Chapter 48: The Crisis Strikes
NYPD Headquarters, Interrogation Room 1.
"Are you looking at the time?"
David asked, sitting across from Chris, frowning.
After sending Brooklyn back, David approached Director Regan and offered to participate in Chris's interrogation, and Director Regan agreed.
He had been in Interrogation Room 1 for half an hour, and in half an hour, Chris had seen it no less than ten times.
"I'm just thinking, the boss is really good at tossing people."
Chris shook his head and smiled wryly, as if he was still David's partner, and the two of them were hiding in the pantry and fishing lazily, complaining about the boss's inhumanity by the way.
"It's half past nine."
"I'm a prisoner now, I want to rest, it's better to watch you busy, but I'm resting."
As he spoke, Chris winked at David and laughed.
David wanted to laugh too, but he couldn't.
"Hey, man, don't do that."
Chris comforted David
"I've watched prisoners rest in a grand manner countless times while we were busy until dawn, and now I can finally experience it."
"Now that I'm a suspect, I can lie back and watch you guys go about your business, hahaha!"
Observation room.
Director Reagan looked at the situation in Interrogation Room 1 and shook his head.
"It's not going to work, the rhythm is all in Chris's hands. David didn't make any progress. If this continues, something will go wrong with the hostages. ”
"Boss, the phone from the state legislature." Regan's assistant held the phone and said with a sad face
"And Mr. Mayor, boss, you've been drying him for seven hours."
"Then let him wait another seven hours!"
Reagan unceremoniously snatched the phone, hung up, and asked
"How's it going over there?"
"No progress." Someone immediately came up and replied, "Since Judge Brooklyn left, Hahn has refused to answer any questions." ”
"Did the District Attorney's Office notify you?"
Inviting the District Attorney's Office to join usually means that the police want to make a deal with the suspect through a plea agreement.
This is actually a sign of police incompetence, and it is also what Reagan hates the most.
But at the moment, four lives are at stake, and he can only endure the nausea and pull the people from the District Prosecutor's Office in.
"Notified"
"Prosecutor Ben Stone is on his way."
Regan nodded expressionlessly and continued to stare at the interrogation room.
Interrogation Room 1.
David watched Chris look up at the time again, and felt a creep.
The person in front of him made him feel strange, this was by no means his partner!
"What are you waiting for?"
David asked with a frown.
"When?"
"What else did you do?"
Chris shook his head, not answering his question, but said with a hint of accusation
"It's not Brooklyn, don't learn from him."
"Why?" Puzzled, David asked, "You don't seem to like Brooklyn very much." ”
"You weren't like that before. Why? ”
Chris tilted his head, glanced at the time, and pointed to his eyes, "His eyes." ”
"David, Brooklyn is a liar, and I've never seen a liar in the world who is more able to lie than he is."
"Oh my God! He's lying with every breath! ”
David stood up with a straight face.
"Chris." He solemnly said to Chris, "I don't know what happened between you and Brooklyn. But Brooklyn never spoke ill of you to me. ”
"You say he's a liar." Seeing that Chris was about to refute, David sneered, "At least he didn't hide from me that he was a B-state killer." ”
Brooklyn was right to say that the living can't fight the dead, but he overlooked the fact that Chris, like him, was still alive at this stage.
The living cannot compete with the dead, but if the dead person leaves a very bad impression before he dies, the living may not be able to compete with the dead.
"Now tell me, what the hell are you waiting for?"
Chris was silent for a moment, shook his head, and leaned back.
"I need a lawyer."
……
……
NYPD is available exclusively in hotel rooms.
Brooklyn lies comfortably in the bathtub, the oversized bathtub and its own massage function, combined with the warm water, almost make Brooklyn moan.
Today he was so tired, physically and mentally exhausted.
After soaking for a while, I came out of the bathtub, dried my body, and was about to go to bed, when suddenly there was a knock at the door.
"Hello, sir, room service."
Brooklyn put on his bathrobe and stood barefoot in the doorway, frowning.
"I didn't call room service ......"
As he spoke, he opened the door, then let go of his grip on the bathrobe, raising his hands above his head.
"Good figure."
Evelyn held a knife in her hand, her eyes swept over Brooklyn, and she complimented.
"Now, let's have a good talk."
"What are you talking about?"
Brooklyn stood in the doorway, glancing out the door as she coped with Evelyn.
Evelyn shoved Brooklyn, the blade against his chest, and slashed all the way down, leaving a red mark of money.
"Don't roll your eyes, go in, let's close the door and have a good exchange."
Brooklyn immediately stepped back with her hands raised until Evelyn entered the house and closed the door with her backhand.
He suddenly grabbed his bathrobe and wrapped it around Evelyn's hand, grabbed the hanger with his other hand and smacked it towards Evelyn, while he ran towards the door.
Just at the door, he saw the elevator going down, and the number showed 12 floors.
He was on the 5th floor.
Now run out to the elevator entrance, you should be able to catch the elevator just in time.
As long as he gets on the elevator, he can get rid of Evelyn, and he can easily call the police and arrest Evelyn.
The wishes were good and the plan was perfect, but he underestimated Evelyn's reaction speed.
When she threw out her bathrobe in Brooklyn, Evelyn had already reacted.
She didn't subconsciously dodge, but leaned back and used her back to close the door directly.
Brooklyn's forward momentum came to an abrupt halt, and Evelyn smiled at the shaved head.
"I ...... Bang"
Without giving Brooklyn a chance to speak, Evelyn punched Brooklyn in the temple, and Brooklyn fell in response.
It was a wonderful feeling, as if the soul was out of body.
He could clearly feel the change in his trance-like state from awake to semi-conscious, and he watched as Evelyn moved him to the bed, pulled out the belt of his bathrobe, and tied him up.
It was as if he had been pulled out of this world.
Finally, with the help of a bottle of mineral water, he 'returned to his soul'.
"What do you want?"
After sobering up and thinking for a moment, Brooklyn immediately calmed down. He decided to take the initiative.
"Hahn is completely finished, you have outdone him, and soon you will have your own codename, a more terrifying one than the Red Devil."
In the face of kidnappers, the first thing to do is to stabilize the kidnappers' emotions and make their situation safer.
This is the opposite of deliberately belittling and provoking Hahn during his interrogation, and now he needs to flatter Evelyn so that she will be satisfied and happy.
Evelyn was in a good mood, and he was safe.
"Put away your coquettish expression."
Surprisingly, Evelyn doesn't have the slightest crush on Brooklyn.
