Chapter 470: Troubles
"It's not us......" the wizards defended in a panic, their cloaks of going out, and in the dim light, they seemed indistinguishable from the attackers. "Ah, Elder Algernon. One of them turned his head suddenly, his voice revealing an expectant surprise.
"Bill?" Bud, who ran out from behind Algernon, immediately recognized his friend's voice, "Why are you here?"
"We areβ" As soon as Bill spoke, he suddenly noticed the questioning gazes of the two Feather Clan guards not far away, and involuntarily swallowed back what he wanted to say, "It's not us! I saw those men in black sneaking around outside, I don't know what they want to do, I came here when I saw the light on the roof of my friend's house!"
"I was reading a book tonight, and I heard what seemed to be movement outside, and it didn't take long for me to see a bright spot on Blanche's house!" Another short, hoarse wizard spread out his hands, and his emotions were high. His name was Myron, and he was also a wizard from the town of Takamo, "My son saw it too, and we heard the thunder!" he dragged the young wizard beside him, Bard knew him, Lynn, in his early twenties, was a very talented young wizard.
"They are right, Dear Guardian of the City, we have been attacked by unknown mages, mages, and, hunters armed with crossbows. Algernon stretched his face and walked towards the two silver-faced guards with his staff. He couldn't see the guards' expressions, and the white-green fluorite lamps in their hands only made their faces more gloomy.
"We've sent people to chase down those who escaped. One of the guards spoke, his voice not rising or falling. He held the fluorite lamp of the Feather Clan in one hand and the light sword with magic runes in the other, and looked at Algernon intently. Algernon stared at him intently.
"Okay, good, then, I'll have to leave it to you. Algernon's tone was polite and dignified. The wizards called him an elder, and he also felt that he should step up at the critical moment and solve the problem for those who believed in him. "I know that the peaceful city of Arcatia should not be in such chaotic fighting, and I wonder what the reason for the attackers is. Not hesitating to provoke the order of the city. We are also going to do something to us, the scholars who have no quarrel with the world, and I hope that the Guardians will capture those attackers alive. β
"It's our job, sir. The guard's voice remained silent, "Our job is to maintain order in Arcatia City. I hope the human wizards from out of town don't mind us investigating your mansion. β
"Does Mr. Guard suspect usβ" Bard immediately furrowed his brow. Sally may have taken Freya to the cellar. If the guards saw Freya hiding...... No. If Freya had been shouting something like "the wizards had assassinated her" at this time, Bard and Algernon would probably not have been able to explain it.
"There must be a reason why your house was attacked by unidentified men. Please do not interfere with the work of the Silver Guard. The Silver-Faced Guard's calm words were like a warning, and Bill, Myron, and Lynn stood in the doorway, looking at Bard with uneasy expressions.
Bud is a man who does things very inconsiderately, and Bill thinks so.
In January, Bill and Bud were patrolling the craters around the town of Takamo when they came across a young boy who had lost his way in the forest. Bill was very opposed to Bard bringing the out-of-town kid to town, knowing that they had offended the powerful "New Magic" organization Wizard Alliance, and that there were already patrolling wizards who had died in the forest, and for them, prudence was more important than anything else!
It wasn't until they heard the bells echoing above the wizard's castle that they knew something was wrong, and it wasn't until they had to abandon Taka Mo Town and leave the country that Bill heard from the elders in the know that it was the executor of the Wizard Alliance who had mixed in! Bill didn't want to leave Taka Mo Town, and even if he wanted to fight, he would desperately defend the holy place where they had lived for generations! In the end, Bud persuaded him.
When he learned that the little boy that Bard had saved was the executor of the Magic Alliance, he almost fainted!
This idiot Bud, did he make some name for himself?
The Silver-Faced Guard strode past Bard and Algernon. The walls of the house had collapsed, the living room was still flickering with an unextinguished flame, and the fruit trees in the garden smelled of burning. The two guards cautiously stepped on the wreckage on the ground, carefully observing as they went. Suddenly, one of the guards turned around and beckoned to Bard and Algernon.
Algernon, with a dark face, followed, and Bard followed closely after Algernon.
"Please take us to the other rooms. The guard pointed to the end of the living room. Bud sighed softly and leaped into the living room, his gaze silently sweeping over the miserable mess in the living room. The door to the hallway was still open, and the hallway led to the cellar.
That's when the scene I didn't want to see appeared.
A figure popped out of the doorway, his wife, Sallyster, staring at the two Feather Clan guards with horror.
And then--
"Silver-Faced Guard?"
The shrill scream made Bud's heart sink suddenly. Miss Freya Wind Spirit popped out of the shadows under the hallway, her voice more annoying than ever, "Take me back, these humans are going to kidnap me, and the wizards are going to kill me, catch them!"
She rushed to the two of her kindred, Sallyster's face turned white, and she reached out to grab her, but her reaction was a little slower. Bard clenched his fists and watched without saying a word as Freya ran up to the Feather Guard, and with a wave of her arm, she motioned to all the humans in the living room.
"Please, please listen to our explanation......" It was as if a basin of ice water poured into Bud's body, and in addition to the cold, a sour and bitter taste soaked his heart. Their family, as well as the elderly Elder Algernon, were attacked madly because of this little girl of the Feather Clan, but this little girl was-
"Who are you?" the Silvermasked Guard's voice was as calm as ever, almost impersonal, and the two raised their swords in unison to avoid Freya's approach. Bard was stunned, and so was Sallyster, only Algernon clutched the staff, his face grim.
"I'm ......," Freya's eyes widened. She jerked her head down and looked at her long, light-red ill-fitting dress, which was Sallyst's dress, and she wore it loosely. Freya suddenly showed a very unhappy expression, she raised her hand to comb a strand of golden hair, crossed her waist with one hand, pointed to her face with the other, and glared at the two guards proudly.
"Don't you recognize me? I was at the Sky Mansion the other day! I'm Freya Wind Spirit!"
