Chapter 635: Vigilance
The next day, when little Rockefeller woke up to find that he was not wearing a single strand of his lower body.
He was confused.
According to the composition of the scene, something indescribable should have happened between himself and the charming lady.
But little Rockefeller tried desperately to think about it, but he couldn't remember anything.
Did it happen? Or didn't it happen?
He wasn't sure.
The eldest young master grabbed the triangular strip of cloth with lace edges that had fallen on his lap with his hand.
He suddenly had an idea.
He took the strip of cloth to his nose and sniffed it.
God knows what little Rockefeller smelled like.
With a look of enjoyment, he grabbed the strip of cloth and stuffed it into his pants pocket.
A gust of wind came through the crack in the window.
"Ahh
It may be because of the smell of the strips of cloth, or it may be that you have caught a cold while sleeping without pants.
Little Rockefeller stood up and sneezed.
He got up from the ground and lifted his pants.
The eldest young master was still reminiscing about the good things of last night, thinking, thinking, with an idiotic smile on his face.
Oh, woman!
One night? How can one night be enough?
The spring night is short, not to mention that there is no memory?
Although he didn't know why Eva didn't say goodbye last night, now that he knew the woman's identity, it would be easy to do.
So, in the days that followed, Rockefeller Jr. began to try to contact Eva in various ways.
He first wrote to Eva with great hope.
For security reasons, the address of the letter is not his own residential address, and the signature is only an acronym of his name.
The content of the letter is extremely numb.
But after these letters were sent, they were all lost.
Little Rockefeller wondered if he was regarded as a pervert by Eva because he didn't reveal his identity.
So, he asked his men to deliver the letter directly.
The subordinate was told that Ms. Eva was working next door to the president's office as the vice president's secretary.
If you want to see her, you have to make an appointment by phone.
The gray subordinate who touched his nose returned to Rockefeller Jr.
After learning the news, Rockefeller Jr. couldn't wait to shake the handle of the phone in his office.
The operator hurriedly received the line of Northern Securities.
"Duda, this is the vice president's office of Northern Securities, what can I do for you?"
Eva's voice came from the other end of the phone.
Little Rockefeller's hand holding the earpiece shook involuntarily:
"It's me, John."
"John? What's your last name? ”
Little Rockefeller's heart seemed to be pinched:
"Rockefeller, John Rockefeller! John Rockefeller of Standard Oil. ”
"Hello, Mr. Rockefeller, do you want to see Mr. Harriman? What time? He's full this afternoon. ”
The voice on the other side of the earpiece doesn't fluctuate much, sweet, official.
"I'm not looking for Harriman, I'm looking for you, Eva! I want to see you, me." Little Rockefeller said hurriedly.
But his flower hasn't spoken yet.,It seems that the other end of the phone can't be connected anymore.。。
Rockefeller Jr. was stunned.
He called again, but there was no answer on the other end of the phone.
"Who's calling?" Harriman walked out of his office and glanced at Eva.
"Mr. Rockefeller Jr." Eva replied.
She set the receiver aside.
"Looking for me?"
"He didn't say looking for you, and then the signal went off."
Harriman was a little strange, but he didn't pay much attention to it:
"I'm going to Morgan in the afternoon, and I guess I'm going to have to get caught there all afternoon, damn it, it looks like there's another internal data breach."
He straightened his collar, but his movements were a little awkward.
Eva stood up, walked over to Harriman, and straightened his clothes.
"Go with confidence, business matters." Eva said softly.
Her hands hung down, and Harriman buttoned the crotch of her trousers one by one.
Harriman almost couldn't hold back and put his arms around Eva's waist.
"Go ahead, Mr. President, your driver should be waiting for you downstairs." Eva gently pushed Harriman's hand away.
Harriman looked at the table below.
"You wait, I'll come back in the evening to clean up this little goblin."
Eva watched Harriman walk into the elevator.
She walked to the window and looked down as Harriman slipped into her car and disappeared into the street.
Eva turned around and walked into Harriman's office.
"Da!"
The door was locked from the inside.
Morgan's office is not in the Flatiron Building, where Northern Securities is located, but it is not far away.
Harriman closed his eyes for a moment, and the driver's voice came from the front:
"Sir, it's here."
Morgan's office is huge.
Even though the walls are covered with blackboards, and there are a few easel-like shelves in the office, it doesn't look small and cramped.
Morgan was sitting in his chair, staring at the blackboard on the wall.
It is densely written with letters, numbers, and even formulas.
Harriman couldn't read any of them.
It's more like a university professor's office than a Wall Street tycoon's office.
"Harriman, do you know why we're so passive now?"
Morgan stared intently at the blackboard and said coldly.
"The court has come up with our last dividend data, and the government's lawyers are deducing our actual shareholding composition based on it."
"But those things don't make proof! We can not admit it unless they get the original! Harriman said eagerly.
"Do you think that's the point I'm telling you? Harriman? ”
Morgan's head turned to him.
The tone of the Wall Street tycoon changed from his usual politeness and showed no mercy.
"If our every move is under the noses of others, then we will definitely lose this lawsuit!"
"Well, I'm still checking the company's insiders, and I've checked all the people who can be involved in the core data, and I" Harriman sweated.
"But the secrets are still leaking, right?" Morgan stared into Harriman's eyes, "What did you tell me about the Masonic salon before?" Is that what you call the Westerner way?"
"Harriman, I hope you can think clearly, I tell you, no one in this world can be trusted! Especially the people you have a close relationship with! ”
He turned and walked to the window.
"If we fail, Northern Securities will be split, and I will still go to my bank, and as for you, Mr. Harriman, I am afraid that there will be no place to stand in the west."
Morgan didn't speak again, just looked out the window with his hands behind his back.
For the first time, he didn't leave Harriman down to discuss business.
Harriman understood what Morgan meant.
If he can't find out the inner ghost in a short time, then Morgan will clean up with himself, and it is unknown whether he will be used as a scapegoat or directly driven back.
He slithered out of the office building and into his car.
"President, where are we going now?" The driver asked.
As originally scheduled, he would spend the afternoon with Morgan, just as he had done before.
Today, though, Morgan's patience has finally reached its limit.
Harriman was in his office for less than five minutes before he was evicted.
"Where to go? Go back to the company! Where else can we go now? ”
Harriman was holding back a fire.
The driver didn't dare to touch the moldy head and immediately started the car.
When Harriman returned to the Flatiron Building, he ran straight to the elevator.
The people in the building looked at his gloomy face, and they all knew that the vice president was deflated somewhere, and his mood was not very good, so they all hid far away.
The elevator quickly reached the sixteenth floor.
Harriman stepped out of the elevator and walked down the hallway to his office.
He walked to the door and turned the handle, only to find that the door was not moving.
The door is locked!
But Harriman remembered that when he went out, he didn't lock the door!
He recalled what Morgan had said earlier, and his heart was shocked.
Harriman found that it seemed that Eva was also missing.
He took a few steps back, ready to rush forward and kick the door open.
However, just as his feet were already raised, a female voice suddenly came from behind:
"What's wrong? My dear? It's so atmospheric, you want to kick the door?"
Harriman turned his head to see Eva standing behind him.
