Zhang Dian went through the northwest border affairs, and finally found Liu Fa, who was the first general of the Great Song Dynasty at the time in the Northwest Army.

This is something that has never been tried by any dynasty after Zhenzong, and if it can succeed, its achievements are far from comparable to those on the Western Front. And the West and the North have some connections: the continuous war in the west will provide battle-hardened soldiers and generals for the North Affairs; The weakening of Western Xia in the course of the war would make it unable to join forces with the Khitan in future wars on the Northern Front. However, if the war were to start in the north, the fighting on the Western Front would have to stop. This is also the reason why the Songxia front finally calmed down in the first year of Xuanhe.
