"When the Buddha heard this, his heart was shocked, and then he suddenly realized that if he only saved the prey, he would kill the goshawk, which is not real compassion, this is false compassion, because the goshawk will starve to death sooner or later."

"The Buddha let go of the goshawk and fell into endless sorrow, he obviously had compassion and compassion in his heart, and wanted to save his lifelong suffering, but in the end he found that all this was his own wishful thinking, and no matter what he did, it was wrong, and the Buddha began to meditate hard and suffer."

But he never found the answer.

"Until one day, he finally found the answer, and he went to look for the goshawk, and he found it."

The goshawk was still hunting, but this time, the Buddha stopped the goshawk, and the goshawk asked the Buddha if he had forgotten what he had said to the Buddha before. If the Buddha blocks it, the person who dies in the end will be it. ”

"The Buddha said that he had figured it out a long time ago, but he had never figured out how to solve this problem before, and the Buddha knew that if he didn't solve this problem, he would never be able to become a Buddha."

So the Buddha cut off a piece of flesh from his body and gave it to the goshawk for food.

When Fang Yi said this, all the Bodhisattvas, Venerable Arhats, even Ananda, Kasya, and even the Buddha put their hands together, and then sang a Buddha horn: "Amitabha." ”

"The Buddha is compassionate, worthy of being the Buddha, serving the eagle with his body, singing and crying." Ananda also said to Fang Yi at this time.

Everyone else was shocked by the story told by Fang Yi, and they couldn't speak, especially when everyone didn't expect that the Buddha was willing to feed eagles with his body, which was unbelievable.

"But it was the Buddha's move that made him become a Buddha on the spot." Fang Yi continued to speak at this time: "The flesh that the Buddha cut off and fed to the goshawk quickly returned to its original form, and after that, the Buddha understood a truth. ”

"Only with compassion can we become a Buddha." Fang Yi smiled and said, "And this Buddha once said such a sentence, saying: If I don't go to hell, who will go to hell?" ”

"Great goodness!!" As soon as these words came out, all the Bodhisattvas and Venerable Arhats couldn't help but praise them.

"This is the sound of the Great Dao Zen." The Buddha couldn't help but speak in admiration.

Ananda said at this time: "Future Buddha, please forgive me for being stupid, I actually don't quite understand, what does the future Buddha want to express when he tells this story??" ”

Because the story told by Fang Yi has no way to support any of Fang Yi's other views, Fang Yi said before that anyone can become a Buddha.

But what does his point of view have to do with this story?

Of course, the story told by Fang Yi can answer Ananda's previous question, what is a Buddha.

Now there is the answer, the one who has compassion is a Buddha.
