Chapter 304: Ghost Ships and Robbers
Lockevon paced up and down the King's Hall.
The skylights on both sides of the hall cast a warm morning light, reflecting a bright color in the empty hall, but Lockevonde's face was cloudy. He had walked back and forth countless times in the faint sunlight, and on the edge of the black pillar, a Nome soldier looked at him with trepidation.
The door suddenly opened, and before the guards guarding the king's hall could speak, a short-haired girl dressed in white cotton clothes pounced on her like a hungry wolf.
"What's wrong?" the little wolf asked loudly with wide eyes, "Did you hear them say early in the morning that the ghost ship is a ghost pirate ship?"
Lockevon glared at her disapprovingly.
"What are you doing here? I didn't look for you!"
"Okay, if you don't look for me, I'll inquire about it myself!" the little wolf yelled impatiently. There were two people behind the little wolf, because the little wolf was running too fast, and they had to keep up with the little wolf, and they were out of breath
"He is the sentinel who saw the ghost ship. Lockonder raised his hand and pointed at the Nome soldier in black leather armor. The soldier raised his head and looked at the three humans in front of him in a daze, looking at his trance-like expression, as if he didn't understand what Lockeonde was doing with letting humans in.
"The two of them are magicians, and they have dealt with demons a few times. Lockonder pointed to Ivan and Aisha behind the wolf. The Nome soldier suddenly showed a look of surprise, and he inhaled hard, his voice sharp.
"Magician, magician?"
"Yes. Lockonde didn't bother to explain further, "This sentry's name is Berg. Last night, I was on duty at the Dragon's Tooth Point watchtower, don't ask me where the watchtower is, go and see the map yourself!"
Lockonder was inexplicably irritable again, his eyebrows furrowed, and he glanced sternly at the two young magicians who were not silent at all, "You make it clear to the two of them!" he snarled at the sentry named Berg.
"Yes!" Berg immediately stood upright, but his eyes were still full of suspicion.
"Last night, I was on duty with Baez and Lawn, and we sat by the fire and drank...... Drink hot water, I want you two to know. ...... on the hill by the sea"
"Just tell me about the ghost ship!" Lockvon interrupted Berg with a roar. Berg suddenly snorted and stood more upright.
"The night was foggy! And then, and then the ghost ship appeared! taller than the watchtower. White. It's all bones! I'm afraid. I'm afraid that the sea will pour into the watchtower, the waves will be too high, so we will rush to inform the crescent castle immediately!"
"No, there really is a ghost ship!" the little wolf's eyes lit up. I couldn't help but run over and lean down to press Berg's shoulder, looking at Berg's pale face with relish.
"And then, and then? Did you go back again?"
Berg said that when the ghost ship came, he felt the breath of a demon. Lockevon looked angrily at the little wolf, as if he had a good opinion of the wolf's actions, and then turned back to the poor sentry.
"You, let's make it clear, what the hell is going on? How can the ghost ship have the breath of a demon?"
"I, I'm not sure ......," the sentry shuddered as he saw the green tendons on Lockevonde's forehead, and he hurriedly changed his words, "I feel it...... It seems to have the breath of demons, but with me, Baez and Lorne are terrified, and we, we don't see demons......"
"What do you two think?" Lockvon raised an eyebrow at the two wizards, "Have you ever seen anything like this before?"
Ivan heard about the ghost ship from the Nome Pathfinders four days ago. At the time, I thought that the ghost ship was far from shore, but maybe the pathfinders were mistaken. Listening to the meaning of this sentry, the incomparably huge ghost ship attacked the watchtower of the Nome clan, and besides, there is also the breath of the demons?
"Demons?" he thought for a moment, "Is there a demon hiding on the ship?"
"No, it can't be! that boat is rotten!" Berg's voice trembled, "that kind of ship...... It's impossible to float on the sea!"
"I've never seen a ghost ship before......" Aisha glanced at Ivan and looked down in deep thought, "A ship taller than a watchtower?"
"Right...... I, I've never seen a ship that big......" Berg said tremblingly.
With a snap, the little wolf slapped his palm heavily.
"Hey, let's go over there, is the ghost ship still there?" she stared expectantly at Berg, shivering.
"Still there?" Berg's eyes widened in bewilderment, and he hesitated for a moment before he continued, "It's long gone! Last night, we called the soldiers from the Crescent Castle and drove them back!
He looked up, as if he had been greatly wronged.
"And then, and then they found out...... Food ...... in the underground warehouse It's gone!"
Towards dusk, Lockvon finally arrived at the Dragon's Tooth Point watchtower.
It's so far away that it takes more than eight hours to take even an underground rail car. Stepping off the railcar, Lockeonder looked at the messy underground tunnel, he raised his hands, grabbed the brim of his hat, and pulled it down fiercely.
"Bastard, this is what a robber did!"
The soldiers of the Crescent Castle had already arrived, and they were patrolling the tunnels repeatedly. The lights in the tunnels were all smashed, and the soldiers held small grease lamps with glass covers, illuminating the destroyed warehouse doors.
Lockvonde brought three humans, two magicians, and a wolf cub that he couldn't shake off. The little wolf jumped off the cable car and sniffed around like a wild beast.
"It smells of alcohol!" she said excitedly.
"I know without you saying it!" Lockeonde gritted his teeth in anger. Of course there will be a smell of alcohol, and there are broken bottles all over the floor. There is only one small warehouse in the underground warehouse on this side of Dragon's Tooth Point that holds ale for the hard-working pathfinders. At this moment, the pine door of the warehouse was completely unloaded, and the piles of wooden boxes overturned to the ground, leaving only a few intact bottles. The nearby warehouse for dry bread, cheese and jerky had been looted and there was nothing left but empty boxes.
Lockevon inquired with the soldiers, and learned that in addition to food and wine, they had lost several spare sets of leather armor. Regardless of where they came from, the robbers had snatched the goods that the Nome had hidden underground, and before the Crescent Castle soldiers arrived, they ran away without a trace, and their movements were surprisingly fast.
"You told me there were no living people on board!" Lockevonde's bloodshot eyes were round, "this is ...... Is this the work of your ghost?"
"I don't think the ghost did it. The little wolf stuck out his tongue from the side, "Ghosts don't eat dry bread, do they?"
The watchtower also doesn't look like it's been flooded by the sea.
The sentries said that the waves were higher than the watchtower, but the top of the watchtower was more than 500 meters above the sea, so how could there be such a high wave? They also said that the searchlight on the watchtower was broken when the ghost ship came, but when the soldiers arrived, they found that the light was intact......
The soldiers of the crescent castle were suspicious. But why did the sentinels lie, and who were the ones who stole the food?
Above the Dragon's Tooth Horn, a cloud of suspicion shrouded it. (To be continued.) For mobile phone users, please go to M to read. )
