mortalsβ"
Sauron was not disappointed by the failure of his attempt, but his voice revealed joy: "Eurolin, I know you, you know that you will not be satisfied with just destroying the power of Mordor, you want to completely destroy the One Ring. β
"I've been waiting, I've been waiting, waiting for this opportunity, waiting for you to bring my treasure to me."
Gandalf said, "That's why you've been hiding since the Lord of the Rings were born?" β
"You know that you can no longer resist us with the dragons, and you are ready to abandon your army just to lure us to Mordor and to Mount Doom?"
Thorin laughed, the laughter that nearly caused the volcano beneath the cliff to erupt again.
"That's right, Eurolin."
"I know you want to abandon your body to gain strength against me, but it's so stupid, maybe I'll find it tricky if you come alone."
"It's a pity that you brought the One Ring, you fear it, and you let it be controlled by a mortal."
"Those armies don't matter at all, I'm going to regain my power, and there's nothing in Middle-earth that can stop my presence anymore."
Gandalf retorted, "You will never be able to claim the One Ring in front of me! β
Sauron slowly stretched out his hand.
"Foolish Eurolin, you think highly of yourself, and you look up to this humble outsider."
"I've got it."
Townwex's arm suddenly vanished, appearing in Sauron's hand.
"This traveler's soul is too weak, Eurolin, and he gave me what he had before you stopped it."
"Now, it's my time."
